Really looking forward to seeing Ni no Kuni 2 again. The only issue I have with that game, literally, is its combat.

I hope Sony are back in Germany this year. They didn't bring it to France the way they usually bring it to Germany, so fingers crossed for a return to Gamescom.

i know technically they were at gamescom last year, but they didn't have a presser, so no one gave a shit

I'd rather Ni no Kuni 2 next year, just because I dunno how I'm going to hold all these RPGs this year. I hope we see more. I hope we see another Level-5 PS4 game too. IIRC, I think Verendus said they were doing a first-party one too.

I actually wouldn't complain if they space out some of those JRPGs more

Most of those are probably going to be like +30 hour games.

I think NnK2 is certain for next year. There's a complete lack of info on it and it's a big enough game that NAMCO wouldn't be silent about its release if it was coming this year. But that's okay as I think it's a game that would be much better off as far as potential success goes if it were released early next year instead of later this year. Especially with P5 and FFXV releasing.

Really? Obviously everyone has their opinion but I felt the PGW conference was better than any of their Gamescom conferences.

They announced Gran Turismo Sport, Detroit, Matterfall from Housemarque, Driveclub Bikes, confirmed Tekken 7 for PS4 and gave new footage of Uncharted 4 and Horizon.

Wild and Resistance 3 are probably the highest profile games they've ever announced at Gamescom.

I guess it focused less on small and superbly creative games than Gamescom usually does. If someone is really into those, I can see how one may have been disappointed in PGW.

I am so damn excited for this game and really enjoyed the original but I still just can't get past the cat / dog ears. I really hate them on that character

Eh, they had a pretty strong conference in Paris last year, i would say of the same strength as the Gamescom shows before. Well maybe not all of them.
And i dont think it would make any difference where they show their stuff, the announcement would be the same.
But bring it back to Germany anyway.

I missed the GopherD tease in this thread.

Believe!

Yeah its pretty exciting. Especially how he mentions they looked at their marketing schedule and just said screw it let's show everything we've got.

I actually believe it, Sony saw the immense positive reception to their conference last year and would probably love to have a repeat of that if possible. It was going around social media like crazy last year and certainly earned them some good will.

Yep, those FF7R reactions on Youtube are unlike anything I have ever seen come from E3.

I'm not sure what they can do to get a reaction like that again but I think they will definitely be trying to get some fan favorites announced.

I went through a craze of watching people's reactions during Sony's megaton releases, but I always wanted to find someone recording the audience at the event and get their reactions, this is one I have of FF7 Remake announcement. https://youtu.be/HNwGsTfOoeY?list=LLNP5u5_QgFM4kwB-LsnKbJw

If you could find any other ones for the TLG and Shenmue III announcements that'd be great.

Man rewatching those videos I just don't see how it can ever be topped. There isn't many games still floating around out there of that scale that seemed to "slip through the cracks" or been in demand for so long. One of the only ones I can think of is Half-Life 3 and that game is either never going to happen or certainly wouldn't be announced at E3 on a Sony stage.

Bringing Crash back home would certainly be one but what else do people theorize? I'm thinking Year of Dream 2.0 is going to be more about crazy epic new announcements of new titles than bringing stuff back.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was megaton for my friend, he couldn't even message me back he was shaking from excitement. Crash Bandicoot will do the same for me.
Heavenly Sword (2 and/or remaster of 1) and Parasite Eve would be similar levels of excitement also, and according to Verendus there's a new Parasite Eve coming so I'm holding out for that too :)

Crash I agree. Heavenly Sword and Parasite Eve just don't have that kind of draw I don't think. Stuff like Shunmue III and The Last Guardian had become like these gaming Urban Legends. Would they show up one day? There was always the debate on if they could / would happen. I'm sure there are a decent amount of Parasite Eve fans but it hasn't built up that "legend" of it returning.

Crash and Half-Life 3 are the only real games out there at the moment that seem to have that broader hope they happen

I've never even played Shenmue, but seeing Yu Suzuiki walk out on stage at E3 2015 was one of the most iconic moments I've seen in all my years following this industry.

I think a lot of PS only gamers haven't played Shenmue, which is why it's important that Sega gets the remasters out before Shenmue 3 hits.

yup me too, therefore I'm totally thrilled to play Shenmue 3 even I never played the previous ones.

My only issue with this is that we have been told year after year after year that nothing is set in stone for a conference until a few hours before.

