CNBC and NBC reporters have sources saying Trump campaign staff in disarray

I am convinced that most of the GOP establishment and operatives just endorsed him knowing that he would crash and burn before the GE, thus proving once and for all how bad and incompetent he was.

If they had denied him the nomination Trump would have said that he had failed because of them. It's a bit cynical but sometimes it's just a good strategy to wait for your opponent to simply undo himself before taking over.

I don't think the GOP establishment has any kind of "strategy" much less any kind of consensus on how to move forward.

So which will happen first. Trump using a racial slur or calling Hillary the c-word? Would you take a bet on either
and much would it boost his polls with his base
?

If he goes down with the ship he is taking several of them with him. So I don't think that is the case at all, there was cynicism at play but not in that direction.

Dunno if it would give him a boost but it definitely wouldn't hurt him with his base. They are like a cult and will follow him no matter what.

I thought this was possible until Ryan endorsed him. If this was the plan he would never have done that.

Ain't nobody forgetting this ever. Ever.

He's not done though. His takedown of Rubio shows he still has political utility on a stage.

<snort> too perfect.

They are all going to play deaf now? lol

edit:

So i havent really visited political talk forums for over a decade so i decided to hit up the places i used to go to (Democratic Underground for the Left and Rightnation.us for the Right). ive no idea if Rightnation is still the popular place to go but the forums seem in disarray. Everyone blaming each other for the rise of Trump. Seeing the panic among the hardcore Right is a nice way to start the day.

That never would have been a good strategy. which would lead me to believe you're correct.

either way it's stupid and fucks them. They look incompetent now for endorsing him, it shows their poor sense of judgment and leadership.

Holy shit.

Holy shit.

But who plays Donald Trump?

It'll be like the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Robert Ford will play himself in the adaptation of his actual life story and the "momentous" and "huge" events surrounding his presidential campaign in 2016. He will then be shot by a random stranger looking to get back at him for his past misdeeds well after the fact.

Has a nominee ever quit after being selected?

Trump has his voter base, but everybody else appears to be jumping ship.

The only reason the polls don't show a landslide against Trump is because the Republicans have done a great job these past two decades in caricaturing Hillary as dishonest and corrupt.

There's no way he'll last to November, he's going to drop out

No way. His ego won't let him. No matter how many staffers he loses, no matter who unendorses him, no matter how many inexperienced cult members he has to hire to fill the holes in his campaign, he'll stick with it to the end.

He has had many ventures that have failed and in each hes cut and run. If he thinks he will lose he will just walk away from the game and claim victory. Hes already been saying that the election is rigged in favor of Hillary so the groundwork is starting to be laid out.

The amount of spin it's going to take to sell free tuition/debt forgiveness to lower/middle-class whites as a negative should be impressive.

I mean, I'm sure it will succeed because Republican voters have unlocked all the cheevos for voting against their self-interests, but where exactly does he think all that debt is sitting?

Haven't we heard this for months? There's been rumors that the GOP is going to turn on him any minute but it never happens. I'll take this news with a grain of salt. One bigger than Trump's hands that's for sure.

The question is which is more embarrassing to his ego, dropping out or losing.

He already has his losing fallback in place. "Election was rigged". Dropping out before it's over, though? I don't see it. There's no way to save face. No one in history has ever dropped out. What would he tell his supporters to do, stay home?

It's going to be funny if what takes Trump down isn't saying outrageous things, but simply running out of money.

This is basically already happening. His campaign probably has very little funds for ad spend and his strategy of free coverage through the media is backfiring now that even Fox News is pushing against his spokesperson's bullshit.

It works in tandem though because his outrageous bullshit is a contributing factor to why he cant get donations.
