The biggest objective flaw with BvS was how hard it is to follow. Almost everything else is subjective. UC solves a big problem a lot of people had with it.

From the very start they told us that he was only a side character. Jared Leto was barely ever with the cast when we heard about stuff being filmed. Sure their marketing might have showed him off a bit much, but any one paying attention to the movies development should have known he was never a huge element of it.
Anyway, for actual fans of the comic he was never going to be the draw of the movie for them.

And what about casual fans/general audiences who don't pay attention to that stuff and saw him plastered on every poster?

@manthx Apparently "Bye Bye!" scene and the scene of Joker slapping Margot in the streets is not in the final film.

Aka my avatar scene isn't even in the movie :(

Also, do we really need this thread, a review thread, AND a spoiler thread this time around? The review thread essentially turns into the un-official OT thread and this thread dies once the movie comes out cause you can't talk spoilers in here.

Don't you deny me my chaos

Bait and switching when it comes to over-advertising specific roles is a pretty common occurrence. If the movie is good, people won't care.

Look at the marketing for Inglorious Basterds. Waltz had like double of the lines of Pitt in the film, but the trailers make it seem like the Brad Pitt Show.

That movie was so freaking boring. Skull Island looks better.

I agree. I had a pretty nasty bout of the flu a couple of months back and was basically stuck in bed. I bought Godzilla because, well, it's fucking Godzilla, and goddamn if that wasn't the sloggiest of slogs to get through.

People comparing Joker to Godzilla? When there wasn't Godzilla there was Cranston and when Cranston exited the film, there was nothing interesting to throw back to when Godzilla wasn't on the screen. Can't compare that to Suicide Squad where you have a whole ensemble of super powered characters.

Godzilla's trailer was a fucking amazing and beautiful movie.
Agreed.

Not defending their marketing at all. I'm just happy that it's becoming less of the Joker show.

Currently the only worry I have is Will Smith being "Not muh Deadshot" and a few of too much romanticising Harley and the Joker when ideally she needs to be emancipated from him from the off. Harley without Joker actually comes close to being an actual character sometimes.

Truth.

.

Normally I'd say that wouldn't happen. But after the Ghostbusters clusterfuck...I just don't know anymore. Nerds are fickle as fuck to such matters.

I see Dash is working overtime already at the slightest amount of criticism of SS. Beautiful.

I love you too sunshine!

Fucking dc what? The byebye scene was in the old ending and got dropped when reshoots happened.

A really cool moment from the trailer that I liked is now gone and I don't like this, you know, because I thought it was cool.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
So I've never seen Watchmen. Bestbuy has the director's cut for $6 w/ $8 to see this movie. Think that's a good deal?

Most definitely. Can't lose deal since you'll be saving on the movie ticket for a film you were probably going to see.

Director's Cut is long, but I found it enjoyable. I rewatched some of Snyder's past films earlier this year. Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead are the ones that I think have aged the best. And the former I probably like even more now than I did watching the theatrical cut. 300 on the other hand...not so much.

I'm betting the ending got changed because the Joker's character got changed. Based on what I'm reading from people who've seen it,
the Joker isn't really that bad of a guy in this film.
As hard as that is to believe, that seems to be the case. Consider the fact that they cut the scene where the Joker
slaps Harley.
Says a lot about the direction they wanted to take him.

Yep. They are picturing him as a sympathetic character, for some reason. I bet it's because of Harley, I was sure they weren't going to the dark places of their relationship.

Maybe they are leaving their options open, so they can have him as a squad member in the sequel if need be.
