Zelda U/NX promo image leaks from Amazon.com

There's been 2 officially released artworks for Zelda U in the past 2 years, and both of them are on the lanyard. It's a lanyard.

I hope they show a scene with a gathering storm causing the grass to wave dramatically

The warm crackling air before a storm = BEST WEATHER

I do hope Link gets the iconic green tunic at some point.

What if Links get split in male and female Link? It would fit well with the recurring duality themes of Zelda and would be a less-shocking way to introduce female Link.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Gender Identities® would certainly be a bold move for Nintendo; but I'm down with that.

Why do people ramble about a NX version? Chances are it'll be near identical to the Wii U version anyway, just like Twilight Princess was identical between GameCube and Wii, the Wii U version may even be better (tailored for the system). The chances the graphics are remade for the NX are virtually null.

They're probably going to continue to mess with and expand the climbing mechanic as the game goes on in standard Nintendo fashion.

Situation 1: You have to climb a cliff.

Situation 2: You have to climb a cliff, but you're also being chased by by flying robots who are shooting lasers at you.

Situation 3: You have to climb a cliff, but there is a giant monster eating the mountain from underneath at the same time.

And so on.

Well, Link already had a sister, so this wouldn't be the first time.

And this is a much better option than female Link.

No its THE lanyard they are handing out to press. And they are seemingly the only two images on it.

That means the two characters/appearances are important enough to highlight a duality between them.

The Wii was essentially a Gamecube in terms of technical performance, so it made sense that it wasn't very different. Unless the NX is re-purposed Wii U, I'd expect some visual and technical improvements, even if it's just a higher resolution and maybe a better framerate.

Alternatively, they're just using the only two pieces of art that have been officially revealed before E3

what other pieces of Zelda artwork is there that Nintendo's revealed? It's only those two.

It's going to be pretty interesting if there turns out to be no female option after people got themselves excited for it.

Damn it, Neiteio, I'm trying to make a point here. Don't mess me up with reasonable comparisons.

A twin sister would be a cool way of handling things.

That said I think it's just the angle that gives off that impression in that particular artwork.

Until we know what NX is and therefore NX specifications, this is fairly pointless to discuss. GC/Wii TP was virtually identical because GC/Wii hardware was virtually identical.

Thats why she has on the hood, for the surprise
That feels like a reach, though. Link wears the hood when he rides the horse in this game.

I dunno. Like I said, I don't doubt a gender option, but maybe it's just easy for me to be dismissive when people have said that Link is female in just about every single screenshot and piece of art we've been given so far, including the original trailer.

How do you guys even start thinking that those two pics look like a male and female Link? It's the exact same face, same eyebrows, same blue shirt, same hair, same head size, just minus the hood. Come on.

I'd call a gender option likely at this point, but I think that's the same Link in both images. We saw the original art for both of them, and I really don't think Nintendo would reveal a female Link yet without any fanfare.

Doesn't the hair look longer in the right screenshot though?

not really the eyebrows, nose, eyes, and mouth are different.

To me it looks like it's just a matter of a different face angle and lighting. The only way to discern if the two really are different would be to see both A and B in the exact same pose and lighting. My face looks different from other angles as well.

Detective-GAF needs to move their focus back to the leaked concept art and stop getting distracted by the sisters lanyard.

No one ever said female Link would be at E3. Or voice acting, for that matter. We still have many months leading up to release.
Hmm, sounds like you've heard something, member of the gaming press??

I know you're not saying that but wanted to use that gif

Thing I'm most looking forward to this Tuesday is an end to all this ridiculous 'OMG LINK IS MALE/FEMALE/TRANS/A DOG' talk. I do not give a fuck either way but I am incredibly tired of every new piece of info/art devolving into microscopically analysing pictures in search of possible bust lines.
