Klyka - you know there may be stuff in the game which hasn't been on a stream? It's a big universe, after all.

No beef, btw.

It's all good with Klyka. He was including streams, wondering if there's stuff he hadn't seen in them, but he didn't define he was including streams, so I argued based on what is officially announced.

I have no beef with you either man.
Literally all I did was ask you to elaborate which apparently people saw as a terrible attack on the game.

Can't wait till some mod bans me because someone complained that "mean Klyka asked someone a QUESTION in the thread!"

So am I boned. Do I need to go back to my first system?

Unfortunately you can't do the tutorial unless you start a new game.

Basically you should eventually get a hyperdrive schematic from an alien, then get antimatter from an alien, and then that 'quest' is complete.

You might still be able to do this but with the DLC you've bypassed the tutorial section.

Even if you redeem the pre-order DLC it is listed as a separate item from the game in your download list. You can choose in this case, simply download one and ignore the other.

For folks that redeemed the content this issue can be easily avoided.

This is the fault of the developers. Odd that this wasn't tested. I'm sort of confused in my current state. Second system and I have missed key tutorial content.

So just keep going? Will it break my game? Will it continue to badger me about hyperdrive building?

They should really add an (optional) mechanic that the player can set to auto reload resources for the different functions of your suit, ship, etc. if you have them available. I think it's weird to have to do that in the middle of being attacked and whatnot.

Seems more like an ability that would unlock with gear later on.

Shit man, I found a few of those (on the weekend before I had to delete my save) but there were no sentinels so I just walked away with it.

In fact, the planet I was on had hundreds of them. Literally. As far as the eye could see. I didn't think they were important, but obviously now I know...

There were no sentinels nearby so I had no idea they chase you for that. Sentinels also chase you if you destroy too many plants/resources, so they probably just came after you because picking up one of those counts as 'destroying it'.

Slight tech tree spoiler: IIRC
the graviton balls are used for making FTL/warp tech

Thats good to know. I found a planet full of them but as soon as you touch one of them you get 3 wanted stars.

Ill hold on to a couple for the future.

Sorry man, I'm not sure. To get the best experience you may be best deleting your save and starting over.

If you really don't want to do that maybe go back to your starting planet and roam around looking for buildings. You might get a 'transmission from an alien' and that will be them giving you the schematic.

Unless you have the schematic already, in which case build the hyperdrive?

I did finally explore the surrounding moons a little after 3+ hours on my starting planet. I kind of want to go back to mine and explore a little more, maybe look fot an ocean. It's so rich in Plutonium that I can freely use my ship to get around without worrying about fuel and Life support lasts days.

Is there a way to see the schematics you have?

Is it possible for Hello Games to make changes to the procedural mechanics now that the game is out? Say they want to add ringed worlds, or gas giants; is that even possible without resetting the existing universe?

Go to an empty slot on your ship and press X on the empty slot. That will show what you can build and what you need for it.

Aren't they added on to your discoveries?

Has anyone 100% a planet yet?

No but I think you just get 225,000 Units

I think so yeah

Think they already changed a lot with update one, besides the actual 'seed' change

lawl, went out to buy the game, 70€, lol, more like no man's buy

60 would have been fine, hoped for 50 just like u4 at launch but got hit with the 70

Is the origin of the player/explorer something left to the imagination or it something that will develop during the game?

I read there are factions in the game so it made me wonder about the explorer's homeworld. >.>

I'm pretty sure that they said in the stream they did that, just like the day 1 patch, the future updates can and most likely will change how the universe is generated. In that case the planets you have visited and the planet you are on can be very different than they were before.

I'm 15 hours in and
it's been hinted at a few times. Think it's central to the lore.

Excellent OT Legacyzero! The 12th is almost here!!!

Edit: Holy Fuck, this thread is 43 pages already!!!???? O_o

Crazily this is my #1 complaint about the game so far; the preorder ship bugs you with an onscreen message, seemingly can't be refused, and interacts very awkwardly with the tutorial missions because it has a hyperdrive.

It doesn't break the game though.

Here's what happened for me. Spoilered just because some might want to figure things out. There may be multiple ways out of it.

After making my first jump I noticed that you needed warp cells and thus antimatter to make another. On one of the planets in the new system, I found a factory and broke in, which had a recipe for antimatter inside. After crafting one, the tutorial quest having to do with warp cells seemed to sync back up.

That's false advertisement right there.

Damn, that's one of the reasons I grabbed the LE. Still a nice theme though.

I'll probably cancel my LE now, it's pretty expensive here. The Artbook also looks even thinner than the prerelease render.

But the contents clearly states "Dynamic" huh that's one of the things I was wanting from the LE.....

Saying that though I've yet to see a good dynamic theme based on a game that I liked.

Firewatch.

If only there was a way to preload patches on consoles before you put in the retail disc for the first time. This should so be a thing these days.

Question about one of the ruins i found:

There was this ruin with two giant balls that you could move around. There were platforms that looked like they were meant to go in but i couldn't get them in there (I knocked both balls down and couldn't get them back up). Does anything happen when you do get them in there?

So what do we do with the pre-order ship?

Still haven't redeemed it yet.

I abandoned it at the first space station for a cooler looking ship.

Reading the last page though I guess I'm probably also stuck on the whole "create a warp drive" thing, because I did see that quest pop up when I switched ships. I hadn't seen it until then. Will have to check it out after work tomorrow to see if I can find a way around it, as I don't plan to start over until the PC version arrives.

Only played through enough to check out space this morning, but redeemed the DLC ship, so I guess I need to restart the game.

I assume Ill need to actually go into the system and delete the save file to do this? Currently at work now :(

Firewatch.

I could see the firewatch one working actually now you mention it but I've never played the game.

Most of the dyanmic themes with characters always have the characters blocked by the icons and it annoys me to no end.
