GT Sport E3 2016 Trailer

hmmm, Norway is the only area that comes to mind during daylight gameplay that looks "rough". Mostly due to the brown/orange trees.

But overall Driveclub is on another level compared to what we're seeing here. that 30 v 60 fps difference.

I think all the real race tracks in DC look very, very rough in daylight conditions and those tracks are actually the best comparison to real world tracks in GT.

Nice editing, a bit sad to hear Run Boy Run again, I mean it's like they saw these people on YouTube saying that the first PGW trailer music was "trash", and they decided to put something that everybody already heard, sad, but I can understand the safe move. BTW I can't understand why they keep that PGW track on the last may Trailer.
I would like a innovative/original music like the Piers Baron track for a eventual next trailer. Or maybe directly some in-game music ?

Also, always totally seduced by the color selection UI/Presentation, damn, love this style.

Damn..

you know, GT has got to be the ONLY game that has managed to just.. bridge the gap between the real and virtual versions of the sport. When's the last time you saw Madden or FIFA eSports Tournaments with the same level of drive, sophistication and planning (not to mention SPONSORSHIP) as the real damn thing?

Also, Moon Over The fucking Castle! Hell yeah!

that was a much better trailer than that first one we got, sheesh. but what i found funny was the "a new standard" line. like hasnt GT been pretty much below standards since after GT3-4?

3 for 3 in shit trailers.

Nurburgring has the best looking trees in a racing game.

Only the Isle of Man or bikes being included day 1 will get me to buy this disaster.

I am getting this day one, but this isn't the graphical powerhouse I expected from Polyphony Digital.

But then again, if the driving is right, then that's all that matters.

Gameplay still looks rough.

Wish 7 was happening soon.

You may want to get your eyes checked. It does have its moments there, but it's REALLY rough in some of those gameplay/replay shots.

Even though it could look like it, there's zero actual gameplay in this trailer. It's all from the spectator mode, meaning the physics and other things are not representing actual gameplay. And no my eyes do not need checked when I disagree that these graphics are lacking compared to the actual comparable games I mentioned. And among those, it's only GTS that is unfinished.

Lol that's just not true at all.

Receipts, please.

I have a question.

The explanation for bad physics (update rate/general jankiness) in spectator mode is because of the internet connection and thus the positional updates of each cars - or something to that extend.

Since GTS is more or less online only will i ever actually witness good looking physics outside my own car? What is the difference between spectator mode/ online races regarding the other cars physics calculations?

Um like said earlier, what game out there does esports regardless of genre better? What racer does what GT Sport is doing? This is pretty revolutionary as far as integrating game and real world Motorsports.

looks only ok surprisingly. definitely not what i expected from polyphony on ps4. lack of real time of day is hugely disappointing.

Wow love the photo realistic photo mode, great idea...

Also having an announcer to races with dynamic commentary and a live race feeling, love it

No, they don't.

There are discrepancies though. Plus I'm still generally disappointed with the graphics/dithering/shimering?/poor shadows etc. And no beta....

This is what I don't like: GT Sport website image under graphics versus replay in new trailer. Leaving IQ out it, the tree trunk and general detail are worlds apart. In the description they are clearly muddying the water between what is gameplay and photo-mode graphics, too...

Yeah, visually I have no problem with it, presuming it runs at an unwavering 60fps.

It just isn't as immediately impressive and doesn't signal this-is-next-gen as much as previous games.

I still got the same impressions as I did at the launch event watching that trailer. I don't know if it's a good thing or not. But I'm cautious about it, despite me getting the game anyway.

Compared to other console 60 fps racers like Pcars or Forza it's definitely not lacking in any way.
Yeah...I've got to agree here.

Project CARS has its moments but, generally, it's feels a little rough in places. Maybe a little bland, even. Of course that's fine because it's not supposed to be a visual showcase title (it's multi-platform, after all). Assetto Corsa looks good enough not to grumble about either (again, multi-platform).

GT Sport looks like a step up from both...which isn't surprising. Yes it's a shame the dynamic systems have gone for now but they'll be back. Maybe not in GT Sport but in the inevitable GT7.

Besides that...what it this games main competitor anyway? Personally I don't think it's Project CARS, Assetto Corsa or Forza anyway. This is a focused e-sports title...so maybe something like iRacing is more comparable. How does GT Sport compare to that? Very favourably, I'd say.

I know gamers can be fickle, I mean I'm also disappointed Polyphony Digital decided to break away from a fully featured mainline Gran Turismo, but let them sort this out first. Get the basics down then integrate it with the next mainline Gran Turismo.

Oh...by the way. Hi.

Trailer looks dope. And as far as I can tell, the game itself looks great, although that 60fps takes its toll on PS4.

So, let's talk about PD's fetish on details, shall we? I knew this photo I made three weeks ago would come handy at some point...

They not only included the bikes (which can be found in GT5 as well btw) they even included the fucking window.

Oh...by the way. Hi.

Hi there, cooldawn. Welcome to NeoGAF, that's a great first post!

The photo mode made my heart skip a beat, so I replayed multipul times and realised its actually quite deceptive.

From the trailer it apears that this isn't a traditional photomode and is infact separte from the main game. i.e. your not going to get this image quality if you pause the game and then try and take a photo.

The mode demonstrated in the trailer is called scapes (quite apple esque simplification), in which it appears that you select a landscape and place your car. The landscape is a photo with the surface having prebaked shadowing to make the backgroud perfect. Then the game renders the car as it would in the game.

This mode is testatment to the fantastic car models, but not a traditional photo mode that we are used to.

Now this is what they should have shown the first time.
This looks 10000x better and looks like a game I would actually spend money on

It's always nice seeing people come with comparisons. Like, hey, this is 60fps, don't compare it to DC! Okay, but we can compare DC to Project CARS or Forza. Or we could, back when GT Sports didn't even exist and people were thinking next GT would be DC at 60fps.

But let's get DC aside. Now we compare it to Project CARS. Hey let's forget about advanced physics, heat modelling, damage modelling, or about dynamic weather and time. Let's forget about everything that is not convenient enough.

Then we compare it to iRacing, just because. And yeah, the game wins. My mom wins against iRacing when it comes to graphics. Now, could you please compare what's under the hood for both games? Ah, no, you forgot to do that.

Yeah, GT Sport is aimed at eSports, but it's definetely not competing for the sim sector because it's not a sim.

You're speaking as if the e-sports functionality of GT Sport is already a proven success. At the recent product launch the spectator mode looked laggy and downgraded with simplified visuals and physics, and that was running over a professionally-installed LAN in a controlled environment, using the 'best' drivers. It did not look at all appealing as a spectator sport, and the randomness of the online experience will undoubtedly introduce further problems. I really can't see this being a success. And don't forget: nobody actually asked for any of this. We wanted a GT port, not GT Sport.
