Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

And I thought the Pokemon complaints were going to be the most embarrassing thing in the thread.

Destroyer of Worlds has returned.

The framerate definitely is hitchy at times, it is not just the stream. Noticed it especially in the beginning: on the mountain looking at the waterfall it was very choppy, and other times later as well. Well there's still time to optimize, but this will not be a the smoothest of games I guess, somewhat expect due to the nature of it all.

That said, this is by far the most excited I've ever been for a Zelda game, all of it looks amazing.

I really liked what I saw of the shrines. For mini-dungeon trials they're pretty well designed and you get to unlock cool accessories and stuff. I wonder if we'll get a look at a real dungeon this E3. Maybe not? Very curious about seeing a real dungeon + boss...
If there are really only 4 dungeons like people have been saying then they should be cautious showing them off.

Liking what I see with the shrines and Audrey made sure to point out the shrines get more complex as you progress so that is great news

These mini dungeons seem a bit too mini to me. Hope the later ones are a bit longer and at least take 15-20 minutes to complete.

They did say on the stream that these early shrines are more of just an intro to the various items and mechanics and as you get further through them they get more complex and challenging.

My hope is that even though there may be a limited number of large dungeons, there are still a lot of bosses. Shrines look great though, should be a great addition to the series to mix up puzzles and visuals.

If we're going by what they said at E32014, then you will be running into bosses on the field just traveling around.

Yep, Horizon dethroned. I can understand the amount of time they decided to give to this game now. It's huge and there's so much to show and talk about.

Horizon is probably my second favorite game showed so far and it's odd how similar it is turning out to be to this Zelda.

Monster Hunter esque combat.

Yeah I don't think we're getting to see dungeons till the NX reveal. Loving what they have shown so far though. Looks amazing and the sense of exploration looks incredible. Game of the show by some way.

I don't really need more bosses. Just memorable ones. 8-10 are more than enough, even if this is a 50-100 hour game, as long as each one bookends a major dungeon that feels really unique and special.

4 dungeons? What? No way. What is this, Wind Waker 2? :P

Why a new threa----- oh. Come on, guys : /

Anyways, this game. THIS. FFFFF. GAME. Has exceeded my expectations so far on every single aspect. I simply cannot wait to dive into this world and spend 2929380 hours in it. Loving that there's no handholding, no forceful tutorials, no long intros. Just a few backstory and you're free to go whatever you want and discover stuff and characters on the go. Graphics of course are not the best thing ever but they are beautiful enough to stand on it's own. Like Wind Waker meets Studio Ghibli. I think I already liked this E3 from Nintendo way more than last year.

Except the Pokémon stuff at the beginning since I'm not much into Pokémon anymore.

Crazy that all they are doing has absolutely nothing with the story to do.

It's all side quest stuff.

This game is huge.

Bump. New thread, check the warning in the OP and stop embarrassing yourselves.

Thank you for this.

On topic: Healing items seem too frequent and exploitable. Hopefully they'll cull the numbers in hero mode (if not rendering it practically useless with one-hit death).

It wasn't really that bad. I've seen things like this worse in hundreds of threads on GAF. Why single this one out? Plus it was already dying out when you locked it.

She wasn't negotiating with you, she was telling you, but no I don't think it's appropriate to tell women they should put up with sexual harassment because it isn't that bad, there's worse sexual harassment anywhere, and anyway the men were eventually going to stop it.

I wish the eating/healing wasn't instant. In Skyward Sword, the potions were used in real time while in combat. That was a lot better for creating tension when you are low hp.

So the shrines are all stasis pods for Sheikah?

Sweet. Also the incorporating the teardrop symbol of the Sheikah Eye into the upgrade symbol was design genius.

Chiko - raiding people's houses, burning everything down.

That lady is hardcore.

Oh, and the weapons have very different movesets, lovely!

Alright i think that's enough for me. Got some good gameplay. Getting just a tid bit boring now. Can't wait to get my hands on it though.
