Go to the options menu (OPTION button on the controller) and go to the last tab I think, on the far right. There should be an option to redeem content under the load from checkpoint option.
But I don't want the ship- if I redeem it am I losing my current ship?

edit: Lol, "setting a course" with your pulse drive and then messing about in your inventory while you fly is pretty tasty

sheesh, the average vista in this game is just outrageous

That's one of the nicer looking spacescapes I've seen in this game. Lovely.

Though another factor is I would just like to throw money at some people who are doing an original game concept for a change.

Especially after all the drama they've been through... a flood destroying their office and months of progress, a lawsuit from a big corporation, and death threats. And yet still somehow they got it done.

Oh shit, you have to turn in discoveries. I was wondering why getting units was so hard...

The game is great. Proteus with purpose.

EU PSN store says "release 10-08, available 09-08"

What the hell does this mean? Does it unlock a day early?

Pastelor: Starter planet (named it as such since in the daylight, everything looks pastel).

Lots of dinos and sentient flora. Looks like Venom at night though.

These guys were a family (or at least looked like it since there were two large types and one small) and look vicious, but are grazers and completely docile.

Ship is repaired and found a monolith, but I kinda want to explore the planet a bit more. Theres some floating thing that doesnt look like its outside the atmosphere, and a question mark on the map.

I think if you choose redeem the ship then leave it, you shouldnt be bothered again.

I haven't left the planet I started on after 3 hours. But I am leaving with a shitload of units, discoveries and knowledge. I even met a Gek!

Ah I see. If you set it at a planet will it automatically kick you out into a lower speed once you enter the atmosphere or will you just crash?
You'll slow down, you can't crash.

Edit: Having a hard time deciding whether to 100% my starting planet or jump to the next system...

No, you can decline it but it's a bit better than the ship you start off with. It has an extra inventory slot and slightly better specs.

If you do want it, make sure to transfer over all of your items to the new ship before accepting the trade or they will be lost.

Just on my way to work but I should have my copy by the time I get home today, gonna leave a little early too so i can play the game.

I will have to continue listening to the soundtrack to tie me over. Love the album but a special shout out to escape velocity, that track is simply amazing. Really captures the feeling of trying to break into orbit (i imagine lol), starts hopeful but the tension and sense of dread just builds and builds until you break through and all becomes serene. Listening to it with headphones with your eyes closed brings a feeling I haven't had in music for a long time.

you know my struggle. we are brothers.

Seriously fuck this place, as soon as I leave the atmosphere I'm never looking back.
Yeah dude. My planet is such a radioactive toxic sewer it spawns fucking mutant ninja turtles with rooster heads. Now that I've made it back to the ship though I've grown oddly attached to this place. Need to explore...

If you decline the message doesn't go away :/

I need tips for inventory management. I have resources taking up all my slots because I'm afraid I'll get rid of something that I need later.

This is silly, but that little redeemable message is driving me nuts. It keeps showing up in screenshots.

I guess I'll just accept the preorder ship but I legitimately like the little thing I started off with.

Yeah, it's kinda lame that you need to accept it. It also completely replaces your starting ship :X

The streamer I'm watching is letting viewers help him name animals. Actually works well and is fun/funny.
Exhibit B to why streamers will love this game for years to come. What better way to get your audience involved in your stream?

Exhibit A being every stream is different so there's a legit reason to watch any stream

Initial impressions are that I'm overwhelmed. Maybe I'm just too stupid/old/mentally tired, but I'm just presented by a bunch of information, broken items, notifications, and I'm not sure how to parse any of it.

My suit keeps wearing down as it takes heat damage and all I'm doing is walking around near my ship. I'm also being spammed by "unclaimed items in your inventory" messages, and I can't find anything like that in my menus so I don't know what they mean.

Accept it and then choose to leave it instead of transferring items...I think.

How do I properly quit this game lol?

I guess just make sure you made a restore point by jumping in your ship, and then close out like normal. Games need to be a little more clear about when they save lol

First planet was quite lively, in fact whole system is. Found 2 aliens and a space station already. Are there space stations in every system?

Well 3 crashes so far and the last one wiped 1.5 hours worth of exploring. I had my ships inventory full and a ton of resources in my suit. I found some wildlife and then the game just up and froze. Not a crash like it did earlier, but just froze. After about a few minutes I get a message saying that the application encountered a problem. Go to reload the game and it loads a save from 1.5 hours ago. Go to the options and it shows that the last save was 1.5 hours ago.

I thought the game auto saved on it's own? Is there a manual save option? I am just a little frustrated that all the time I spent just was wasted. Is anyone else having issues with it connecting to the game servers? It took a while and finally did, but when I went to reload the game it says that connection to services are not available.

Outside of that, I was loving the game. Found a cave that took me almost an hour to figure out how to get out of, but found all kinds of resources...of course that got all wiped out due to the game freezing, but up until then was having a blast with the game.

Silly, I guess getting my first actual ship to call my own and get rid of the preorder one is my next goal.

It's 3 and I have a team meeting tomorrow but goddamnit.

Jobbs, that's the preorder ship message. In options, redeem bonus content or whatever.

On the planet, I could feel the size..... But my only point of reference were other open world games.

I just took off on my ship and looking out at the size of the planet gave me goosebumps, then seeing that it would take years to reach the moon at the speed I was flying on the planet and finding my boost......I don't know. Never had this feeling in a videogame ever..... Fucking amazing really.

Very cool discoveries. Lots of variety being shown.

At any rate. If you love sci fi and have always wanted a sim with an incredible atmosphere that is also easy to get into, then here you go. It's a space explorer's dream game.

Is this crossplay? I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

What kind of crossplay could it have? My understanding is that it's a single player game. Can you even visit other players visited/named planets?

Also have they said when keys might be available for PC on sites other than what was stated? I'm a cheap ass and on PC I can't sell this after I'm done so I'm going to need this to be less than $59.99.

How do you properly save your game? And is there a way to bypass the intro when you want to play the game again?

Go to a waypoint or enter and exit your ship seem to be the fastest ways. As for the intro of flying through the galaxy, that's the game loading your save.

The movement is going to be *so* much better with a mouse. Well at least the ground movement, wonder if I'll be able to swap between controller/mouse.
