With Sumail, Universe, and Zai, EG has some of the smartest brains among Dota2 players. This trio is similar to the Miracle-/Fly/Crit- smart trio.

I knew Universe and Zai were smart, but I thought Sumail was just "mechanically smart" as a mid/carry player, but he is on a far higher level. He must have gained a lot of maturity since the TI5 win. The boy learns fast.

I've been listening to a lot of audio only at work, puts into perspective how great Dota sound design is.

Also the answer is Mana Void.
 
Coming from HON (from WC3 Dota) I thought the sound design in Dota 2 was pretty disappointing. Nothing in Dota 2 comes close to the satisfaction of Witch Slayer's Silver Bullet, bludgeoning people with Deadwood or Pharaoh's abilities.

If EG win then they've earned it. Regardless of how they may be like outside of the game, they definitely play amazing DOTA.

It's up to other teams to stop them, it's not like you can't see them coming by now.
 
If it was like TI3 where Alliance was just steamrolling through everyone then I'd be against EG too, but the competition is so incredibly stacked and EG is still pulling ahead.

And after that game 1 against EHOME, I really can't root against them. If they win then it's because they played better, pure and simple.
 
I just don't think people realize what they would accomplish if they won back to back with 4 of the same players. That would be an amazing feat in the ecosystem that is players/teams can leave/drop whoever and whenever they want pretty much. Sure they had their own shuffles, but came out mostly intact from last year, and everyone wrote them off.

Fuck the haters.

The only underdogs I'm rooting for are DC to aim for top 4.

I know TNC is going to be the crowd favorite though so not sure how that'll play into DCs mind.

I'd be kinda bummed if both DC and Liquid get eliminated today.

It's nothing like the Yankees winning. Don't Chinese players get paid significantly more? PPD, Universe and Fear aren't dudes who got poached because they're God-tier players, they found a balance that works and became rich second.
 
Back to back would be good for teams. Rather than continually trying to rebuild, shuffle, etc. Develop. Hence why Team Secret is bombing now.

EG vs Wings will be interesting.

Streaming Chinese get way more. But salary is EG by a long shot

Lol you wondering how a team that was down to ppd just happened to get 5 top NA players for Manila then magically got Universe and zai and paying off au2k

Western shuffles are usually understandable, what I don't like is how big Chinese teams poach any new young talent and shuffle them around every 6 months. No one even expects Wings to stick together after this TI because they'll be going to iG or VG or LGD

As of last year, they were paid approx. $4,000 a month salary.

So alone that's $48,000 per year, not counting streams.

But EG takes 10% of winnings so if you go off their total winnings of $10,890,160 EG has gotten $1,089,016 from them since the team's founding.

So it's not necessarily 6 figure salary out the gate, but it's not scraping by by any means.

Add in the fact that Valve helps teams pay taxes on TI winnings and they're most likely all millionaires.

Everyone wrote them off because their pre-TI performances were awful. I was sure that EG and Secret would've rebounded hard at TI6, I was right about EG and wrong about Secret (though EG had the stronger line-up on paper).
 
EG winning back to back would be cool because it's nice to have dynasties in sports as much as having underdogs.

But it literally does nothing for other teams.

Teams are going to keep shuffling to try to find that same chemistry.

Secret/Navi/Escape all ended up in last place. Complexity didn't even make the main stage.

OG and Alliance got blown out in the second round.

Why would these teams stay together as is?

If DC and Liquid lose today they're both shuffling.

  1. DC
  2. MVP because come on, they have a huge amount of motivation and dedication
  3. EG because it is not just ppd
  4. Liquid
  5. TNC for Jimmy
  6. EHOME for icecube
  7. Fnatic
  8. Wings (because I don't know them really)

He compares them to one of the richest teams in all of sports, who's players are paid extreme amounts of money. There is a direct correlation. If you two are saying 'EG is one of the richest teams like the Yankees' then that correlates to rich players directly paid by the organization. Show me where the numbers are for EG players to make anywhere near proportional amounts for salaries as the fucking Yankees.

Example - I'll eat my fucking shoe if PPD's contract to EG made the proportional equivalent to Derek Jeter's contract to the Yankees.
