Almost sounds like it'll be something close to Thuderstone
That would definintly be great for CMoN, since people are clamoring for more Thunderstone Advance and AEG is acting like the franchise is dead (hopefully they just sell it off to FFG or someone else like they did with Lo5R). A new Thunderstone-type card game is needed, so this could fill that spot nicely (I would much rather it be something like this as opposed to yet another LCG on the market too).

I've yet to play Bloodborne (will remedy that upon getting a PS4 soon) but Eric Lang being involved with the card game means I'll keep an eye on it.

Poked around and found a stream of a recent tabletop gaming expo. The designer gave the following info about the game:

-3-5 player PvE competitive game
-Based off chalice dungeons, “dungeon crawl card game”
-Players start with basic weapon cards
-Improve cards/hand throughout game through shopping (this may happen when players die)
-Players act as hunters
-Monsters appear and engage the players
-Blood obtained from monsters serves as victory points for players
-Monsters attack every player simultaneously
-Dying causes players to lose the blood they have
-Players can opt out of a single combat to bank blood
-However, opting out of combat is a “push your luck” mechanic, as the enemy will survive longer and damage players more over the long run
-Groupthink element despite competitive nature - players may want to deliberately cooperate in certain ways when engaging the monster
-Killing monsters earns players trophies - more trophies earned as more of the same type of monster is killed
-Basic starting cards includes Saw Cleaver and Hunter Pistol
-Hunter cards deal damage and produce effects
-Players simultaneously choose cards to play; collective turn for all players
-Cards executed in player order once they've all been played
-Damaging monsters earns blood
-Monsters have set amount of blood; if no blood remains when you strike, you earn no blood for the combat
-Monsters run away when no damage is taken, thus encouraging players to opt-in to combat and take it down for trophies.
-Only players that damage the monster will get a trophy for killing it
-Monster attacks based on die rolls; emphasizes risk analysis for combat
-Dice can either produce zero damage, or “explode” for infinite rolls if players are very unlucky
-Monster attacks all players simultaneously
-Overall, game is designed to simulate the stiff challenge, dread, and risk/reward nature of Bloodborne's combat, while adding a psychological element as it concerns the cooperation (or lack thereof) among the hunters
-Should release in 2016

didn't enjoy bloodborne but this could be cool. the art style of bloodborne is too good to be wasted on just the video game.

Aaahh, dear Hunter. You have fallen for my trap card! Behold, the Blood-Starved Beast!
I have countered your blood starved beast with my face down card, I reveal to you Ebrietas. Her special move Homing Laser Spam, and Frenzied Blood Lust has blocked your move and reduced Blood Starved Beast to zero.

Very doubtful since Miyazaki said his next game won't be based on dark fantasy.

Bolded for emphasis. Could honestly be a situation where they get other people to direct the sequel.

Would it affect sales? Probably a minor effect. As much as we are familiar with the name Miyazaki, most of the new fans that the game garnered likely wouldn't care so long as it was still from FROM/Sony.
