I agree it is not super intuitive, but you can find out pretty easily by just selecting a hero and seeing if the tooltip disappears.

I was really hoping they would nerf Genji before release, it feels like he has zero damage drop off on his ranged.

If you are a beginner, definitely try Bastion. It's so easy to rack up kills and be the "Play of the Game", especially when defending.

Ok one more post with me gushing about this game. While in the firing range,I was being creative with each character using abilities to chain kills and movement. It really feels like the game rewards you for imagination which is amazing. I'm in love and I've yet to even play an online match, the 24th can't come fast enough.

60 FPS is not enough IMO, even on a 60hz screen.
I like the clean look of maxing out models/textures, render to 100% and everything else low/off for 300 FPS (hard cap in this game) with less distractions on the screen. Setting render scale to 200% completely cleans up any aliasing at half the FPS which is also a viable option.

Seems odd for an objective based game. You'd think they would want to encourage people to take the tank and support roles. As it is it feels like a race to pick DPS then the slowest 2 pick something to balance the team.
I'm not salty. But if you're gonna bitch at me for team builds, the least you can do is help. I have no fucking clue which fucking classes you want me to pick per your suggestions.
How the fuck would I know that? The game doesn't give you that information unless you're gonna sit there and F1 each and every class to find out and even then most of their powers are ambiguous about them being what Blizzard wants.

Is Blizzard supposed to predict how good people will be at the game before they even play it? Gotta give them some time to come up with an MMR rating for everyone.

For proper matchmaking they would need large amounts of match data, which is impossible when the game isn't even released.

They're grouped by class and type identified by icon. They're not in a random order on the pick screen.
It doesn't tell you becausew it doesn't matter. You don't need builders or a sniper at all. The important ones are pretty obvious like "NO TANK"
You can steer the charge slightly with A and D (or presumably left and right strafe on console).

Considering the sniper chick's main fire mode is..... not a sniper rifle, I don't exactly blame them. It seems obvious to you, but it really won't be for the mass market.

Give it 2-3 days while people learn. Bastion is a lot better than he used to be, but he's also significantly easier to counter if he's not good and well supported. And no, staying in the same place with reinhardt in front fo you is not 'good'.

I was surprised I'd never heard of Mei, but goddamn. That ice wall is so fun to use. Freezing Reaper in place is a good feeling, too.
Btw, Mei needs three icicle shots to kill a deployed Bastion.
And they are basically sniper shots.
Just saying.

I mean, did they leave anything out of this? Surprised it's only slightly under 6GB. I wonder if we will have to re-download the whole game when it release it if they will just patch the beta into the full game.... which it already seems to be anyway.

I'm on PS4 and after downloading the beta and opening up the game, it's been showing "game installing" and only allowing me to play the training for almost an hour. What gives?

Has anyone had trouble getting into games on the Xbox side of things? I must have gotten kicked out about 3 times due to insufficient amount of players. I have the beta on both consoles and I didn't have the issue on the PS4 (from the limited time I played).

You can replace Mei with Reinhardt and Ice Block with Shied, too.
I'm enjoying Mercy but I swear people on my team are wearing horse blinders. No one looks around so I tend to spend games running around things trying to stop Tracer/Genji from killing me while my team just faces forward.
Then the times I don't play her the moment the game doesn't go our way the healer switches to something else.

All you have to do is click on heroes in different segments of the hero selector. They are Separated with a shield, bullets, etc. The one with Reinhardt in it is tanks, the one with Widowmaker is defense/builder, the one with Tracer is Damage, the one with Mercy is Support.
They give you clear symbols and all you have to do is click around to figure it out when it says you lack something. You don't even have to select the hero for the indicator to go away, it just will when you click a hero before choosing it.
it's fine, once you learn how it works it's not hard to counter w/ widow, reinhardt, junkrat, pharah, etc.
