Final Fantasy XV: Airship Type-F Gameplay Trailer

This game is so bipolar, every time I see it it shifts from the coolest looking thing ever to complete shit and back again. I don't know what to think anymore.

Flying car looks cool. The scale of the game seems ridiculous.

Where did the Campanile (the big clock tower) go, that is so typical for Venice and certainly a Venice-inspired city? :(

Here with campanile next to the multiple domed cathedral:

And here already without (from the Uncovered event world trailer):

i mean i don't know if it's actually their language but it's in there so who knows just don't break my dream

Thanks for pointing that out. I watched the trailer a few times, and was confused as to where you got the information from.

It must be cool living in Venice; maybe you'll see Noctis and co. at a nearby cafe. :)

I was ready to write this game off after the abysmal showings at Microsoft's/Sony's press conferences but that Altissia video is incredible

Apparently the game now you lets play in active mode which has you pressing the button in order to attack instead of holding it. In this mode you have to press while in the default mode you can hold it.

Wasn't it always like that though? We were always able to just hold or mash the attack button. Only difference would be if attacks are 1:1.

That's...definitely an "air ship". Yep, it's certainly an "air ship", alright.

At least it's not a car that has a hot air balloon attached to the roof of the vehicle.

The city design changed a bit from the CG trailer.

Just reminded me how far we are still behind CG quality lol (especially water)

The sony trailer they showed was fine, but the MS stage demo was terrible. Terrible way to show off the game as that wasn't even a traditional battle.

Everything they've shown since then has been on point.

It is quite literally a flying car and they make no bones about it. I mean look at it, it's a car and it sprouts wings to fly. FF has never taken itself entirely seriously.

didn't they also say that several location couldn't be reached until you upgraded the car/airship like 7 times?

By the time you get the airship you would be at the end game so the map will pretty much be open. However, the upgrades are for better landing on different terrains.

Hope those canals in Altissia are one way only.

Would really suck to be cruising down a long stretch and meet another boat going the other direction.

I hope this is true. Good news if so. Holding a button feels lame compared to timing button presses properly.

I'll tell you this: the games comes out one month after i'll have left Venice and come back living in my hometown, after i lived there for 3 years (university).
Combine this with 10 years of XV as my most anticipated game ever, and you can imagine how this game is now literally making full circle with my life.
We going full meta man.

Honestly if possible at all (wishful thinking) they should release the duscae demo for everyone with the changed battle design so everyone can try it out with different enemies. That way its not just a giant we fight over and over again.

Doesn't have to include all the elements of the full game, I think just including the battle system from platinum demo with the active option would work so well.

But then that's my wishful thinking lol

Very happy to see how this is shaping up, it'll be a GOTY contender if the console performance is ironed out by launch. The content looks like a real return to form for the series -- just keep it at 30fps!

Yup--even Final Fantasy I has you traversing a big world. It's time to go back to the roots.

Also, can anyone at E3 confirm if the console demos play like the footage we've been seeing? lol

There's been a lot of reports saying the demo crashes and has pretty bad performance. An Ars Technica preview of the first two hours of the game concurs, and adds in the existence of game-breaking bugs.
