You mean like the live orchestra and the crash reveal?

Get real dude

Agreed and I immensely enjoyed the music. But I would have liked to hear from more devs or seen more live demos etc. This was just a little too streamlined IMO. Not a bad show by any means though.

And lol @ mentioning Crash.

Sony's conference 8/10. Pacing was a million times better than their previous conference. God of War, Horizon, Resident Evil, Detroit all look amazing. Spiderman looks promising, but I need to see more. I have hope though. That Mars VR game also looks good. and Kojima's game looks literally insane, but we haven't actually seen anything, so have to wait on that one too. Days Gone also looks cool, but another tps zombie game... and kind of an underwhelming ending for the conference.

And that Crash troll... Hey, at least we're getting a remaster of the first 3.

Why did everything look like the Last of Us?

it's sort of true

Compared to what? Zelda U/NX? Horizon looks good, but c'mon, the new Zelda looks like a Miyazaki film.

From what we've seen its looked rough, actual gameplay that it. I own a WiiU so I'm all for Zelda blowing my mind but seeing a game with a generation in visuals ahead of WiiU and horseback combat probably made a few Nintendo guys nervous

That being said I hope Zelda does blow my mind, but this will be nintendos first open world Zelda game so I'm not counting on it.

God of War was a pleasant surprise, Days Gone looks good, Horizon looks good, Crash reveal shit the bed, Still don't give a shit about VR. Kojima basically just showed up, Spiderman looks great.

I dunno, no real megatons I guess. Really solid showings.

Solid show

8/10

So what happened to Knack 2?

maybe because Cerny is working on Death Stranding now ;)

I thought the conference was pretty good, didn't really have long stretches where it dragged (wonderbook, powers, etc.) and showed several new games. The bombshells were definitely not as big as last year (except for maybe RE7), but it was all put together well.

Sony had a stinker, all their big hitters got shown up by COD in space - that was the only interesting thing shown all night.

Gran Turismo only shown for 5 seconds... oh how the mighty have fallen.

I thought "Days Gone" looked great..

I also think it looks awesome, they just need to improve gunplay and the zombie's reactions to the shooting.

We don't know a lot but visually it's beautiful and it got lots of potential with the motorcycle traveling in a post apocalyptic world theme, I'm intrigued.

Giantbomb underwhelmed. Shocker.

I love those guys, but they don't seem to get much joy from these events. I don't know what a good press conference would look like to them.

At least I know that if Jeff actually likes something I should probably check it out.

Not wrestling though. Never wrestling.

Best conference of the show by far and best Sony showing since the unveiling of the PS4. It did what it was supposed to do, which is reaffirm people's purchase decision and promise a lot of great looking games to come.

This show put the MS one to shame. Sony did the smartest and most logical thing they possibly could've, which is reassure gamers confidence in THIS GEN as opposed to the next .5 one or whatever-the-fuck.

Fuck the future, gamers want to be satisfied now and Sony showed why now is the best time to own a PS4.

Only thing it lacks is confirmed 2016 release dates other than The Last Guardian.

Was this their worst showing since forever or am I still blinded because last year was a goat?
it pretty awful

apparently showing trailers of games shown last year and still have no release date + generic western action game #98888 plus a crash bandicoot skylander is enough tho

I'm just glad that it seems like Sony is doubling down on big budget singleplayer games. I'm so sick of multiplayer.

The lack of indies or smaller titles was pretty disappointing though.

Funny to see people's reactions come back to Earth... It was a good show, albeit not 2015-level in my view (I doubt anything will be) a very strong showing.

Well done Sony.

Good content, bad presentation maybe?
Nope, presentation was great, it was just a big focus on Sony’s WWS and there AAA single player focused games. That’s pretty much what Sony does...

The variety is there is you think about all the games announced, what wasn’t shown etc...This conference just comes down to if you like what you saw or not. Pacing and presentation was on point...

That was a weird damn conference, even though a lot of the games and announcements were actually quite good.

God of War looked 10 times more interesting than I thought it would, Horizon still looks amazing, full Crash remaster is honestly better than a new game, Detroit looks like David Cage is going back to a more a Heavy Ran/Fahrenheit style game which I'm all for, a high budget Spiderman game could actually be pretty good and I'm all for seeing what crazy shit Kojima has going on.

But all in all the whole thing just felt disjointed and almost left you with a lot more questions than answers, which feels like the complete opposite of what should be happening. They honestly needed more people telling me about what their overall vision was and about the games themselves. And why was it so short in general? Sony usually do around 2 hours, this was less than 75 minutes. Overall the conference felt like either an experiment gone wrong or just like they didn't have enough time to make a decent, coherent conference.

Wow, very impressed by Sonys conference.
Some good things coming out,..

But wtf, i swear i saw something saying Rockstar has something big planned, or expecting big things.
And people, (like me) were hoping for RDR2, and maybe a Remaster or something ffs.
Total let down in that regard :(

Everything else was awesome!

Death Stranding is so far the stand out of the show for me. That trailer was amazing. Excited to see Zelda stuff as well, but I don't think anything there will surprise me like that did.

I was only passively paying attention, but what I did see was decently impressive.

PSVR though...I thought most of the games for that looked terrible. Too many performance issues it seemed liked. Some of that could be chalked up to internet and streaming issues, but I'm not too sure it was due to that.

They definitely cut some Neo info. This is so short and end in a weird way. Maybe they find Neo not good enough compared to MS's new console.

I'm kind of confused at what people are seeing in Days Gone. It looks like a really generic shooter that's trying to step on Last of Us's toes visually with a gimmick of lots of zombies being on screen at once. It looks super uninspired

I loved the presentation of the conference. No cringe or bullshit from hosts I don't care about. That's all marketing speak anyway, it's vapid and nonsense. No words of substance are ever uttered.

The games are what matter. I just wish I had seen anything I'd wanted to actually buy. Some stuff to be cautious about (GoW, Horizon, PSVR, Kojima's game we'll play in 2020). And a lot of stuff I couldn't give less of a shit about (Detroit, Days Gone, RE7).

I liked the conference, because first party games were shown and that's all which matters to me. These 3rd parties just doing online connected games with mixed open world, it's getting so boring.

I can see why people would not like the Sony conference or games shown, there's lots of people here with bad taste which is seen with the love for shit like Star Wars and Comicbook movies, but I ain't gonna judge when I'm watching Dragonball as a grown arse man. :P

Fuck VR though, anyone that didn't like that has exquisite taste like me.
