God knows why a business needs to take their servers down for 8-10hrs every time they deploy new code. Always in peak hours for us Europeans - thanks Capcom.

This is absolutely something rooted in the past. Most online games never have downtime for updates. This is nothing new, many online games do this and SFV is no different.

No, why would it be? There's no need to take systems down for 8-10 hours to deploy code. Unless they're doing all their testing in their live environments. Who else is doing this?Is this sarcasm?
I'd really like to know what takes 8 hours of maintenance every time they do maintenance.

Capcom really needs to tear their server shit down wholesale and rebuild it back up if we get a Season 2.

Given some of the other implementation details regarding CFN and their online infrastructure, this would not be surprising. It's a very poor implementation even compared to other Japanese developers and it makes me wonder how Capcom would handle an actual hit mobile game if/when they get one.No, why would it be? OP needs to move to the greatest country in the world instead of living in Yurop.
What other fighting game does this with any frequency at all
I don't see this thread ending well.

Wouldnt be NeoGaf without a negative SFV thread.
Could be worse. Its not like this happens every week.
Not saying the 8 hour wait isnt ridiculous. But there is hardly any other Fighting game that has monthly DLC updates like this.
Because its an online game and that is what you do to make sure things stay operational. I don't know why this is unexpected.

100% fine with that. The biggest issue I have with it is the inability to earn Fight Money.
Did ASW pull the XrdR servers down when Dizzy was added?
Other games don't do this anywhere close to this degree.
