Seems like its unlocked. Runs higher than 30 a lot of times, but never dips below. I haven't heard anyone mention frame dips at all, yet pretty much everyone claims its smoother than 30fps. I don't know. People normally know if its 30 or 60, yet nobody can say for sure on this one. Makes me think its unlocked.

Thats what I thought, it's shocking how people were fooled because "it's a smooth 30". I don't care how solid that 30 is, there's a night and day difference between that and 60 and I don't know how anyone could confuse them.
The only thing that would explain it would be if, as someone else suggested, the framerate isn't locked

Fellas, do we know how deep/varied/plentiful things like ships and guns are? And whether they differ significantly in terms of aesthetics? This is probably what makes or breaks the game for me.
Any special tricks to find where it prompts you to download. I've heard recent downloads include the patch but I just want to make sure

That's what I'm doing. Played about 8 hours and just left the first planet to look for a station to sell stuff. There is just way too much to explore and collect.

Just press start on your controller while hovering over NMS and check for an update. I think the latest patch is 1.03, which you can check in the update history tab.

That would be the 23rd sentinel planet, close to the center of the galaxy.

They cover this in the GDC talk. They basically "taught" the procedural generation system color theory, so colors for environments and planets would complement each other.