Now suddenly they plan to show everything they have and have decided this more than 3 weeks out?

And for the record, Gopher has hyped up a conference that was ultimately disappointing before.

That being said, this really is Sony's year to cement itself as not only the market leader but the PS4 as the true successor to the ps2.

We have already had 3 great retail exclusives, even if SFV could of done with more time in the oven, and a handful of digital ones. We have a game changer new model on the horizon as well as Playstation's biggest franchise in the fall.

A powerful showing this E3 could definitively put PS4 as the console to own this generation, where it is you main console, secondary or just exclusives only box.

Oh, I mean personally. Crash Bandicoot would definitely have huge mainstream appeal, but Heavenly Sword and Parasite Eve announcements would be a smaller, niche market and would only be a personally huge reveal for me, although I'd like Heavenly Sword remaster to get a newer audience for the game big enough to support a sequel.

Crash definitely. This has been hyped for a while (it's been nearly eight years since the last console game and there have been attempts to rebooting the series with an old school approach that Activision canned a while ago and they pretty much left it die). And along with the rumors that Sony bought the IP would generate a lot of hype.

Not to mention it's Crash's 20th Anniversary this year too.

So, what's the opener this time? Crash? TLG again? More PSVR antics?

I'm hoping for Call of Duty just so they get it over with ASAP.

I'd love No Man's Sky open the show with a VR demo and something like "Can't wait for you all to play it next week. The VR patch will arrive at PSVR's launch in October" etc. It'd be a big opener for sure I think. I would love Crash to be the last thing they do, the drop the mic moment.

Which I'm guessing is Tabata next game after XV.

I don't know, more No Man's Sky is just par-for-the-course now. I'm expecting they debut the launch trailer and announce some DLC, though a PSVR patch would be cool and a pretty obvious choice for Sony to make.

He's said that he wants to work on new IP's after completing XV. That would be for the best as well. Square needs to start trying to establish new IP's.

Q: After Final Fantasy XV, what kind of game would you like to make?

A: There will definitely be something next. And I’d like to challenge something large-scaled, too. It won’t be a sequel to Final Fantasy XV, and not a series that follows the flow as seen in the Final Fantasy Type-0 series.

Doesn't sound like it but whatever. I rather him get Type 1 off the ground and make it a proper console game with the Japanese look the teaser had.

It's a shame Capcom totally wasted Resident Evil 2 Remake announcement since that is a legit megaton if it was presented with a good trailer. Now it was just like ''yeah we are starting to make it, please be excited'' (maybe even to get in on FF7 remake hype since the announcement was like 2 months after E3). Still there is a lot of pent up demand for a old school Resident Evil so that is one thing that could be shown but it might still be too early.

Resident Evil 7 can be a wildcard depending what kind of game it ends up being.

Devil May Cry 5. Not huuuuge but fairly vocal fanbase. Could happen.

Bloodborne 2, probably too early but could happen. Very vocal fanbase.

God of War 4, very likely.

Kingdom Hearts 3 legit blowout trailer with release info would be huge. Probably too early. Very vocal fanbase.

Final Fantasy XVI. Very unlikely but knowing SE hardon on announcing games not impossible.

Knights of the Old Republic 3. Extremely unlikely.

Silent Hills resurrection. Very unlikely.

Grand Theft Auto 6 extremely unlikely.

Red Dead. Maybe could happen?

Also, No Man's Sky launch trailer narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart would be legendary. That would be just perfection for the game, which (to me and many enthusiastic NMS fans) is consistent with everything we're hearing and seeing about the game.

Hey, guys, what's going on? This thread got a few new pages since last night? Insider tease perhaps?

*looks through last few pages*

Oh, nevermind. :P

I would be shocked if they announced XVI this year.

I would be shocked not in a sense of ''No way!'' but rather ''They fuckin can't help themselves, can they.''

XVI probably has been worked on for some time and if the release was like 2019/2020 announcing it wouldn't be anything new from Square. It's just that they have so many friggin games from their japanese studios yet to be released it would be groanworthy.

I'm hoping for Call of Duty just so they get it over with ASAP.

If it's a first party title then I think it'll be something like Horizon or possibly Sony Bend's new game. If it's third party then you have CoD obviously, but there are starting to be indications that Resident Evil 7 could popup and that would obviously be something worth kicking a show off with. Maybe RDR2 as well.

What about one narrated by Morgan Freeman?
