Final Fantasy XV - 50 min video

It's everything really, can you imagine walking down the street and seeing this from across the street?

What conceivable acting direction was the mocap actress given?

Act like a Kingdom Hearts character.

I'm still working on my preview for work, but I just wanted to hop in and say I played this same build for over 4 hours.

I'd say my mood on it is below those incredibly ecstatic in this thread but also above the doomsayers; I'm somewhat in the middle. I was deeply skeptical of FF15 however and I did leave this preview hands-on with far more interest and excitement in the game. It was far from ready though, and I can see why the delay was absolutely necessary. It does indeed run better than the last time we saw it, but in my time with it I also experienced multiple nasty crashes to dashboard (PS4) and a boss broke, making progression impossible twice, forcing a reset to last save.

But I love the combat, the banter between the guys, etc. There's a lot to be excited about. I'll have a full preview really shortly, but yeah.
Thanks for this post.

Glad to have some impressions from someone who has actually played the game instead of 99% of the posters in this thread.

Weird and a bit worrying that they're mixing footage from the PC version in.

At the Behemoth encounter now and it's super atmospheric.

Thanks for sharing your impressions.

It's ashame with the crashes and glitches you dealt with, but I suppose the delay was for the best.

As for banter, I agree with you. The bros are very funny together. :)

Showing 50 minutes of your game to everyone before launch really shows the team's confidence in their game.

In Tabata we trust!

I love how they actually mix parts recorded from both ps4 and xbone (button promts constantly changing during the video).

Looks great to me. Rough during certain points but it seems to run well enough and the gameplay looks fine. The acting is pretty terrible I must admit. Sounds very robotic and lack of any life. Still hyped for it, and I hope the delay improves on some rough parts.

There seems to be a bunch of new combat themes. Is it confirmed that Shimomura composed the soundtrack by herself?

it continues to feel like some people have made up their minds already.

I'm not even the biggest FF fan and I hated the demo (Platinum Demo was neat tho)....but holy shit I feel like I am watching completely different videos in every XV thread.

Bad dub? Man I have heard 10 times worse dubs.
PS2 game graphics? wut.

I mean opinions and all that sure...but wow, its weird to legit not see many of the issues people are having. It looks fine to me. Not perfect for sure...but after its dev cycle it never was going to be.

Seems pretty normal to me for a Japanese game. I only know what I see in games and anime, but I see this type of motion a lot, so it's gotta be a common trope over there.

Well, doesn't look too great but I'm always up for an open world game or a game with flashy animations.

So is this game going to be dual audio? Because...

the line readings are dead, characters like cidney have cartoonish accents, there's no positional audio, the text doesn't sound like how english speaking people speak, and the lip synching is off. but yes i suspect if you are a fan of anime stuff these problems are par for the course.

...yeah.

Looks like one final polish pass away from being pretty great to me, which it's luckily going to get. I still have doubts over certain aspects but this footage has made me feel a lot less worried.

The world itself looks beautiful enough for me to forgive quite a few flaws.

"like johnny depp in pirates of the caribbean, except instead of being drunk you're an obnoxious 13 year old anime girl"

She looks drunk lol. I just don't understand this sort of animation in some Japanese media.

Damn, I think it looks really fun. Technically it's quite rough, but hopefully the patch can remedy that somewhat. Definitely doesn't look nearly as shit as a seemingly large number of people on this forum are hoping it will be.

We'll see though.

Yeah, two months of work (thousands of man hours with their team) on top of this and it should be fine.

This is that style of writing where each character embodies one single stereotype and just hammers it home with every line.

"GRRR, I am the gruff one"

"He he he, let's do something sneaky"

"GRRR"

The dialogue and voices seem corny as hell. That's fine with me, i'll prob just have a fun time laughing at it.

The music sounds great, and the combat was looking good too.

Overall, I think the game doesn't look amazing, but it doesn't look horrible either. I rarely read the new info on the game, but I took the dive this time, and it got me hype.
