that facebook post is just the political equivalent of look at how EVERYONE said leicester couldn't win the league, they were 5,000/1!!

it kinda makes me like brexit. what a ridiculous group of underdogs. i thought the political and business establishment was meant to control everything!

if only it wasn't for the whole brexit being a truly terrible outcome thing

If me and you are having a discussion and I put my evidence across, but at the end I call you a dick...

I instantly lost the argument, it does not matter how valid my point may of been, I have resorted to insult to try to win..

instant loss
I wouldn't say anything there was an insult, at worst they're opinions.

The Leave campaign really only is win-win.

Leave? Everything wrong in Britain is because of the EU.
Stay? Everything wrong in Britain is because of the EU.

Can't wait for a isolated England with that blond muppet as PM, blaming everything on someone else.

I just read that as "This is what happens if you go against our plans" Your in jail son and we wont let you out. If you do get out we will make your life a living hell.

Some people are threatening out of pure strategy, but look at this following list...

Enjoyed this little gem I saw on Facebook...

There's no way that every diplomatic agreement with all of the nations listed here (represented by their leaders) would hold up under Brexit. And those are legitimate grievances that other nations can have; my biggest issue with Leave is the idea that only the bad parts of the EU will go away, but everything great that the UK has will just get better magically. Driving that wedge may mean a country like the US has to choose which side to back in a deal, the UK or EU. And I can guarantee which one will get left out.

Yeah I am certainly under the impression that Leave has made significant gains in the last week or two. I was fairly sure Remain would win, but not anymore. But even if Leave would win, they'd just continue running referendums until the correct answer won.
What on earth makes you think that? The opposite is far more likely that remain wins and leave will never shut up.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics...-company-eu-policies-fish-processing-aberdeen

Michael Gove’s father has contradicted claims made by his son that the family’s fish processing firm in Aberdeen was destroyed by the European Union’s fisheries policies.

Ernest Gove told the Guardian that he sold the business voluntarily because the fishing industry in Aberdeen was being hit by a range of different factors. These included competition for space in the port from North Sea oil vessels, the Icelandic cod wars, dockworkers’ strikes and new 200-mile limits to control over-fishing.

Ernest Gove told the Guardian that he did believe the industry in Scotland “more or less collapsed down” after the EU became involved in fisheries policy, but he said he sold his firm voluntarily, as a going concern. “It wasn’t any hardship or things like that. I just decided to call it a day and sold up my business and went on to work with someone else,” he said.

“ couldn’t see any future in it, that type of thing, the business that I had, so I wasn’t going to go into all the trouble of having hardship. I just decided to sell up and get a job with someone else. That was all.”

oof. I'm just dodging most articles on the arguments pro/against because they're so bad.

Aren't EU overfishing preventative measures the reason the fishing industry isn't permanently gone? That was always mentioned in Geography lessons along with oxbow lakes.

Farage friend says he's been approached by Boris camp about job in Johnson govt & place in Lords to avoid fighting possible Thanet by-elect

Farage denies he's been approached by Boris camp about job in Govt, but repeatedly refuses to deny he'd take such a job

Farage is certainly going to help in negotiation with the EU.

so the emergency budget is dead in the water

Jeremy Corbyn said they will not support it (despite Osbourne claiming Labour would) plus 57 Tory MP's

so all that bull crap was for nothing

Check this...deplorable nonsense and made to look like an idiot.

Irregardless of which side you're on, you're not English if this doesn't give you an erection.

The BBC was round Gove's family home a few days ago talking about that EU fishing thing having a massive impact on him. His parents were on camera!

I think there are a lot of Labour strategists hoping the UK votes Leave. Immigration is the one area where Labour completely disagrees with its heartland and they've made virtually no headway in the last 10 years convincing them the public that they are right, you take immigration control and the EU out of their hands and suddenly the NHS is the key issue at the next general election, which Boris & UKIP are both on record wanting to sell off.

Sure, but it's totally unfair that the fishermen weren't allowed to choose to fish themselves out of business. IT'S THEIR CHOICE DAMNIT.

Well, no. Overfishing was an issue before the CAP and remains and issue following the CAP. It has done nothing to reduce the depletion of European fish stocks.

Cameron told to bugger off from appearing with the Edna Kenny because he's a liability. I can't help but laugh.

Cameron has pissed everyone off in his time, he's labeled everyone and everything a threat to national security, his own party fucking hates him.

Just watched someone on BBC news whos argument for leaving was:

There are immigrants taking our jerbs.
"But there is hardly any immigration in your area?"
They are coming for our jerbs!

Yeah that's it mate, fuck facts.

Well hopefully this crumbles the housing market and I get a house for next to nothing next year.

Between the real effects Brexit will have on the economy, insecurity which will probably delay investment, and the announcement of tax raises and spending cuts, this looks like a perfect storm for the UKs economy.

You might be able to get a bargain in The City or Docklands.

The Osborne emergency budget has basically already been stopped.

