What are you most excited for?

I'm not feeling Days Gone. :/

How many zombie games does one generation need anyway.

I honestly don't think the ending demo was originally planned. That seemed tacked on and rushed (which is why it looked like a very early alpha build). They probably had plans on talking about Neo, then scrapped those plans, and needed filler. The conference didn't run its allotted time, for reference.

Nah. They put out a statement that they weren't going to talk about the Neo way before E3. I'm thinking they might have wanted to end it off with RDR (the insiders seemed to be hinting that R* would make an appearance at Sony's stage but they were a no-show).

They did great imho

A+

Probably the best conference with all the pacing and stuff

Idk why people are saying it's awful or whatever:

1.You did not get any wonderbook bs except for the Crash shenanigans
2. No vita vita vita (sorry vita folks)
3.did not dwell too much on "indies" that had been the "meme" card for people that say sony shows too much indie
4. No Destiny, dragged on gameplay or whatever
5. It was a straight reveal to reveal and gameplay to gameplay
6.Downside is basically some of the games don't have the exact dates yet and stuff .

Overall the conference was A 9.5/10

Would have been 10 if they had at least Rockstar to show up.

Awesome conference imho

Holy shit people hated this conference? Damn they blew my away lol. I thought it was amazing.

I was thinking to myself 'if only every conference was presented the same as this one"...

Where Sony stood out to me more than any other conference this year was the announcement of new games and new IP.

A lot of other conferences focused on further looks into games announced and shown at E3/Gamescom. I can understand the appeal of that for some, especially getting detailed looks on the games you'll be playing this winter/spring, however seeing another trailer, or yet another gameplay demo for a game thats been at every main conference for the past 2 years just doesnt appeal to me.

So, yes while many of the Sony announcement are 2017 (likely a handful to slip into 2018) i as still excited to see new games, new ip, that i hadnt yet seen.

Yeah I think it's fair to say that Sony sees E3 as the big games/AAA while PSX is more focused on Indies.

Just got back from the theater e3 experience. Holy shit that was amazing! When the orchestra started playing I thought the theater might have played the wrong stream. Nope! It was Sony being classy as hell! Goddamn! Sony made the other conferences look like the free bread you get at a restaurant and Sony was the rib-eye steak dinner!

I still need to process all the amazing games we saw. 10/10 conference!

Only thing I was surprised by was I expected a PS4 slim to arrive at the end unless they are just going shrunk parts in the same box and a different design for Neo later.

Careful out there... All of the main plot points for FFXV may have just been leaked/spoiled.

If what is being said is true, the game itself is in damage control right now, structurally.

That's actually a good idea, it helps reduce customer confusion.

It was all right. A bit shooter heavy for my tastes. I'd give it a 6/10. I think last year spoiled me.

Yeah, it was. But unfortunately High Budget Blockbuster games tend to involve shooting of some type and this was a conference about Blockbuster games.

gotta say that might have been their best conference in years. really excellent pacing and a nice selection of what makes the ps4 stand out.

He said that after the Scorpio news was leaked though. I really do think their plans for ps4k changed in the last two months.

If it changed in the last two months there was plenty of time to replace it with something else in the conference right?
The situation is different, they don't want to announce things early when games showing clear differences are not ready and they don't want to hurt sales of the current PS4 before they can execute on a rational strategy which includes a price cut on the current model.
Their plans with Neo aren't changed but they might tweak their messaging and positioning when they announce it based on Microsoft's announcements.

Thank god for that.

The dialogue was still pretty stilted imo. With dramatic pauses and honestly, pretty corny lines. It made me chuckle.

I agree the dialogue wasn't exactly natural but the game direction is looking very interesting. It's cool how many different branches there are for 1 scenario instead of the standard 2 or 3 in most games.

It reminded me of Virtue's Last Reward

Too bad no Vita. Guess it really is dead.

Blockbuster games that are not "and also" are done appearing on the Vita.
It's going to get ports and indie games, that's it :(

And yet through all of that amazingness, no Sucker Punch!(?) Where've they been and what are they up to..? I was hopin' we'd at least hear a little peep from them around this time o' year...

I think focusing on the current hardware will really pay off for Sony. Especially if price drops happen.

Microsoft meanwhile is trying to sell a $400 box this holiday while also telling you that next year will be the most powerful monster ever.

I wonder if they will continue to produce the old Xbox one concurrently with the Xbox one s, or if it will phase out the old models entirely.

Hopefully all of their conferences going forward are paced like this and others follow suit. I hope the custom XB1 controllers sell so much that they want to get a piece of the pie and get something similar. I'm getting 2 for my Xbox and I'd easily get 2 for PS4 also.

Days Gone looked so bad to me. That and the weird Kojima reveal were the only low points of the show to me, with almost everything else being exciting(besides Lego/Skylanders). Horizon shot WAY up my radar and GoW looked great. Detroit has my interest as well.

Getting rid of my XB1 and getting an S purely for media since there will be literally ZERO reason for me to ever buy an Xbox game on console again it seems. I'm probably in for a couple of those custom controllers too. Between that and all the PS4/PC games coming in the next 6-8 months, going to have a lot of buying to do.
Nah, I’m so very much interested to see what the heck Kojima is making now. Looks like some Matrix Mind-foolery going on! Next time he shows it has to be some gameplay, but that was enough for hype, it’s Kojima! He gets hype for brining a project to E3 and smiling again.

