Zelda U/NX promo image leaks from Amazon.com

Why are people losing their shit over this?

Because it's from a game we know shit about and we have been waiting years for it and it's been delayed over and over again and we're thirsty for new info and because it actually looks cool as fuck.

Why are we talking about towers and not about this sinister-looking castle in the middle of the world? Is it Castle Town captured by Ganon? Or is it a Ganon's lair?

Basically all of this.
It'd be no different if it was some other big IP under the same circumstances.

It does go both ways too, you have people proclaiming the game to be "Game of all time" and being somewhat unreasonable at the same time in this thread.

I think we should turn to elements of recent Zeldas and Zelda 1 to look to the design of this game.
Calling it the goat is just an opinion... saying its like ubisoft game already is claiming a fact.. of course its based on an assumption but still. It dont go both way it goes one way.. the way of waiting until tuesday. Just because the towers ubi mechanic is popular doesnt mean theres not another way to make a game interesting. This is why I fuck with Nintendo. I bet money it dont follow that thang verbatim.

I've been real down on Nintendo lately (which hurts me so bad!) over this E3 shit. Then I take a look at that picture and it's like dammit, can't not get excited.

Why couldn't you be coming out this year? :(

I'm getting more hyped than I should. Giving me all sorts of ideas on what to expect, most of them being informed from my recent playtime with MGSV.

"A far inferior game series" that continues to sell like 20 times as more. So yeah, I can believe it.

Lol...20 times as more. So which AC sold 180 million copies?^^

And I doubt the Towers will be warp points. There seem so near to each other sometimes so that i doubt they are used for fast travel.

Analyzing it better it don't know if it's hyrule castle. Compared with e3 2014 artwork and if that building in the center of the image is really castle town so it doesn't appear to be the same as this new one. Even the relative position to death mountain appears to be different.
But who knows, it was just a superficial analysis.

I'm leaning towards the former. Position in the world looks like Castle Town. Castle looks like Hyrule Castle. Looks captured or under the influence of something to one degree or another. Kind of a retread of TP but we'll see how they do it.

People are just having fun. Don't cry ;_;

It's funny Xenoblade X and MGSV are becoming two of my favorite games of all time but I'm dreading Zelda's move to open-world more than anything. As much as I've wanted Zelda to cast of the shackles of OoT's flawed framework and evolve I end up worrying about this entry instead of being super-excited. Hopefully the reveal on Tuesday will squash my fears and the game will actually be the step forward I want it to be.

I'll probably buy the Wii U version because there's no way I'm buying an NX until it has at least one other palpable game than this... but it's very exciting. I might do a replay of the games over Summer, I bought Wind Waker HD and never actually completed it. Seems a very Summery game :)

This is the perfect example of why it's so difficult to reinvent a franchise. Some people don't want change. Some people do want change. Some people say they want change but are super resistant to it when it actually comes.

Maybe its a Shadow Temple?

This should be the OT thread title, the whole thing! Lol :)

Yes!!! That's what I've been saying! Now hoping as well...a new shadow temple would be pretty futching sweet.

So its ok to encourage both sides as long as they balance things out?

I want the change I just don't want it to be influenced by bunch of stupid Western shit or the usual Zelda fan desires that I don't really agree with is all. It's more that I've been pretty displeased with Nintendo's change of direction the last few months and I'm concerned about how they're moving forward. Zelda really shouldn't be affected by all that but until I see it with my own eyes the concern is there.

I don't see how anything we know about so far implies this. And yes, I'm including the towers.

I'm sure it'll have some elements of traditional open-world games but it's going to have plenty of unique ideas as well.

Hmm I think my new gimmick guess a while back was a maxish cap..

My sarcasm detection skills tell me that's a joke but actually it would be a very interesting idea. Aonuma did talk about a "twist" to the open world, so it could be interesting if you can use something like the Giant's Mask from MM to make yourself enormous anywhere in the world, with the same world map.
