Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

I'm fine with weapon durability as long as the better weapons can be repaired. I am too anal to ever use good weapons if I'm afraid that they'll go away forever.

I understand where y'all are coming from, but I like weapon durability. I like to have to prepare and maintain shit. I guess I'm an outlier.

It is one of my least favorite mechanics in games. Some survival games use it as a core mechanic and that makes sense but some games use it just for no real reason.

Whenever Nintendo shows a game, I feel like people's gaming expectations regress 10 years.

"there's loot!?"
"Oh you can climb?"
"you can turn an apple into a baked apple?!?"
"Crafting??? Fuuuuck"

One hell of a handicap

You know what Zelda needed? Weapon durability :/

I dunno there was a recent Zelda-inspired indie game called Warden that had that and it honestly wasnt that bad. If the game keeps giving you a steady stream of replacements via the enemies/environment it should be okay.

Weapon durability is necessary when they have a "loot" system like this. Literally no reason to have these multiple drops if there's no durability.

Agree 100%. Makes me feel like a crazy person. My reaction is like "...okay..."

Yeah it's like....people act like it's revolutionary. 'OH MY GOD LOOT! OH MY GOD THAT OPEN WORLD!'

Oh god durability. That does not sound fun in a zelda game. Not at all.

So this is pretty much Fallout. Wake up from cryo-sleep in underground facility and explore post apocalyptic Hyrule

Too much of this game feels like Wind Waker to not be heavily related to it.

Enemies are nearly the same design wise, enemy deaths are even the exact same.

You have to qualify everything with the suffix "IN A NINTENDO GAME". I don't think anyone is giving it a pass but it is fun to see Nintendo catch up and put their twist on these things.

Yep. They get credit for shit that has been industry standard for years.

Eh, I just really don't like the durability aspect of things. It's like...to me Zelda is about using the unique stuff and not having it break/having to find another of it.

i'm to the part where Link scares the old man with the sudden "i am now swinging around an inflamed stick" thing

and i am goddamn captivated

love the crew's reactions so far, also. good stuff all around

Wind Waker already had that stuff, though. I don't recall if they broke or not, but you constantly switched weapons. This really feels like Wind Waker with the water replaced with more interesting environments.
