So in terms of upgrade power, does it go Sigma, Tau, Theta?

Also, I just bought a new ship, but the beam weapons would damage my own shield. I removed the shield upgrade that came pre-installed and now it works fine. Was that the right move or should I have opted for the extra shields over the beam weapons?
 
Hopefully one of the near-future updates will let us name our ship.

Also, I would like it if we could name and customize our character. Things like what kind of space suit we have, the details on it, the color of it, etc.

We should be able to buy new items and customize it as we see fit. Maybe that's the Elder Scrolls fan in me; but I think it would be a cool addition!
 
Asking this for the third time today, as I haven't received an answer and this is worrying me.

I finally reached an extremely hot planet that had occasional firestorms, and I spent one Sol on it. However, the milestone didn't pop. On the milestone stat screen it just shows that I've survived for one Sol, and underneath that it says "Next milestone in 0.0 Sols". I hung around for a while longer to try and make something happen, but nothing did. Even when I moved on to another system and a couple of new planets, it didn't pop.

Is this a common issue and if so, is that milestone screwed for me?

So I unlocked something that said "a gateway appears to a distant place in the cosmos" and Im like OMG its a portal. It had a monolith icon. It was under water. Nothing there.....

Create 10 override chips (or whatever they are called) and use all of them to find transmissions. Problem solved.
 
I've ran into a Paradise planet. It was literally called that when I landed.

Weather Condition was light drizzle, abundant flora, and zero fauna. Lots of Gold, Aluminum, and Nickel deposits.

Green grasses, trees, and blue oceans. An Earth like with no creatures living in it.

It is also the single planet in that system. I have named the Planet "Valhalla Prime" as the Norse representation of heaven. The system is also called Valhalla. So if you find it mine to your hearts content and enjoy.

Will warp back and take pictures the next time I load up the game.
 
So i have one species left to discover on this planet and they are birds in the sky.

They move too fast for me to scan though... Wth?
 
Found a planet covered with two types of vortex cubes. Picking up the glowing red cubes alerts sentinels but there are non-glowing cubes as well that you can pick up with no alerts. Gonna be here awhile.

I like my ship! Gotta upgrade it's weapons and start raiding cargo ships, go all fuckin' space pirate. Wish it had more slots but I like the sleek fighter look.

So, are any of you guys constantly running in to systems and planets that have already been discovered by someone else? I actually thought it would be more rare, but I think 30% of the planets I see have already been discovered.

Edit: Holy shit, can you find other people's graves in this game?! I just entered a completely new system and saw a grave icon, went for it and got a bunch of materials.

Edit part 2: WHAT!? Another grave... is this a bug or am I seeing things here?

I've not come accross any yet, although i've only gone through 3 systems so far
 
I've narrowed down the "already known" blueprint bug to the multitool stations. Getting blueprints elsewhere seems fine.

For example, I got warp reactor theta twice from a multitool station, and wasn't awarded it both times because of the "already known" bug. Third time I got it from an alien at a trade post and it worked fine.
 
Just got the game today and I think I've hit a bug hat's stopping me from progressing any further. I'm needing the ingredients to build a warp cell. I'm being directed to an outpost but whenever I travel to the planet it is on the outpost is apparently underwater, if I try and swim to it then there is nothing there. I keep leaving and returning to the planet hoping that when I come back it has respawned to somewhere on land but it's always somewhere underwater and the same thing happens. I've seen a few other people online saying they have had the same problem. Has anyone found a way to fix this or a way to work around it?

Just by doing one of those number riddles on a computer in an outpost.

I went back to the the planet to check the other side of the planet but nothing. It sounded like it would be a portal but I will never know.

I am really far in the game

ooooo, so even the ones from the damaged hardware are ok? i'll just avoid the mutitool ones for now then.

Have you tried flying round to the other side of the planet?

Your play through sounds weird. I have yet to discover anything discovered by another player.

I haven't come across a single thing discovered by someone else.


Also I have warped about 12 times. At this point I don't even mess with whack planets. I'm looking for that lushness. I still haven't found anything with the super rare items to get millions of units.

This is for sure weird.. I'm now seeing a THIRD grave in a system I've never been to before.. every planet here has been discovered by a player called PhilmoreBlunts. It even has a planet called Obama. LOL
 
I'm over a dozen systems in and not seen a discovered system yet. I haven't followed the Atlas or guided path though, just choosing my own way.
 
Remember guys if you are on PS4 there is a community set up called Galactic Allied Federation [NeoGAF]. This can be found by searching by name or by looking at my (SG-17) communities on my profile.

Same, but I'm guessing you need a warp drive that will let you warp to the Green/Blue/Purple Stars. I don't have the recipe or the ship that can do that. It says I need Warp Drive Theta and I have Sigma.

It is used in atleast one recipe, but don't worry about that. The game's inventory system and abundance of resources makes it more about collecting resources when you need them instead of hoarding them all. Always sell stuff unless you need it for something you're trying to craft.

Yeah, once I discovered this and only kept what I needed for my suit/ship. I stopped stressing about the inventory.

However, since I'm trying to harvest 10 Atlas Stones I seriously need to find a new ship. My ship only has 17 Slots. :(

That's amazing. I'm actually naming all my planets and systems around Super Smash Brother Melee events and players. So if you see a system or planet that starts with SSBM, that's me haha.

I had a similar experience. Person took exact same path that I was on. Eventually I warped far away and now Im back in undiscovered areas.

I've seen a grave in a new system that was definitely not mine. Thought it was a bug and never bothered to check it out lol. Wish I had now aha.

Hmm interesting. I've done a whole bunch of the number riddles but all I've gotten were the crashed ships from transmission towers and ruins from an observatory.

I'm still super far away from the center though, so maybe that has something to do with it.


Farmed some money now and I will buy a ~40 slot ship tomorrow and then farm some crashed ships.
 
Got this game on friday really enjoying it (couple of crashes not withstanding) until sunday night rolls around and it decides to hardlock my ps4. Restarted it and I'm met with an error code and a dead harddrive.
First time in twenty five years of gaming I've ever had something this bad happen. Refund requested from Sony. Doubt I'll get it but worth a shot. Totally ruined my interest to play it. Sucks.
 
Found a planet with literally every element I need short of some exotics, but I'm just not ready to start trade upgrading my ship.
Suit is fully upgraded so credits should start piling up now. Might finally upgrade my MT next.