I think one big difference between Sony and MS is how many new games were shown and mentioned for the first time. MS took the "only showing games that have release dates" approach while Sony went future viewing.

Not disagreeing or agreeing with your main point. Just adding my thoughts.

There are many ways to dissect Microsoft's and Sony's press conferences and discuss which was better. As to showing games that are releasing soon versus later, I think it's also fair to talk about how many newly revealed exclusive titles were announced versus already announced ones.

To the best of my knowledge, Microsoft announced two exclusive games, Forza Horizon 3 and Halo Wars 2 - and one of those, Forza, is in the category of it's all but assumed to be announced just like we expected a Call of Duty and Battlefield game this year.

Sony had God of War, Spider-Man, Death Stranding, and Days Gone. None of those are coming out this year, and maybe only one will even release by next year, but I still value announcing new games at E3 over showing more of already announced games as a general rule. E3 is about the newness and the surprises. If Crash Bandicoot trilogy is exclusive, that's just one more feather in Sony's cap.

I guess what I'm trying to say is while watching Microsoft's conference, I consciously felt like I wasn't seeing a lot of new games that can only be played on the Xbox One, whereas with Sony I felt like several exclusive games were announced. That excites me more.

Also, I think the fact that Sony is spreading their games out throughout the year hurts them being able to show off a big title or two at E3 and have it come out that same year.

A couple of these new game reveals were much further along than I expected them to be, gotta have stuff for E3 2017 :)

True, and they presented that really well too. I don't play QD's games for their excellent writing anyway.

It should be clear now, that many people aren´t attracted by storydriven SP-games, which Sony are producing. Thats ok. Objectively Sony delivered to their target audience big time.

People should accept, that Sony has no interest in certain types of games (as 1st-party). Gamers had over a decade to adjust to the style of the big 3 Sony, MS and Nintendo.

Going ham in 2016, that Sony is dishing out Sony-games is kinda funny. Like complaining about BMW releasing cars. If you want a bike, go to that other company.

yeah, this. by now, Sony have more or less defined what style of games they're focusing on. and as a fan of story drive single player games. this conferences is nothing short of amazing. I want to play almost all the games here.

God of War and Detroit is a huge stand out for me because GoW looks amazing and interesting. and I love that Detroit is like Heavy Rain on steroid. that was a great trailer to showcase the branching path narrative style of games. it's insane how many outcome from that 1 scene alone.

Fantastic conference. Sony has really come along way and now they are clearly BY FAR the best in the biz.

Everything looked great. Fucking everything! Their studios are pushing tech like its no ones business. Its insane.

I don't even know what I liked most tbh, I'll just throw my most anticipated titles "for now" cause it will probably change every day.

1. Spiderman- Holy shit its what we imagined it to be and its real. Hopefully they have a full narrative and you know Insomniac will nail the gameplay. So glad I bought Ratchet and Clank recently to inadvertently support this game :D

2. GOW4- Come on. How the fuck does it look this good. I still need to see more gameplay but you know they will have a bunch of new weapons which is super exciting. I love the old GOW games, but I'm excited to play something fresh and new. That's what next gen is about.

3. Horizon- K we've seen it a few times now. Its not a fluke, this game looks LEGIT. Very deep and very diverse. Its got everything.

4. Days Gone - I like the scavenging mixed with crazy ass hordes of Zombies. So much chaos but still slow at times, great contrast. Its from a studio I don't have much experience with so that is cool.

5. Detriot - LOVE Heavy Rain, don't like Beyond, this is Heavy Rain x 10. The choice gameplay makes its comeback, thank God. Writing was fine too.

Awesome conference imho
I gave last year an A+ so this is A- Should have ended with something other than Bend’s game and Lego section and COD was a bit too long. Also, the montage could have been longer and showed some indy games as well.

Still, as far as PS dominance is concerned it’s no question about it, MS have pretty much given up this gen and are just trying to reset next Holiday. So much content coming to Sony’s box its ridiculous. We should have another epic PSX this year.

Also, who needs a Neo? These games look great!

Im trying to tell myself that I should be excited, but I'm just not. I think I was hoping for Del Toro still or something, or maybe because everything is so cryptic and I'm really confused. Either way it's a good think that Kojima is officially back at it, and with someone he has a relationship with to boot. It was definitely unique in tone, no matter whatever else I think.

This conference made no sense, so many crazy announcements, yet it was so short, it felt like they could've added another hour just with games we already now are comming.

Tons of stuff left for TGS and Gamescom.

Dad of War, Crash Bandicoot and Detroit are day 1 for me. Death Stranding is a possible purchase depending on WTF it actually is. The rest was stuff that doesn't really interest me.

And where was Sucker Punch? :p

So why was Sony's conference cut down? I thought it was supposed to be 90 minutes but ended up just over 60? Seems like that final demo was a quick tack on the end.

Detroit really blew me away. That game wasn't on my radar at all yet that trailer looked incredibly impressive and reminded me why I liked Heavy Rain so much. Looks like Quantic Dream has created a more polished take on their own formula which is a tantalizing thought.

The internet and HD video makes it so easy to share info about existing titles, so I get the emphasis on new titles. The idea is to attract people to watch the conference and get them interested in upcoming titles that they will hopefully keep on their radar.

I agree 100% especially with MS now making sure that Window 10 is going to be apart of the Xbox ecosystem watching MS conference made me just want to get a PC.

With Sony I was happy about my PS4 purchase and I wanted to hear detail about the PS4neo so that I could continue gaming with Sony
