So I finally made it to a system that came up as already discovered by another player. Has anyone else seen this yet? I'm going to try to pick up a breadcrumb trail of discoveries from them (if they appear). So far this has been the only one to show up for me on the galactic map. Are the servers too jacked up at this point to pursue this realistically?

A couple questions about inventory stuff:

-Do upgrades really take up inventory slots? I would understand if different gear had different numbers of of upgrade slots but the unified inventory/upgrade stuff is really frustrating.

-How do I look at my other upgrades if all the slots are filled? I want to be able to see if I should replace something without having to remove it first.

-Are there any other Exo suits? I've seen other ships and other multitools but I really need some more inventory space on my suit. Trying to save up cash for a new ship right now.

-How do you get Altas Passes?

At the point I am at currently, ships that have a lot of open inventory slots go for well over 1,000,000 units. Picking a new ship really boils down to your needs. I was able to barter with an Alien to get his ship and it cost me around 850,000 units. Had a more powerful hyperdrive, better engines, shields and cannons.

Sadly, the Hyperdrive fuel in my previous ship was still stuck on it, couldn't bring that over to the new ship.

Yeah I saw one for 4m that didn't even look that good. So could see it getting crazy expensive.

Any advice for tracking down animals? I've only got one species left to find on this planet, been hunting iterally all day, and I'm getting bothered by the fact I'm looking for ONE animal on an actual planet sized planet without any decent map system or tracking =(

So far, I'm really enjoying it, been playing on and off all day for about 8 hours, it does have some issues (things like certain items not stacking and not being able to repick dropped items) but nothing too major

Still gotta find the Atlas pass though, just found the first Atlas Station

Sean said they'll be watching feedback on the inventory size and may increase it outright in a patch.

I'll rather make upgrades not use an inventory slot but I guess that's harder to implement than just adding more slots.

Maybe it's a bird? I had the same problem and it was birds, they're pretty small and hard to see, also hard to scan.

Yeah, looks like the game checks your progress and scales up prices according to how much you have done? ...maybe it does based on how much you're making?

4million units? Yikes. I am happy I purchased my 850k one. But I still haven't found a way to plug a new inventory slot in my current ship. That will possibly be a problem as I acquire better tech for it.

So I warped and a bunch of ships are fighting and there's a distress signal but when I go to it I don't see anything.

I'm having a hard time figuring something out. What happens to old equipment when new equipment is purchased AKA ships and multi-tools?

By accident, i dont know how. I pinned a research and now it is cobstantly telling me to do it. How do I unpin a research? Would be super grateful!

While it's not particularly a complaint for me, perhaps a solution to the frustrations of the limited inventory, would be to not include the upgrades taking up slots.

With how quickly you can collect upgrades I think this would be too OP, but I do think separate inventory slots for only upgrades woudl work. That way they can still make you weight the +/- of particular upgrades without them taking up inventory space.

Exo-suit upgrades could then give you one additional inventory slot and one upgrade slot.

Hmmm...not sure if I have done this preorder ship bug thing or not....claimed my ship on start-up then fixed it up good as new before flying up to a space station...am I missing something?

Regarding elements and stuff, I only have 13 exo slots and 15 ship slots.....how do I hold all these elements/what should I be keeping in my inventory?

Prioritize things that you know you're going to be needing to recharge/refuel with frequently (i.e. Plutonium, Thamium9...though you can get away with ditching Plutonium in a real pinch since it's quite abundant in most places) and elements that you know you're going to need to use to craft an upgrade or something soon. I like to carry around some slightly rarer elements like copper and iridium in my ship just because you can go long stretches without seeing them, but that's up to you. And generally try to sell anything labeled as a "trade commodity" (typically green items) whenever you can.

If you want to start expanding your exosuit as quickly as possible, start looking around planets for
those beacons with the orange lasers coming out of the top of them, and use a bypass chip (a super cheap and easy craftable) to search for Shelters. These will take you to drop pods that have exosuit inventory upgrades. The first is free, and the price goes up 10,000 units for every one after that. If you find a couple valuable items to sell and focus on hunting for those drop pods (they're all over the place), you can expand your inventory pretty fast.

15 or so hours in now, and I have the hyperdrive bug sadly. Been to dozens of Colonial sites and no luck so far, will just keep trying until I get lucky I guess.

It sucks but these things happen, especially with ambitious games. I'm too far along now to turn back so I'm just gonna find every damned thing in my second solar system until I can leave. On the plus side, so much looking for a HD has led to a ton of upgrades. Got a 10 slot tool (looks like a rifle which is pretty cool), bought a huge ship, have about 3M units still, many t3 mod blueprints and 16 slots on my armour so far.

Having a blast

THANK YOU

So I'm not getting credit for surviving on an extreme planet (it's one of the tracking milestones), even though I'm on an extreme planet. It's a "Blazed" planet, and says Extreme over the conditions bar....yet my milestone isn't moving.

Tried restarting, doesn't seem to help. Is this milestone bugged or maybe just my planet...

I lost my starting system, how can i find it?

Are you still relatively close by? In the galactic map, hit right on the d-pad. It will take you to the nearest discovered star system (hitting it a second time takes you to the next closest, and so on). Chances are, the closest discovered star systems are the ones that you discovered yourself, so follow that back to your starting system. If you want to keep track of it once you find it, hit square to put a waymark on it.

EDIT: You might have to hit up on the d-pad first to "search for discoveries." Can't remember if that's necessary or not for your own systems.

Is the reward you're supposed to get for fully exploring a planet bugged?
I have scanned all the creatures on a planet and it even says it's 100% done on the screen where you upload you're discoveries, except I never got the 320k reward and the journey/milestone screen is saying I've never discovered everything on any of the planets I've visited.

Anyone been to an underwater planet?

I've been to two planets so far that were 75-80% water, one was cool and very peaceful - the other was just straight scary. Everything on the second one attacked me instantly for mega damage, and the waters were packed with huge underwater space Graboids (they looked just like em)

I'n not sure, but I think i read that the "X% complete" bar is actually a button, that you need to press to upload the data itself.

I'll add to this that you don't have to worry about Thamium9 either. Just jump into space and shoot the asteroids. You'll have all the T9 you could ever hope for.
