The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

any one encountered a game breaking glitch in Blood and Wine so far ?? my curse with The witcher 3 is the glitches, i encountered lots of glitches and some of them could ruin the entire save if i had one save file and saved over it

My friend spent the last 3 days quickly finishing the main story of the vanilla game from the start, after he saved over his main save with a brand new game save, lol.

When he finally got to the part where he can get to toussaint, the introductory quest bugged and he can't meet with the toussaint knights in velen anymore. He can't even enter the expansion and he picked up the quest for the expansion when the expansion came out.

He can't rollback because he was around level 14 when he picked it up and now he's 35. Pretty game breaking bug.

Yeah, I just unlocked and tested a bunch of the mutations, and Toxic Blood wasn't really dealing the damage that it should be. Just put in the bugged basket.

Piercing Cold is so crap, coz it doesn't knockdown and kill enemies in one Aard. You actually have to use Aard twice. Lol, such a waste, when you can just use your sword for insta-killing when enemies are knocked down. Also, it doesn't deal the damage that it says it will deal in the tooltip. Another bugged mutation.

And the one that I want to use is completely bugged, and doesn't even work after one fight.

These are just for the few I tested. Seriously, do the gameplay developers even do anything?

This is really saddening to hear. I've already invested in the two alchemy ones and found them to be underwhelming as well from what they should have been doing. Thanks for testing them out.

I'll be using a respect potion to get those skill points back. Hopefully the inevitable 1.21 patch will these fix problems among others that are apparent in Toussaint.

Ok so need help with a boss. Major spoilers, last main quest.
Im getting 1 shot by Dettlaff's 2nd attack in his 2nd form, even through quen shield. What're you supposed to do?
Edit: Ok so,
that isn't the only attack that can 1 shot me through quen, all of his attacks can lol. The dodge window on it is ridiculously short, but I watched a video and quen definitely blocked the damage from his bat attack. Is it because I'm on deathmarch? So I can't get hit at all... and he has an attack that is hard to dodge. Great
Edit 2: This is dumb as fuck

It felt like that if you take a full blast most of your health is gone. But if it clips you, Quen can tank the damage.

I beat him by staying closer to the sides so the blood spike thingies weren't in the way. Roll in after you dodge the blood spike and hit him 2 or 3 times.

For the swipe attack its really easy to dodge, just dodge or roll when he is at the lowest.

For the bats, you dont have to move until all the bats have been summoned and there is a brief pause. I would sprint away from Detlaff and roll to dodge the bats. Just gotta get the timing right.

I figured out the dodge timings, but it seems incredibly inconsistent. I can swear I'm dodging the bats at the same time every attempt, but sometimes the bats have this weird tracking on them where they almost follow you. I see the brief delay between when the bats all appear and they charge, but sometimes my dodges work and sometimes they don't.

Also I'm pretty sure the metamorphosis mutation is bugged. When I had it equipped I couldn't do any follow up actions. So if I hit an enemy Geralt would freeze for around 3 seconds or so, or until he got hit. After I unequipped it this stopped happening.
Edit 2:
Even if you only get clipped by the bats it's a guaranteed 1 shot on deathmarch without any cheat death mechanics. So all of his attacks go through Quen, and 1 of them has seemingly inconsistent dodge timings and is a guaranteed 1 shot. Break time lol.

Piercing cold absolutely does not require two casts to work, it's just rng if both effects occur on the same cast. I've made dozens of humans just explode with it. It's sick. The damage is not what it claims though, true

Has anyone managed to procure an Ekimarra hide from anywhere in Blood and Wine? I still need one more to make my last Superior oil.

I'm using that mutation that boosts signs by weapon damage. Can't tell how much it's adding though. Of the choices avaliable, which one benefits signs the most?

Okay, I thought the grandmaster stuff wouldn't cost THAT much. One ingredient can cost 4k lol wth wtf

What's wrong with the tourney race? Why am I missing my hits on the dummys?

You can craft all the required ingredients. You don't need to buy them outright.

I swear no one looks at the crafting ingredients tab.

Not super gamebreaking, but my Geralt's vineyard never gets upgraded with the stuff I ordered. First the cellar stayed the same, now the armor and weapon benches aren't where they're shown on the map

Re-downloaded Witcher 3 base game for this last night, played this morning and realised I was only level 29 still smh.

Also anyone notice this update/dlc has wiped their playtime stat? I was at something like 48 hours and it's gone down to 8 for some reason.

I haven't played since release (put 200 hours in then though) and am starting a new NG+ now, but even with Manual sword sheathing/un-sheathing off, Geralt isn't putting away his sword now after fighting....is that normal or a glitch?

He used to sheath his sword straight after every fight when I played it originally.

