Donald Trump suggests 2nd Amendment Folks do something about Hillary

At this point, part of me is starting to think Trump isn't trying to win an election. He's trying to start a coup. The whole "running for president" thing is just a way to draw publicity, legitimize himself, and win loyal followers of the most desperate, angry, misinformed, and well-armed people in the country.

I really hope I'm wrong. All of my friends and family would probably be murdered if there was an uprising (I'm a gay man from Austin, Texas).

GIF police here, feel free to ignore it, but...

This one is terrible, don't use it.

this ex-secret service agent trying to defend trump on air...no words...

figures...he's running for congress...towing the party line lol

Incredible that in a post Gabbi Giffords world, we have a presidential candidate suggesting that his opponent be assassinated.

Truly incredible.

Incredible that in a post-Lincoln world.

Actually no, just incredible. No modifiers necessary.

Amazing to think that in 2008 John McCain interrupted one of his supporters at his own rally to defend Barack against accusations of being "an Arab" and to reassure the crowd that Obama was a "descent man" and no one had anything to fear under his Presidency.

The Grand Old Party has fallen a long, long way since McCain.

To be fair, McCain pretty much directly empowered the Tea Party movement via Palin which sped up the party's progression to where we are today. And he himself has gotten worse in a lot of respects, and in others has just been completely spineless.

so what is a debate between Trump and Hilary even gonna be like?

How does this even work?

Like arguing with a gradeschooler.

He's already talking about demands. They probably won't have any and they'll turn the dates into town halls since he can control those a lot easier.

Does anything George Bush said in his entire presidency compare to the awfulness of what Trump has said in the last year?

Bush wasn't eloquent by any means but I don't ever remember him being a disrespectful, violence-inciting piece of shit the way Trump is. Bush actually made an effort to reach out to the hispanic community, etc, which is partially why he did well enough to win twice. Trump is in a league of his own.

Hillary could win the thing by not saying a single word and just letting Trump talk.

Would she win though? I mean, among people who already were going to support her, sure. But enough people already nod their head and say "Hmm, yeah, that makes sense" whenever he says bullshit that I don't think it would be particularly damaging to him.

An actual debate would be worse. Hillary could hit him like a ton of bricks and he'd be able to shrug it off with 30 seconds of incoherent babbling, a post-debate interview riddled with some "deniably" sexist comments, and a Tweet along the lines of "Crooked Hillary going hard because I won't let you forget about her emails. Sad."

Those people are already going to vote for Trump no matter what.

As actual debates go, she'd destroy him.

Get home, see this, somehow not surprised.

What will it take to get this guy actually arrested? I guess he'd have to flat out say that he wants someone to shoot her.

In Austin? Yeah lol.

Do you think the millions of Trump supporters outside city limits would stay there? I grew up mostly in the suburbs of Austin. It's Fox News land. It's Rush Limbaugh land. And that's just right outside city limits. Hell, North Austin ain't really Austin. Alex Jones broadcasts from this town. This might be one of the most progressive cities in America, but that's because it's the political refugee center of the South, and a few miles away is another world. And most of them hate us.

It amazes me that anyone can say he meant "go out and vote". Everyone knows what he meant and it's discusting that anyone would argue otherwise.

It's like that in almost every major city.

Rednecks are not going to march on population centers, they are terrified of them. If they did they would quickly learn the true purpose of the 2nd amendment (hint: it's not to overthrow the federal government...) and get wrecked.

Don Lemon has been taking less and less shit. I think most journalists are pretty damn tired of trying to pretend that being objective is analogous to both sides being equally right.

Don's always been pretty good at calling out FUD from people he's interviewing.

He's been doing very good. Hard to believe I once disliked him.

I never understood the hate for him personally. CNN does have some trash tier anchors all the same, though.

It's not illegal to call for violence as long as it isn't imminent.

Honestly, if Trump didn't get arrested for suggesting violence against protestors at his rallies, this is probably more legal than that.

Don Lemon seems like he's just tired of hearing all that nonsense. They had another Trump doof on after that segment and all he wanted to talk about was Hillary's emails and how she got four Pinocchios from the Washington Post last week. Lemon wasn't having it and Brian Stelter and Angela Rye shut that noise down real quick.