The Sun going for out-and-out lying now.

sss.jpg

Spin and slant are hardly unknown in newspapers, but the front page of Wednesday’s Sun subjected the truth to such aggressive editing as to give a completely upside-down impression of what was going on in financial markets.

A day after the newspaper’s front page editorial, beseeching voters to “BeLEAVE in Britain”, the tabloid put together a bizarre pastiche involving Remain’s dwindling poll lead, “nasty Euro moths” and what a large sub-headline described as a “Brexit Rocket Boost to Shares”. What makes this last item the stand-out in this bizarre brew is that the big financial story overnight had been the £30bn wiped off the FTSE on Tuesday, which was widely thought to be associated with the surging position of the leave camp in the latest polls.

The “rocket-boost” claim was repeated and attributed to “analysis” in the text of the story on the front page, but only readers who pressed on to the bottom of the second column of the story on the second page got any indication of what this claim was based on, a Deutsche Bank research note which observed that European shares were set to tank by around 10% in the event of Britain voting leave, but also suggested that the slide in UK shares could be somewhat smaller, leading to a relative over-performance of around 5%.

The “rocket booster” then turns out to be not an increase, but a smaller decline than that witnessed elsewhere. And even that is a highly speculative suggestion. To highlight this figure after a trading session when the the London markets had been in freefall is a little bit like splashing on somebody predicting that Manchester United might win the league next year, the evening after they had suffered a five-nil defeat. The basis for Deutsche Bank’s prediction, by the way, was that Brexit would trigger such a run on the pound that UK exports would get cheaper, making them easier to sell.

Corbyn: Labour will not support any Brexit punishment budget

Any other Chancellor would have been driven out of Westminster by now, he is absolutely fucking useless. He can't even get imaginary budgets right.

Yeah he is a clown, but the alternatives to him are frankly scary and would certainly hasten the end for the NHS and fuck knows what other dreadful possibilities, now if only Labour had elected a viable leader, the next election would have been won already with all this nonsense amongst the tories, but instead they elected a dinosaur from the 60s, though to be fair with the ongoing mess between Osborne, pig boy and the three stooges of leave even he might be able to take advantage of the forthcoming tory civil war.

65 Tory MP's now.

Short of an overwhelming victory for remain, I reckon we'll see fresh elections soon.

I think tories with self implode and yeah election seems unavoidable now, should be interesting results, the infighting will surely damage them, but can anyone step up and replace them, maybe labour can quickly remove Corbyn especially if leave wins because there are many conservative voters who will be pissed at a leave vote.

I get the criticism of Corbyn, but until the party finds someone who can unite the left he's as good as anybody else.

The movement is in a right pickle, pleasing London, Scotland and the North is almost impossible at the moment.

Honestly...fuck off with this shit, suddenly when the polls are not in their favour we are hearing more reforms...

utter bullshit, Cameron tried and failed

Home Secretary Theresa May has said the government "should look at further reform" of free movement of people, if the UK stays in the EU.
Speaking exclusively to the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg, she said she understood concerns over immigration but leaving the EU was not a "silver bullet".
Mrs May, who backs Remain, denied she had "been quiet" during the campaign.
She listed the economy and jobs, security, and Britain's "place in the world" as reasons to stay in the EU.

conformation the Tory party is about to tear itself apart

"Smart guy, stupid move" - one of the kindest descriptions by Leave MPs of George Osborne's Brexit Budget move.
This campaign has already been marked by bitter disputes and astonishingly personal attacks.
But the fact that dozens of Conservative MPs have been willing to sign up to criticise the chancellor so very publicly today illustrates that some bonds have been broken beyond repair - and that the conduct of the referendum has damaged George Osborne's reputation among his colleagues.
Vote Leave isn't just edging towards presenting an alternative view of Tory government, but a coup in waiting.
It is certainly bold, if not extreme, for a chancellor to sketch out a hypothetical budget in this way - with warnings of cuts and tax rises.
But the motivation is clear - with the referendum, and careers on the line, the Remain camp still believes their best hope is to shout about the potential downsides to the economy we'd all feel if we vote to leave.
As one insider put it they are going with the grain of public anxiety - with the economic consensus that leaving is a huge gamble with the country's prosperity on their side.
But shout too loudly, and the message might simply deafen, rather than persuade.

The leave campaign got it spot on with using Gove a lot, he is so calm collected, he is a great debater you can tell

Referring to his performance on question time at the moment

it is the simple things, when Cameron does these things you can see all he wants to do is say what he thinks (sometimes not even what the question was) where Gove waits for the person to actually finish speaking

IIRC Gove is (was) they guy who coaches and reheareses with Cameron before election debates, PMQ's and interview's etc. So he's well versed in this arena.

Gove is very articulate but just as shady as the rest, watching it now and he is very much performing, id have far more respect if he would directly answer the question about "bumps in the road" and "legitimate fears about leaving" but he wont.

It makes it incredibly hard to trust someone who will only ever tell you their side of the story.
