Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

Problem is that Eviolite existing makes it unlikely we'll get any cross gen new evos unless they completely remove that item.

They like to have legacy, so things that happen now couldn't have happened in past games. It's why Leafeon evolves based on location rather than the Leaf Stone.
If Gamefreak cared that much about "legacy", Clefairy and Snubbull would still be Normal types.

Mega Ampharos is well-designed too. No spikes and edges, only gloriousness

Majestic as fuck.

I don't think it's because of balancing, I think it's because of in universe consistency. They created a new universe just to make a fairy type.

Why would GF care about in-universe consistency in regards to Eviolite? They don't seem like mutually inclusive concepts, unless I'm missing something.

It doesn't add anything but doesn't take anything away from the design either. Unlike say Mega-Gyrados who I would consider over-designed by adding giant fins, change of coloring, and turning the serpentine body into a shrimp

The shape is actually based on a Koinobori. Gyarados is already based on one of these windsocks, they just exaggerated the similarity with Mega Gyarados.

I'm trying real hard to come up with well-designed megas and I honestly can't.

Altaria is probably the best designed Mega I've ever seen.

The only badly designed megas are Mega Sharpedo and Mega Charizard X, everyone else is fine.

X isn't badly designed. It's actually pretty decent with the black/blue colouring and certain fire design elements. That being said, I think Y is the worse designed of the Charizard mega evolutions.

Wat.

Y actually looks like a natural evolution of the Charizard line, X looks like someone gave their kid a marker and told them to draw what they wanted a Charizard Mega to look like. Seriously those fucking mouth flames trigger me.

Mega designs are ace. The only one I actually dislike, and it's one of my most disliked 'Mon designs period is mega Aerodactyl. Its straight up wrong when people state the way to design a Pokemon is add loads of spikes to it but Mega Aero is that complaint personified. Just comes off as really lazy.
Everything else is awesome though and have some of the best designs in the series. Fave's gotta be either Mega Banette or Mega Sceptile.

The sheer badassery.
Edit: As for Charizard, Y destroys X based on appearance. I'm meh on Charizard, but when Y was revealed it got a smile outta me. Sick design.

Yep, even though the sneaky pebbles are a pain in the backside in the singles format, VGC's focus on doubles where sneaky pebbles are non existent, so GF don't care.

To be fair, GF doesn't care about balance, and even when they do, it works out terribly (case in point, creating the Fairy type, which Dragons are still rampant but the problem now is Fairy is pretty OP as an offensive type).

I still think these are the weakest starters ever, but I'm holding out hope for the final evolutions to fix their designs. Gen VI starters were really good but then the final stage designs were a mess. Maybe this time, they'll do it on reverse.

I don't think Y looks like an evolution of the line. Its design looks lazy where there are barely any changes aside from the arm-wings from out of nowhere, and the extra spike on its head. It just looks so bland and forgettable.

If they introduce Ultras one day, how will people feel?

baby evolution -> standard evolution -> mega evolution ->ultra evolution

Nah son, there's no point in introducing Megas before GF actually balance them well amongst each other, because we only have 48 megas and many of them are already obsolete (Steelix) or downright useless (Garchomp, Latios).

No theyre not real. At all. Just random fakes

I wonder if Solgaleo Lunaala and Zygarde can combine into an ultra megazord

Ah, but X & Y and ORAS take place in a different universe to the other ones ;)

Meh. Id say they dont really care about items too much considering they arent compatible with Pokebank. They definitely are in control of it and can change it as need be.

Bipdedal? Thicker arms?
He's about to embrace his Fighting Type destiny.

Litten's all but confirmed to be bipedal so that doesn't bug me.

Literally every single fire type starter has become bipedal. Not really sure why anyone's expecting this one to be different.

Expecting next months corocoro to give us legendary typing, spotlight on the first island or something, and hopefully the pidgey and bidoof of gen 7!

Y is the best. X is what happens when you try to validate all the garbage fanart kids used to draw. Everything about X is meant to be "edgy" from the stupid ass flames on its mouth to the hooks on its shoulders.

Boss please. Stahp. I rather it follow the path of serperior or lean bulk instead of becoming a different animal completely lol.

Samurott is still an otter

And I'm talking about mostly in bulk, I mean those seal arms are gonna gain some gains for punching people!

Quite possibly. Would tie in with the fact that it has the symbol for sulfur/brimstone on its face.

Big ol' furbomb here we come.

I mean, I get why people see this, but by this logic every Japanese cartoon tiger are sulfuric.

Mega Mawile is the best mega

Truth.

Wat.

Y actually looks like a natural evolution of the Charizard line, X looks like someone gave their kid a marker and told them to draw what they wanted a Charizard Mega to look like. Seriously those fucking mouth flames trigger me.

Y looks like a spikier Charizard. X looks like a super form, which is what megas should be IMO. Give me all the edgy shit, looks cool as hell.

These seem more like 2nd stage evolutions than final.

They are 2nd stage.

I wouldn't be so sure, especially if GF takes complaints about Fennekin's evolutions to heart.

Game Freak doesn't take complaints. Everything they do, there's a reasoning behind it. If people doesn't like it, they might do it again. If people still doesn't like it, it's our problem, and not theirs.
