No Man's Sky |OT| Hello Worlds.

My connection always says, "You have lost connection to online services." When I'm in the space map I can't see nearest people like I could at one point, and for that it says, "discovery status unknown."

Is this a known issue right now? I can't search the thread to see.
 
I actually had a more enjoyable second day just playing a long stretch without it being late. My main disappointment is the single biome planets. I knew that was the case, but in effect it makes exploring for the sake of seeing the planet less exciting since you don't get too much variation after the first mile or so. And there definitely needs to be better on-ground mobility options. Outside of that I'm loving the game.

This is gonna be me for sure. Especially looking forward to trying to be a linguistic anthropologist of sorts, researching as much as possible about alien cultures and languages. Don't know how much the game will allow for this, but the little bit I have seen via impressions leads me to believe I will have enough to go on.

Is it Friday yet???

Damn if this is your bag... You're gonna scrape every planet. The mechanics for language are really basic and repetitive... But you can prob make this work.

Ah, I see. Don't know how they've coded things, but I assume after the server gets the discovery, it sends back an "all good" response and at that point the game displays it as uploaded (green icon I think). So if it didn't get that response you should be able to upload it again, hopefully...

The icons are green and I got the credits. So I guess they somehow got through?

The games keeps connecting and disconnecting.

Got hit with a serious bug today. Had to start a new game and lost seven hours of progress. If you use the pre order ship before you are given the hyper drive and anti matter tutorials, you run the risk of not being able to get those blue prints unless you happen to luck into them at a random outposts. I spent several hours today scouring planets in the system i had become stranded in, looking for the anti matter recipe or an outpost that sells it, but no such luck. Thank god i really love the game so far otherwise Id be way angrier, but just be wary if you are using the pre order ship early on.
 
Oh my god...I JUST bought a new ship in a system, decided to take my old ship since it had near full warp, and now I'm realizing that your ships don't follow you, I guess? I uploaded the system I just left with a unique name, but I can't for the life of me find the system via free exploration.
Did I just waste 1 million units?
 
Got a quick question: Does anyone knows if the Beam Intensifier stack?
I got a Beam Intensifier Tau +2 and a Beam Intensifier Theta +3. Both came with the gun i bought. Can i delete the +2 or does it stack with the +3?
 
This game is just mind-boggling big and I kinda love it. Had to take a quick dinner break. Now time to smoke some of this beautiful Alien OG(fitting lol) and dive right back in.

I still haven't got my damn Atlus pass cause I've been so distracted with everything on just 3 planets. Damn me.

So far it does stack, at least with me. I'm using all the coolant ones and now I can keep blasting for a long time.

No map for that, look at the top, your ship will always show in the compass at the top of the screen when facing a certain window of degrees towards it.

i only name planets i really like otherwise i leave it. i just found a planet at the first atlas thing and its got graveballs every fucking where I collected about 20 in 15 minutes but the thing about it is as soon as you pick one, sentials go ham on your ass... im stay their until im rich.. i named it gravballl lol Kappa



OK then how in the hell do you get the recipe for the atlas pass I still don't have it I heard it's at the first atlas cube thing but I can't find it anywhere ...😐

I streamed for a little over 2.5 hours last night, then I played offline for about another hour and a half until 1:30am, and now I'm on the slowest bus in Los Angeles, and itching to stream again when I get home, but I need to eat first.

My plan tonight is money! I'm back on my starter planet after jumping to the next system then jumping back, and my starter planet and it's two moons are rich in some good resources, so I'm going to spend this next stream getting paid and hunting for exosuit upgrades. Haven't found any so far, but then again I haven't actually been looking for them.

I dont mean the ship I am using. I found a 2nd ship but in order to use it, i needed to find minerals and repairs. By the time i got the stuff...i forgot where the 2nd ship was.

Ironically it's not very well-suited to "adults"; it doesn't have the pick-up-for-20-minutes vibe since you can't save anywhere. Plus it's rather addictive. I found myself saying "I'll just do X thing and I'll stop" quite often last night.
 
So if I want to follow the story line I need to continue on the line given to me when I am in the map view?

I want some bounty hunting quests though and I wish I could find a cool ship already. . I thought the pre-order ship was red.

It's possible this is because most people your age probably haven't spent a lot of time playing the numerous survival games that have come out since Minecraft.

Addictive
Soundtrack
Simplicity
Original

The list could go on and on. It's a "first" for me in gaming, something that happens only ever few years or more.
 
Lol the game is not slow paced, you just need to improve your equipment.

Today i found a moon for the first time, and its caves where packed of "treasure" gold, 8 stacks and going on, omfg

I'm loving it, 29 here, and i have been playing since 2, most modern games bore me to death

I find the sentinals very unnerving when you turn around and they're right there in your face scanning. I keep looking over my shoulder every few seconds when I'm mining and that sound they make gives me gamer anxiety.