Guys. Question regarding new game plus since this thread is more active. You have to scavenge for diagrams and upgrade your gear all the same, correct?

Sets do not level with your own char level, thus the Grandmaster one's become non viable after you leveled it in NG+, since diagrams you get from the base game will become more powerful, right?

Basically removes the whole aspect of being overpowered.

There's an option in the settings for that.

Anyone have tips on making some coin? I want to deck myself out in the grandmaster armor, but lack the funds to do so after acquiring all the plans.

Wonder if they will patch a tax man in for that bee hive exploit lol. Or have that dwarf randomly show up screaming "BEEEEEEEEES"

Without spoilers, can someone tell me what the best way to do the Wine Wars quest is? It remind me a bit of Get Junior.

So far, I have cleared out 3 of the woman's POIs, and 1 of the man's. I've also done the Deus Ex Machina part of it and have to go and tell them both
the real story
. Before I advance, can I get some advice? Thanks. I just don't want to lock myself out of anything interesting!

Woah those statues on DM are some shit tier nonsense. Doesn't help I have to wait ages on reloads and then have to change inventory as well.

Any tips?

Sorry. Completely read over the fact that you already checked the options. I don't know. Have you tried loading a previous save or restart the game?

Has anyone experienced a glitch where your Witcher medallion and stats bar along with additional equipment shown in the lower left screen disappears?

The stats bars comes back when Geralt takes damage in combat, but the additional equipment inventory remains hidden unless I hold up or down on the d-pad to switch potions. Even then the equipment inventory will disappear again until I actually use a potion or swap between them again.

Extremely inconvenient to say the least, especially when fighting a group of enemies.

I believe this glitch appeared after Geralt slept in his bed at Corvo Biano.

EDIT: Thank goodness that it fixed itself after doing another quest.

I can't believe I'm saying this about an expansion to my favourite game of last year but the bugs I've encountered have been awful in this expansion. I'm currently experiencing one where Geralt won't lower his left arm from the teapot pose. This is throughout gameplay and cutscenes, it's ridiculous.

Fuck sake. This like the 5th pretty significant bug I've had.

My advice is to clear all 10 POI's between the both of them before going back to talk to them.

I was able to meet with the Knights in Velen but my game kept crashing when they headed to Touissant until I downloaded the recent patch.

Are you talking about
the cosplay quest
? If so immediately cast Quen, roll towards the ones who shoot projectiles at you and take them out as soon as possible. Also use northern wind to freeze the mob and pick off ones who are a higher threat first. It'll buy you five seconds of breathing room.

Yeah. I've been using northern wind as well. I get killed insanely quickly. Probably not tanky enough. I'll keep trying.

Is it my imagination, or do the citizens of Toussaint seem much happier than their Velen/Novigrad/Skellige equivalents whenever you challenge them to a game of Gwent?

I'm also playing on DM and would lose like 90% of my health from one of those projectiles. You gotta roll like crazy to dodge them and get behind the casters. It'll put them in a stun animation for a couple of secs, so make them count before they recover.

Don't attack them if they're surrounded by the rest of the mob without the effect of northern wind.

I was really hoping for
O'Dimm
to show up or be mentioned somehow during La Cage Au Fou, since it was clear that the curse was his doing. I liked how the
HoS
theme came on when Geralt told B.B(who suspiciously looks like
O'Dimm
) the story.

The Bank quest was like an episode of Curb your enthusiasm.
Or at least it would have been if the lady called the guards when Geralt tried to use his creeper charm on her. Can't believe that sleazy shit worked.
Great quest. I always loved the way the series (including the novels) handled fantasy bureaucracy.

They do. It's the wine.

You'd be happy to stop working and sit down to have a game of gwent too if you had access to so much good and cheap wine :P

The actual factor though is that there is no war in Toussaint whereas the other regions were plagued by war, famine, civil unrest etc.

Sorry. Completely read over the fact that you already checked the options. I don't know. Have you tried loading a previous save or restart the game?

Tried a couple older saves from last playthrough, he un-sheaths perfectly everytime there's enemies around, but doesn't re-sheath... it used to re-sheath once the music died off and all the enemies were dead.

My main question for those that haven't ticked the Manual sheath option, does yours still re-sheath after combat? Thanks for any advice and thanks Rivyn for the fast response! :)

Question. Just started the game and can't help but notice that there's this....oddly blurry, yet dreamy tone to the graphics of B&W. Has anyone else noticed this? Playing on PC at High/Ultra settings. Is this normal?

Anyone done the treasure hunt quest: Applied escapology? Seems another broken quest for me. Got the key to this chest, opened the chest and quest hasn't completed.

A big flaw of witcher games for me. Lack of polish. At least the devs have passion for the game and clearly do put the effort in where they can.
