Unfortunately. A few have tried. ST at least had her along for the ride and SS was ostensibly about following her on her journey. They've been getting better, but still could do a lot more. Here's hoping she plays a bigger and more interesting role this time around.
Also updated my old shitty MS Paint Zelda U map with speculative regions with a new slightly less shitty MS Paint map with speculative regions.
More than likely those regions contain far more than just the traditional locations we know of from past games. Also not sure if Hyrule Field would only be considered the area within the various rivers at the center of the map or if extends NW/SW into the Gerudo/Snowpeak regions were there is some amount of low lying lands before the mountains separating Gerudo/Snowpeak begin. As well area's like the Kokiri Forest(though it could also be Ordona Province as well) or Hyrule Castle/Town are way bigger than just those locations themselves and now with the Southern/Eastern coastlines there's a whole lot more new areas available. Plus islands.
Still totally blank on the SW corner of the map. Snowpeak seems pretty safe for the central Western region, but the SW is very low lying country according to the map. As low as Hyrule Field area. And rather uniformaly so more than any other area, making me wonder if it's accessible at all.
Also kind of funny that the apparently giant snowy mountain to the West doesn't have some kind of tributary leading to Lake Hylia even though that would be the greatest source of fresh water. Maybe it feeds into from under water. That could be a pretty cool set piece traveling through an underground river, but very unlikely.
