Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

Why is it cheaper for me to buy the Witcher Trilogy bundle than it is for me to just buy Wild Hunt. I already own 1 and 2, can I gift them or something but still keep 3 for myself?

I was really hoping for 50% off Dragon's Dogma, 33% is no better than retail prices here. Looking at my wishlist of 40 games, only three have a discount of more than 60%.

Is there an easy way to add games from your wishlist to your cart? Seems like I have to go the store page for each individually, which is taking forever right now.

It looks like buying the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics collection is the better buy than buying the individual packs if:

1) You want the Sonic games (though Humble will probably add the missing games next week)
2) You want the Toe Jam & Earl games (they're 2.50 a piece, which basically covers the difference in price between buying the individual packs)

All the individual packs together come to $9.35, but don't have any of the above.
The collection comes to $15.49 and includes everything, which is way over the $6.14 difference.

Does anyone else want a sale on Beyond Good and Evil?

I ask because I'm about to cave and buy it, after waiting through 2 Summer Sales and corresponding Winter/Spring sales for a decent price.

As soon as I buy this game, it will be in a bundle or Ubi will give to away out of the kindness in their hearts as one last "FUCK YOU" to me.
They're probably not thinking of a discount because they can't fathom anyone wanting to play it NOT having it at this point. :p

never forget

Earlier: bought trading cards weeks prior so badges were ready for the sale.

Now: sale has nothing to do with cards; event card prices are dropping (and the market's hosed so you can't even sell cards).

Okay, I'll still end up getting my money back, but it definitely hasn't panned out as well as I thought...

I just feel like PC gaming has gotten to big in the past couple years. Steam doesn't need to offer the sales they used to, kinda sucks because these were some awesome times.

Yeah, a lot of pubs used to think of PC as just an extra revenue source, but now that PC has grown and quite a few people have moved over from console they've realized they should charge more.

Invisible Inc, Blood Bowl2, and maybe Black Mesa, all look good to me.
Though with only 6.30 to spend in my steam wallet, gonna be tough goings (Operation Matriarchy is basically bought)
Also, am i blind or is there no game or easter egg hunt within the sale?

Enhanced Steam must be getting hammered too, I can't seem to get any data to load with it.

Yep, it got a few mentions in PC Gamer and other online sources around the world, so I'm seeing higher-than-usual-even-for-a-steam-sale kind of traffic on the servers.

Ill go deeply into my wishlist later because I just cba right now with steam being half borked, but Im actually going to go out on a limb and say this sale is better than the last one.

If you just look at the featured deals it looks bad (hell, it IS bad) but there are some good deals to be found on stuff that hasnt been this deep before, more than last time I believe.

I still maintain that 20% and 10% off isstupid and you might aswell not have a discount at all then

http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/498/ <-- $0.24 for three turds
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/567 <-- $0.42 for 11 turds, this might be your all-time lowest per-game price ever
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/800/ <-- $0.74 for 6 awful anime garbage turds
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/473 <-- $0.30 for three dog related turds
(some numbers might be slightly different depending on which turds you own or don't own already)

just in case you guys want to maximize the +1s for your dollar

Whats the difference between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record?

Dead Rising 2 Off the Record tells the same events from a slightly different perspective and you play as the main character of Dead Rising 1. I don't know exactly how far they diverge in terms of content.

So buying things (every $10) won't give you cards anymore?

Normally I try to hold myself to "-75% or bust" on these things, but I'm starting to think I might as well pull the trigger on Lightning Returns at -50%. By the time it drops any lower, I'll probably be dead of old age. :p

No Flash Sales/Daily Deals yet again, huh? They're really sticking to their guns on that aren't they? What a shame.

People liked this better when they did it last year. People said they liked not having to wait for flash/daily prices.

Apparently sales numbers went up. So they've stuck with this for every sale since.

Payday 2 is like £3.50?

Is it a good game?

NO.

Payday 2 is the biggest scam on Steam. The DLC weapons are deliberately overpowered, they've held updates behind enough people pre-ordering their new DLC packs, and they insult their fanbase the entire way. Even with the removal of the stat-boosting microtransactions, the game is still a ludicrous cash sink with awful gameplay. AVOID.

Ugh, I got to the final step of the purchase process and it's been sitting on this screen for 10 minutes:

Any thoughts on what I should do? Refresh the page? I don't want to be double charged...

Stardew Valley
Rocketbirds
King Arthur's Gold
7 Days to Die
Dragonball Xenoverse

$40

Not the best sale in terms of discounts (except Rocketbirds being 85% off) but that's not bad for the games I'm getting.

Not too happy at the Skyrim Legendary price....
You might be better off waiting for someone like Bundlestars, etc. to sell Skyrim Legendary Edition, because they sell it as it existed previously (its own SKU) instead of as the Steam bundle version. But it's approximately the same price, 40 or so dollars, but they might be able to sell it at 66, 75% off, whereas Bethesda has it set to 59% for the sale.

It's just that Bethesda knows everyone who wanted it prior to E3 this year bought it already. You had almost 3 or 4 years to do so, and this is them able to charge a premium for everyone who wants the free Skyrim SE.

In some ways yes, in other ways no. The remaster removes the 32-bit limitations from the game, meaning modders will be able to do even crazier things with the new version.

Oh, had no idea. Good thing I already grabbed the Legendary Edition a long time back then

It's more of a pragmatic solution due to the refund system. Valve would be overloaded with requests die to the inherent confusion of daily vs standard discounts.

I wouldn't refresh the page

I know....

I can't remember, are they having all possible sales out at once or is it going back to daily sales?

It looks like its the same format as the last two steam summer/winter sales - the sales begin on day one, and last the entire 2 weeks. No new daily sales or anything like that, although sometimes some new games get price changes during the 2 weeks.

Also re: buying things, every $10 definitely gives you summer trading cards still. I saw it on the checkout page, with a progress bar towards the next card. You can get 3 cards per day with discovery queue, and (unlimited I presume) at 1 card per $10 spend.

Will you be double charged? I mean, mine just keeps failing to complete, so I don't think any transactions are actually being made. Unless there's something here I'm missing. I think you have to get a timeout message or something to be sure of what's going on.

Are people really that surprised about Skyrim and the DLC/Legendary edition not being super discounted right after they announce that you get the new version later this year for free if you own all the DLC?
