Scalebound (XB1/PC, 2017) Xbox E3 Briefing 2016

For those that think this looked FUN, I honestly am curious about what looks fun about it?

I just can't wrap my head around those that are indignantly questioning the majority of people that say it looked boring. It's damn near a cultural difference.

As a long time fighting fan this demo made the game look kinda bad, lots of long ranged shooting & moves which revolved around standing in place X and wait for something to happen that triggers a qte like attack. Not a very good fighting game on the face of things.

Boy does it have some of the wimpiest looking bow gameplay ever lol.

I hate how games tend to design it so the only feedback you get is a bar getting smaller over an enemies head or some numbers popping up with each attack. I like my enemies to react to my damage in a way that makes it clear when I'm attacking the right spot and when I'm not and giving me a distinct audio/visual feedback. This game doesn't really do this except for the most obvious and blatant actions like the heart being exposed for damage. Come on Kamiya...

The entire trailer I was thinking "any second now it's gonna look cool as shit"...but it never did.

Same, kinda like the Sunset Overdrive debut trailer where it starts out generic shooter then gets crazy fun. But yeah, this demo was just sad, and I feel the coop element is largely to blame.

Why do so many Japanese protagonists in games have headphones on? They're fighting these enormous monsters and they just need to have tunes going?

Edit: I guess in this case he could conceivably be communicating with team members, but still, it's a weird trend.

I'm hoping Kamiya is making the game he wants to.
I'm also hoping it was just a boring boss fight and regular gameplay will be better.

This

this might be underwhelming, but it's not hold button to combo/hold button to dodge nonsense.

Okami is like God's creation compared to Wonderful 101.

Honestly I like both but I enjoyed W101 a lot more.

They should have hired Ninja Theory for this game.

I know that PG gotta pay their bills and shit, but this game really looks like a waste of time for them.

Their new game looks awful too so I'm not sure how that would have helped.

The gameplay speed wasn't something that really added to my engagement of the Platinum games I've played. In fact, I like the slower more mainstream like approach! It looks so accessible!

Jesus H. Christ.

I can't watch the video right now, but I can already tell by the reactions of different familiar users that this isn't going to be pretty.

I wonder if the bosses will have one difficulty or if it's scale bound.

Hyping it up as "the biggest boss battle in a Platinum game" only to show something smaller and far more boring than almost every boss in Bayo 2 was a real dick move.

That's the worst part about this. Instead of making the next phase in action gaming (the successor to Bayonetta) we get this bland thing.

The bow gameplay is just pitiful. The arm animation after he looses an arrow says it all.

Thought it looked really bad during the demo, but I was thinking most here would be all over this... but apparently not.

I wonder if the bosses will have one difficulty or if it's scale bound.

There was quite a few bad stage demos during the MS conference. This was one of them. Really did not sell me on it at all.

That was always going to be a rather dubious claim considering the end of W101, but they really under-delivered the whole way through.

That looked like an ugly bastard child of Lost Planet and Monster Hunter.

I find some reactions quite hilarious, I mean, what was shown was bad since it was Kamiya just running around firing tiny arrows that had no impact whatsoever but what we know so far about the game is actually better so I think it's just a bad demo, that doesn't mean we'll get a bad game, specially when it's a 2017 game.

Something about this game bored me. The previous reveal was okay and I was interested but this trailer was boring as hell and the protag is annoying. The headphones was cringy just like his voice lines.

I am going write this one off. Oh well.
