I meant that it's obvious that any choice they make regarding gender is going to rise a lot of controversy. This way they can introduce a female Link without her replacing male Link. If it ties nicely into the story and can provide something to gameplay everyone should be ok with it.

Because the NX even if it's a handheld will likely have at least 2x the power of a WiiU at worst. so while I think they will look the same. (The WiiU version will be 720p/30fps like Xenoblade chronicles X. The NX will be 720/60 at minimum) most think that the extra power will be used for additional features

I hope neither side reaches levels where bans are handed out but I wouldn't be surprised. All I care about is how different the game will be on NX. And whether I can change out of those ugly blue tunics, those colors are so last year.

This. I'm actually favourable to being able to choose between male or female Link since you can choose his name already, but this is borderline obsessive here and beyond annoying.
The sad thing is, if Link is just good old male Link, some people will be mad only because of what they made up in their heads.
