CNBC and NBC reporters have sources saying Trump campaign staff in disarray

Haven't we heard this for months? There's been rumors that the GOP is going to turn on him any minute but it never happens. I'll take this news with a grain of salt. One bigger than Trump's hands that's for sure.

The difference is Republicans are now publicly endorsing Clinton. Including big time donors like Meg Whitman. Dominos are falling.

I am convinced that most of the GOP establishment and operatives just endorsed him knowing that he would crash and burn before the GE, thus proving once and for all how bad and incompetent he was.

If they had denied him the nomination Trump would have said that he had failed because of them. It's a bit cynical but sometimes it's just a good strategy to wait for your opponent to simply undo himself before taking over.

Nah, it's because many of them thought the supreme court nominations and the party as an institution meant more than individual concerns over Trump. Criticizing the party nominee is going to have repercussions in other elections up and down the ticket.

The question is which is more embarrassing to his ego, dropping out or losing.

He already has his losing fallback in place. "Election was rigged". Dropping out before it's over, though? I don't see it. There's no way to save face. No one in history has ever dropped out. What would he tell his supporters to do, stay home?

I don't think it matters. Like Mark Cuban said, Trump has already doubled-to-tripled his worth whether he loses or quits.

Keeping it 1600 explained last week that Trump's campaign is unbelievably starved of decent operatives. Normally the presidential campaign is full of the A-tier political operatives of your party - everyone wants to be involved. It's how you make your reputation in the field.

Trump hasn't even been able to scrounge together a few B-tier operatives. *No-one* at any decent level in the party wants to go near him. In particular, foreign policy is a massive black hole (and why Manaforts Russian connections are clearly bearing fruit) - the Republican foreign policy establishment is ideologically opposed to everything he says.

(You also have to remember that on the whole the republican policy and political operatives are split from the base anyways. They tend to be much more socially liberal than the republican base, particularly on the gay rights issue).

It was a few episodes ago, but I believe it was on that podcast that they joked "What's this gap in your resume? Are you sure you weren't working for the Trump campaign? (Response) Nope, I was in prison."

I don't think it matters. Like Mark Cuban said, Trump has already doubled-to-tripled his worth whether he loses or quits.

Oh it matters. His status and perception is more important to him than the money. That's why he attacks any perceived slight. The money is nothing more than a symbol of his power and prowess.

In his mind, he can spin losing and try to maintain face. He can't spin dropping out.

T-minus six hours before he drops out after this one:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/08/trump-asked-advisor-why-cant-we-use-nuclear-weapons.html?mid=twitter_nymag

On this morning’s episode of Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough dropped a bomb about Donald Trump. During a conversation with former CIA director Michael Hayden, Scarborough said a “foreign policy expert on the international level” advised Trump several months ago and the Republican nominee for president asked questions about nuclear weapons that might terrify you.

“Three times he asked about the use of nuclear weapons. At one point, ‘If we have them, why can’t we use them?’,” Scarborough said that Trump had inquired. “Three times in an hour briefing, ‘Why can’t we use nuclear weapons?’”

I imagine his emails aren't much longer than his tweets. He doesn't have the attention span to write more than 140 characters.

wasn't it said that he doesn't have a computer and that his secretary does everything for him anyway

The HBO movie about this will be amazing.

But who plays Donald Trump?

Perhaps this was Jon Stewart's HBO project all along.

How awesome would it be if they were filming a behind the scenes documentary similar to Mitt for Trump's campaign.

Holy hell.

The dude wants to nuke ISIS doesn't he? Screw any innocents that die because of it. They are Muslims anyway.

This is why he never wants to tell his plan about "knocking the hell out of ISIS." Because he's going to annihilate an entire section of the world.

Why does Trump keep asking about nukes like he's a child learning about them for the first time? I feel like a lot of his questions could be answered by a 10th grader after learning the basics of the Cold War.

This is basically already happening. His campaign probably has very little funds for ad spend and his strategy of free coverage through the media is backfiring now that even Fox News is pushing against his spokesperson's bullshit.

It works in tandem though because his outrageous bullshit is a contributing factor to why he cant get donations.

Honestly its not even a lack of ad money, I believe it that Trump's campaign doesn't need many TV ads

But he has no GOTV resources. He's going to have no feet on the ground. No-one knocking on doors. He has no cash to run any sort of operation

Republicans have to decide their political futures now. Sure, some may be in areas where they can ride out the the hardline teaparty douchebag rhetoric. But some actually have to keep moderates and people who use their brains voting for them.

Sink or swim time.

Haven't we heard this for months? There's been rumors that the GOP is going to turn on him any minute but it never happens. I'll take this news with a grain of salt. One bigger than Donald "I'm the best 140 character writer in the world" Drumpf's hands that's for sure.

He just started a civil war with Paul Ryan. The end is coming.

I mean, it's not like Trump just suddenly starting saying and tweeting horribly offensive shit. You fucking knew what you were in for dude.

I think it's more that he's now tanking his campaign with his BS (whereas it used to help him in the primaries) and wasting this donor's money.

Pretty sure we should get an orangutan to play Trump. I mean come on. You can't ignore they have similar qualities.

Nobody should play him. I feel like we're already privy to the most interesting Trump parts of the election. Just have him offscreen and have he eventual mega miniseries focus on everyone around him reacting to the insanity.

Admittedly I'm mostly for this because I think having a miniseries about this election season give Trump 0 screen time would make actual Trump explode in rage.

Oragutan could be the body double for blurry background shots, though.

I got a feeling Trump is trying to get as much of the GOP establishment as possible to turn against him, possibly even drive them to endorse Hillary, so he can re-position himself as the anti-establishment insurgent and claim that the GOP turning against him is just a sign that both them and Crooked Hillary are in cahoots to keep Trump (and by extension, the rest of America) down so they can turn the country into a Mexican-BLM-ISIS controlled gay abortion orgy.

I believe I read that he has his emails printed by a staffer in order to read them. Which is incredible.

He's said in interviews he doesn't use email at all. Also has all the online news stories printed out for him to read since it's said he doesn't even use a computer at all. He owns an iPhone and claims to tweet himself but a lot of his tweets come from Android devices as well as iPhones.

Dude is like everyone's stubborn father in regards to tech.

In his mind, he can spin losing and try to maintain face. He can't spin dropping out.
In his mind, he can spin anything. I don't see why he can't use the same basic argument that would work for losing to rationalize dropping out instead. "The system is rigged. I'm like the smartest business man and I know a bad deal when I see one. So I had to walk away, for the sake of my investors...blah, blah, blah."

Imagine this job...to come up with tweets for Trump that immitate the way he speaks and writes.

Fair enough. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "no one has ever dropped out in history", but to your point, why would that stop him? He loves being unprecedented.

I still think it's more likely he flies this flaming turd right into November, but I concede anything is possible.
