It doesn't benefit the warriors for Bogut to be out obviously but Lebron isn't going to all of a sudden have a layup line with Bogut out. He gets under 20 min a game and hasn't exactly been a presence save for one game.

I didn't say it would. 20 minutes a game is nothing to sneeze at, though the Warriors are more equipped than any other team in the league to make the necessary adjustments.

So is Draymond really the linchpin for the entire team? That's kinda surprising TBH. Warriors should be able to close the deal tomorrow. A game 7 would be bonkers.

They're a defensive team and he's the second best defender in the league. Makes sense.

Hard to say when Lebron and Kyrie had two all-time performances in the same game, and Curry and Barnes missed wide open shots.

I was responding to comments (not by you ) made in this thread that Lebron and Kyrie would suddenly have easy paths to the basket now that Bogut is out.

Its not uncommon to lose your confidence when you get hurt.

Confidence and vision is usually separates the very good from the great.

Not taking shots is one thing but mental mistakes like being at the wrong spot on an offensive play or setting a screen in an empty space is another. His body language doesn't come off as lacking confidence (maybe it is). But I don't think his issues are 100% injuries.

Yeah, defense has been much better with the Draymond at center lineups. Can switch 1-5 and wall off the paint.

But like Gully said, when Draymond rests will be key. Have to get non-disaster minutes from Ezeli.
He can play 42 minutes, he rested enough for g5.

This new schedule sucks. Bring back a game every 2 days after this.

lol, so we knew philly was getting the number 1 draft pick, we knew golden state was going to the finals while still playing okc, and now we know they get game 6

this isn't getting suspicious or anything..

Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy believes that the league decided to suspend Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a better chance to extend the NBA Finals.

Speaking on SI Now, Donaghy, who was forced out of the league in 2007 after his involvement in a gambling scheme was discovered, said that the NBA indirectly acts to increase the entertainment value of games.

IMO he's the actual MVP of the Warriors. Even more valuable than Curry because of what he brings on the defensive end. I'm not sure why that's surprising.

Lets not leave this part out of the Donaghy piece:
"In the past, I believe it (Dirty Dray's antics) was disregarded because [the Warriors] were down in the series."

What happened to to bron's 3 pt jumper. It's not physical arm strength because he is built like Zeus himself. Whats going on?

I agree Draymond can provide offense, defense and playmaking. Dray is the MVP of GSW, still like Klay better though

You shoot with your legs. One of the problems he's had the last couple of years is that hes shifted to using more arm I think. It looked good yesterday though.

Lebron seems to not use his legs with anything. His legs always look so stiff. Has he had knee problems?

Bron has always had crappy shooting mechanics.

He did have enough confidence to shoot and make it when he was wide open on the Heat but that was like a 2 year thing.

Tim Donaghy is a desperate crook who is going to pop up any time there is a remotely controversial NBA story so he can get his shitty name back in the news. I figured people would stop humoring him by now.

After Basketball reasons, is there any reason to doubt this? The NBA will do what is in its best interest even if that means tampering in suspensions or blocking trades.

Basketball reasons was a good move by the league. They owned the team and they weren't going to let a shitty gm make an awful trade.

Oh please, the NBA didn't prolong shit.

Maybe Kerr should keep Draymond in line from time to time. Warriors are good enough to overcome losing Green. Curry shows up big they win that game, if the Dubs don't miss wide-open shots, maybe they win that game.

The thing is the conspiracy theorists and jerk off like Donagy are going to twist anything to fit their narrative. If the league didn't suspend Draymond and the Warriors won in 5 it'd be "Oh the league wants to protect their new golden boy/dynasty"

Didn't the Lakers traded turn out to be better?

The proposed (and briefly agreed-upon deal): Paul to the Lakers; Pau Gasol to the Houston Rockets; and Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, Luis Scola and a first-round draft pick (from Houston via New York) to the Hornets.

Vs

The Clippers will send guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul. The Clippers will also receive two future second-round picks.

In retrospect, yeah probably. I have no problem with a trade being rejected if it's not the best deal, just not publicly in that way. The biggest problem with "Basketball Reasons" was how terribly the NBA handled it. Letting a trade get basically announced, a few owners bitch about it, and then it gets rescinded. They should have just prohibited the Hornets from making ANY trades until the team was sold as it was a clear conflict of interest.

The actual players would have been better but it would've been a bad trade.

If tristan thompson could hit free throws and kevin love played like he did on the timberwolves maybe the cavs would have a shot at winning the series, but the problem is they don't have enough offensive output. The warriors bench is just too deep for the cavs to handle

Because CP3 is an irreplaceable, MVP-level player and no one would ever be stupid enough to trade him for a handful of beans?

The Cavs might have the two best offensive weapons in the series. This shit is far from certain.

I think LeBron bulking up when he returned to Cleveland really affected his outside shooting. He was less bulky in Miami and his stint there is I believe his best years FG% and 3FG% wise. Seems to have lost some of his control in the strength of his shot.

3 days between games is ridiculous. If it goes to game 7, they will have dragged this thing nearly into July. And don't be surprised if it turns into 4 days at some point and actually ends in July.

No, it makes sense since it is East vs. West. If it was Miami vs. Portland, for instance, they would finish Game 5 at around 10 PM Pacific time, shower, do interviews, get on the bus, go to the airport and fly out around 1 AM. Fly for 6-7 hours, and get to Miami at 11 AM the next day. Media need to travel as well. Asking them to play a game the next day can decrease the quality of play.

Wait, what? Where are you getting this from?

My understanding is that James has averaged 20 pounds lighter since returning to Cleveland. He weighed around 270 during his stint in Miami and has clocked in around 250 since. His paleo slimming was well documented at the time.

Not necessarily referring to his weight, but muscle build. He looks more muscular right now than he was before, maybe my eyes are fooling me lol. But he seems to have hit the weight room more and his shots look more pointed. I believe he did enter "skinny" in 2014 season though, you are correct that he weighs less right now than when in Miami.

Chris Paul is a proven loser. Nothing MVP-like about him. Guess he gets some nice stats in losing efforts.

CP3 is just stuck on an era where pass-first PGs are already outdated and can only take you so far. His style would have worked if he played with a dominant scorer. Plus he's injury prone.
