I warped 12 times and reached 4 Atlas stations and still no Atlas Pass. What am I doing wrong?
Have you met
Nada and Polo
? Jump a bit toward the center and look for a
Space Anomaly, a big round metal ship, in each system on that path. Polo will give it to you.
Jesus Christ, firestorms are horrifying. My protection went down in seconds.
The first extreme heat planet I encountered Friday was the most dangerous I'd seen since my radioactive starter planet on PS4. I counted 8 seconds from full to empty hazard protection during storms.

It had a thriving trading post and I couldn't figure out why, until I braved the heat a bit and found it was covered in Radnox. Still, I didn't have the thermal protection tech to make spending any time there worthwhile.

Yeah, they do. But I think they have to be next to each other in the upgrade grid. At least when I put them next to each other their outline turned blue.
They will stack either way, as in the effect of each will apply, but placing them next to one another links them for a bonus. You can see this represented on the ring for whatever category on the inventory screen as a slight "extension," like a slightly faded color.

Anyone else have big issues finding all species on planets? I am always left with 1 or 2 left and cant find them for the life of me. End up spending WAY too much time on said planet and give up. Ends up being waste of time lol

Fastest way to the center
get the warp drive upgrades, go into free mode and look for stars with a black bracket and warp to them. Black hole your way to the center

Yeah I spent way too many hours on my first planet searching for the last one. At some point, I was next to my ship, ready to give up and leave the planet for good, when my girlfriend asked my if she could pick the controller just to get a feel of the game for a few minutes. She moves straight forward for ten seconds and bam, she stumbles upon the last species, just in front of her.
I must have made quite a face.

How do you find these ships with 35+ slots that have crashed?

Current have a 22 slot shio but everything I find is under 18 slots, even if it's a huge trading ship that can be bought with 30+ slots.

Had 8 hard crashes on PS4 today. It is unplayable at times, press options twice in a row and it will lock up for good.

Holy shit, so I just learned how to dash boost. I thought there was a specific upgrade that allowed for that kind of movement.

It completely changes the game when you're not in your ship.

Yeah, the dash boost is fucking amazing.
Yep it's a basic core part of the experience of NMS in my opinion, especially once you really get the hang of making the most of it from a single jetpack charge.

Anyone who isn't using it is really missing out on a huge fun factor.

I have found some that are small, like fly size, luckily, usually in swarms... if yu look through your scope, you will see them as little red dots.

Also check under water and the sky.

Oh that makes sense.

In my experience, crashed ships are always +1 or -1 of your current capacity. If you want a bigger jump you have to buy them with units.

There's something I don't understand.

I discovered a bunch of outposts yesterday, but didn't actually travel to them yet. I had their location marked.

I closed the game, and this morning all the waypoints are gone. Is this by design ? You have to travel there and save the location otherwise you lose them ?

Sigh... It's really hard to understand how this game works sometimes.
Yes, everything that is on the map as discoveries ( done or not ) disappears when you quit the game.
So don't use towers to find new stuff if you plan to quit .

Considering how big the planets are , there isn't another valid way to play the game IMO
Also important when evading multiple sentinel fire

All right fuck that shit. After several more crashes, I reload only to lose hours of gameplay. My reload current save has been rolled back, so many saves ago I lost a warp, and 5 million.

Holding back when I really want to say, but Sean Murray I'm very disappointed in the product you released. You really have egg on your face and your name is covered in mud in my book.

got the same problem. my theory would be to find a crashed ship I want to fix. but instead of swapping right away, I'm gonna redeem that stupid pre-order dlc and then choose the fixed ship. that should work without screwing up all my progress... I hope.

quoting myself real quick. it did work! I just landed next to the crashed ship. I switched it with mine (which doesn't make my previous ship disappear), redeemed the dlc crap (this made the crashed one disappear) and went back to my old one.

begone obnoxious message in the corner!

Evening all, me again.

Another day another question.

So when you're in the Galaxy map, and you press up to search for anomalies. Then it tells me to press right for the nearest one.
But when i do it just seems to be a normal star system. What am i missing. ?

I've unlocked a shit ton of observatories and other buildings that unlock signals.

As always thanks for your time and sorry if my question is poorly articulated.
Final undiscovered planet on my 3rd system.
Skyscrapers made of Emeril
Awwww yeeeeeah

Isn't Emeril used to build anything. Because i'v got 2 or 3 stacks that's taking up space, because i was afraid to sell them.
Yeah, the dash boost is fucking amazing.
Yeah it is.

I've not noticed it being required to build anything yet in my ~20 hours so far.

Sell it IMO, there has been plenty in each system I've been in so far (10 or so).

.

It is used in atleast one recipe, but don't worry about that. The game's inventory system and abundance of resources makes it more about collecting resources when you need them instead of hoarding them all. Always sell stuff unless you need it for something you're trying to craft.

Two things I can't seem to figure out and maybe it's just not possible are:

1. When doing a scan is there any way to get an idea on distance to something? I have a deep distance scanner and it will show me stuff below me, but I'll sometimes blast down 15-20 holes and still nothing

2. Is there a way to blast the huge spires of minerals with the ship? I've let into them and nothing ever happens. Definitely would be faster than using the mining beam.

Thanks.

Boltcaster is amazing man. It has a slot that has homing shots and shoots fast as hell. You should use it. The plasma grenade i seldom use.
Also multitool is 24 slots max.

Okay thanks, now I got the maxed out multi-tool and exosuit, now I just gotta get a 48 slot ship.

Time to start saving up.

Interesting. Mine was also full of Radnox. Guessing there's a connection. Made the Thermal Shield thing so I braved it a bit and got some great photos. Also a ton of wildlife which I can't understand for the life of me.

What is Radnox useful for anyway? (besides selling)

How do you retrace your steps on PC? GF wants to go back to a previous system but on the galactic map I can only find instructions for the PS4 version to use "scan for recent systems"

does anyone know the keybind on PC?

Yeah, they do. But I think they have to be next to each other in the upgrade grid. At least when I put them next to each other their outline turned blue.

Are you talking about the upgrades needing to be next to each other (and the mining beam) in the inventory screen?

Separate note, I solved my grenades issue. Must have had a bug because it reloaded fine after I kept hitting LB until it finally reloaded.

Galactic map is sorely missing two features:

1. Track previously visited systems
2. Ability to delete waypoints

Yeah the waypoint thing is weird. Did I set that at some point, lol? Can't even remember but it's there and not sure how to delete it.

Pretty sure I chose the Atlas path at the start but for some reason don't have my stone anymore and I never sold it. Honestly no idea. Think my HUD has stopped giving me places to go and things to do too...

Space traveling and combat needs a serious overhaul.

More stuff to do in space.
Better controls, more maneuvers, more weapons, countermeasures
Ships with different stats, not just slot, but different speed, handling, etc
Better ship customization

Honestly, I think the game should center around your ship. Everything you do should mostly count towards building a better, more personal ship. The things you do in the planets should feed events, missions and things to do in space.

Maybe it's the Freelancer fan in me talking and most people don't want that, but it's how I feel.

Welp, cant even load my game anymore on PS4. Every time it gets to the point after the title screen where its supposed to put you in control it crashes.

Anybody experience this? Am I fucked?

Phew, finally got through.
