Star Wars UK just posted trailer comes Friday - so seems it's coming between 7-10pm ET on Thurs - which would be between midnight and 3am Friday for UK, 1-4am for Europe etc...unless a bootleg gets out of the Pete's Dragon screenings that evening.

Vader breathing incoming

Right, it's during the prime time NBC broadcast of the Olympics in the US.

Could just be the one they showed at Celebration but didn't upload online.

I doubt we'll get the exact same trailer. Every Star-Wars trailer/teaser we have so far contained alot of new footage.

The Celebration teaser will most likely remain exclusive with this new one showing alot more of Rogue One minus Darth Vader.

I hope it doesn't ruin the ending and show when the rebels get the plans and then vader_noooooo.gif. roll credits

I was a fan of the first trailer, but yeah I think everyone is hoping for something better. Why would you want something worse?

It's not that I'm hoping for something worse, I'm just expecting more of the same.
Will be pleasantly surprised if the second trailer is significantly better than the first. The footage that we saw at Star Wars Celebration in London wasn't much different from everything else that we'd seen up to that point and I suppose that's where my concern stems from.

To set some expectations - this won't be going theatrically with Pete's Dragon (would've been on http://digitalcinema.bydeluxe.com/site/dlxportal/docs/TrailMix_by_Deluxe_-_WK_33_US.pdf if it was), and given that's the last decently big studio release this month (can you honestly see them putting it with Ben-Hur?), I don't think it'll be sent to theatres. Like another Disney 2nd trailer that happened to debut during sports coverage...

So I'm thinking this'll be something similar - it's more likely IMO to be either the, or maybe an expanded version of, the teaser 2 from Celebration last month, rather than a full 2:30 theatrical trailer. Then that'll I think come early October like with TFA, theatrically with Dr Strange.

I REALLY hope it isn't the trailer that was shown at celebration cus that one was short as hell and reused a lot of clips from the it at one.

Is Gareth Edwards still working on the project or did they Disney executives give him the foot? (because the Disney Executives were reportedly dissatisfied)

On February 11, 2016, Disney executives stated that the film was "virtually completed". Several weeks of pre-scheduled re-shoots began in mid-June 2016. In August 2016, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that uncredited writer of the feature Tony Gilroy had spearheaded the reshoots, in lieu of Edwards, and that Gilroy would have just as much say in the editing (i.e. final cut of the film) as Edwards. Gilroy was initially brought on in order to retool the ending of the film, which was not coming together as hoped, under Edwards direction. Gilroy has a history of taking the reins in the midst of developmental/production issues. After writing for The Bourne Identity, producer Frank Marshall (Kathleen Kennedy's husband) asked Gilroy to direct the film after the departure of Doug Liman. Then, during the development of Edwards' and Warner Bros. 2014 Godzilla reboot, Gilroy was commissioned to do extensive re-writes on the script. He was also present on set during filming of crucial scenes

I dreamed last night that I went to see Rogue One and it was really bad. The plot mostly involved one of the main characters trying to find a bathroom.

Just thought I'd share.

Be careful or you'll have sites report it as fact.

Gilroy was helping out with some additional writing and directing, but Edwards was still involved.
I doubt he's involved for more than contractural and marketing reasons. When a different director handles the reshoots, you're pretty much done.

You mean the Celebration one?

I think it'll be a new one. The Celebration one was a lot of footage from the first trailer.

Blargh, Celebration sorry.

I dunno, the timing is in this weird place where they can do that sort of throwaway trailer.

When you allow yourself to not take these movies so personally, and take them as a fun entertainment, you get so much joy out of them, even 1-3.

I am just happy that the doors to this universe are open again, and I am grateful for everything we get out of it, and all interpretations of the Universe.

5 years ago, I wasn't sure if I would ever see anything Star Wars related on the big screen again in my lifetime.

Yeah, they're not sending this out theatrically so...this is like the second Ultron trailer. Online/TV only, not in theatres.

Anyway - I personally think it's an extended version of the Celebration piece.

Color me excited! (That's the color of red)

It's Star Wars, so I'll probably love it. But all the reshoot stories, and the little snippets coming out about Gilroy essentially taking over for post-production and so on, has me a little iffy. Gareth Edwards is a good director (he's part of the group of directors that likes to shoot expansive action scenes in excessive close-ups, which ruins it for me), but not such a hot storyteller.

But!

I'm still super excited, and can't wait to see the new trailer!

This is a really great perspective. I've grown up with these films, seeing the first one in 1978 and each in the theater on release thereafter. I was sure we'd never see anything beyond the OT for more than a decade. While I'm not a fan of I -- which I found boring, the greatest sin of a Star Wars movie -- II and III had many great moments (and I had a couple too). Above all, though, I was grateful to see Star Wars again on the big screen. I figured that'd be it, but then we got the Clone Wars movie (which wasn't the greatest, but my son watched it in the theater with me as he did III and that made it better) and then this latest batch which really seems to be hitting its stride. I'm thrilled this one will be revisiting the OT and have lots of Empire stuff -- my favorite part of SW. Anyway, sorry for the rambling. =)
