Final Fantasy XV - 50 min video

Forced Push Car Sequences are the new Forced Push to Slowly Walk Sequences of this generation, bless you Tabata

I really liked it. I liked the banter between the guys. It sounds weird, but pushing a dead car on a road is actually a pretty good bonding moment. I know because I've been there with my friends, pushing a car and making jokes/playfully complaining. So watching that scene really brought me back. :)

Okay. I don't know what to tell you as I don't know what standard you're basing this off of, but other than FF12 Heavensward probably has the best VA of any localized game I've heard.
The Witcher 3 is technically localized...original dub is in Polish.

Gahhhh, just got finished watching the full video and I WANT THE GAME NOW TABATA.

- The combat portions looked badass & a bit more refined from what they've displayed thus far, as someone who developed some proficency against the Titan in Platinum Demo, this excites me
- I loved seeing some of the monster variety in the latter parts of the video, nice to know the usual Final Fantasy variety still exists in FFXV
- Speaking of monsters, all of those hunts definitely reminded me of FFXII
- Menu music was awesome, super chill and the different battle themes were great
- The UI for the skill system is nice & sleek if a but simplified, it looks similar to the upgrade system from FFXIII
- Those alternate costumes lol
- Good to see there will definitely be boss battles in the game, that was actually a worry of mine
- Voice acting is very mehhhhh, but I got used to it as the video went on. Undecided if I'll play the game in English or Japanese

Overall, the gameplay did a good job of getting me hyped up for the game's release. Really hope Tabata & the team can do their best to iron out the performance & technical issues so the game isn't a broken glitchy mess on release day.

Yea I would've been perfectly okay if this was the final version. Sort of glad now it's gonna be better for release.

Apparently, as good as that hour-long video was, the game was very unstable and was crashing in several occasions. So I guess the extra polish time will be used to iron out those bad bugs.

Isn't there supposed to be a second main plot point aside from the
Phantom Swords
and Niflheim invasion thing? As in how the nights are growing longer or something like that? I'm much more interested in that, but it's kind of weird/worrying not hearing anything about it at all. I'm happy to not be spoiled but, at this point, it's almost starting to feel like the story will only be about the Niflheim invasion.

Still blows my mind that it's 2016 and they stuck with the Zyzz/f**kboy/early 2000 Korean boy band hairstyles all this time. It's going to distract me the whole time. It' just looks SO freaking bad. It can't be understated. That plus the VA is going to detract a lot from my experience with this game but I need a new mainline FF in my life.

Final Fantasy voicework is so fuckin' weird. There are JRPG's with vastly lower budgets that get far better english voice acting done in them. Hell, the Dragon Quest games have better voice acting in them. I guess I'll just have to get used to it, but they really need to work on improving this aspect of their FF games.

Glad bearded Noctis looks good.

I was freaking out earlier when I heard he was a thing and was afraid it would look terrible.

What does the year have to do with the haircuts? Stuff like that seems to be very popular in Japan.

And remember, while this game is being released worldwide, Tabata and Square-Enix have mentioned several times they are trying very hard to revive the Japanese AAA game scene, to prove that "they still got it", and that high-budget, high-quality games can still be done by Japan.

So the style is also aimed at the Japanese public.

Just wear the cap, voilà !

I wonder how many chapters are in the game.

I am for some reason thinking there will be 9-12.
I'm betting no more than 10, more realistically 7-8, no less than 6. A lot of the playtime will be spent doing sidequests and the like, with a big story set piece of 2 every chapter.

Some of the alternate costumes look pretty cool:

Are these complete sets or can you freely customize certain parts?

I can't get over how ridiculous these doofs look lmao. Thank god FF7R is coming soon-ish.

Gladio:Stop bitching and start killing

Me and my lady burst in laughter

That entire car pushing conversation had us chuckling too love these guys

Also being able to craft dual fire I think it was called is cool. Wonder how many magical crafting effects there are

6 Chapters wth? XIII had XIII. They only traveled to like three different areas in that 50 minute video got to chapter 3 by the end and already had like 8 hours or so probably skipping a bunch of the sidequests as well.

...the VA seems completely fine (if not, good) to me? I'm not sure what people are expecting.
I would expect a triple AAA game in 2016 to not make it completely obvious that these lines were recorded at completely separate times by actors who're either not very talented or were paid way too little to put in a serious effort.

Skipped around the video. Saw some combat, some story sequences, and I'm liking what I see. The VA isn't great but isn't grating either so I'll be sticking with English VA (honestly can't stand JP VA most of the time, especially in JRPGs.) Combat still seems to have some jank, but there are enough weapon types where I'm confirming I can find a play style that suits me and will help me ignore the faults. I've had the deluxe edition preordered since Uncovered so now all we do is wait.

I hope the technical stuff is sorted through the delay, and I'm not yet sold on the voice acting, but the world and combat looks so damn cool. This will definitely be the game I pick up with my PS4 Neo this holiday, assuming it supports it.

Game could've definitely been released in this state if everything performed like this. Looks solid and fun, sucks for the hardcore FF fans who don't like this though.

Agreed. How could anyone forget the super serious, realistic and not ridiculous costumes the FFVII characters wear.

Holy fuck this is so true.

All these people commenting "This isn't FF anymore" need to get a grip and just take a few glances back at the franchise.

Other than the combat which is divisive, the voice acting, and some graphical issues held back by consoles, this is what FF has led up to.

The game looks grand.

That's a nice line.

XIII also wasn't a big open world. But I get your point.

I forgot to mention they only explored like the front yard of Lucis which was all the desert area. Probably like in the 20% ish area but they didn't explore all of it even.

There is also Tenebrae, Solhiem, Niflehiem, Altissia and who knows where else.

There also maybe off map dream sequences or flashbacks.

Looks fun and about what I'm expecting and not the complete disaster that the leaks made it out to be. Definitely needs some polishing and the IQ could certainly be improved but it looks pretty solid imo. I'm very curious if there indeed will be a NEO version and how it'll compare but I'm fine playing the version that will be released in November.

I feel like Cidneys VA isn't even really trying to do a convincing country accent. It's like none of the people at HH are trying. It's like they're watching The Dukes of Hazard and just dialing that accent up to 11

The 2nd leaker also talked about a place which can be only reached by Airship and had some secret bosses.

Tabata has actually said something along the lines of this already himself.

Some areas can not be accessed with out the Carship, which imagine you get towards the end of the game and it opens up a bunch of post game content.

Remember Type-0 even had that hidden abadoned submarine with iron giants inside of it.
