I'm quite not liking it. Seems too Xenoblade X to me, which is bad.
Didn't watch it, but consensus seems to be pretty good overall, but needs more time for technical polish?
Was thinking the same. xD
I'd like to use the default outfits on my first playthrough.
I highlighted the three regions on the world map. There's still plenty of places to see.

EDIT: fixed the Leide western border.
EDIT2: Added the area of Episode Duscae.
Something I feel the need to correct. The kingdom/region is not called Insomnia. Insomnia is specifically the capital city, which is surrounded by walls. So it would be the rectangular part in the middle. The kingdom itself is Lucis.

You can only level up by sleeping at camps hence the dark souls comparisonThis is a great read, everyone should check it out. Interesting structure to the game created from the Chapter system. Confused about leveling akin to Dark Souls though. What does it mean by that? For certain you aren't leveling individual stats, right?
Fuck it, I caved and watched it. Really, really liked it. There were so many mechanics we haven't known yet. It's all coming together and for the first time it seemed like an actual game. All the nitpicking about small technical stuff is so irrelevant, honestly. You won't notice while playing and having fun. Loved how you can customize the outfits and even have non-black clothing. Never expected them to budge on that aspect - guess the feedback was unequivocal. The VA is very uneven (Prompto will never not be annoying and grating), the rest I got used to and actually liked in the end - Cor sounded perfect. Music was great and there are still so many songs we haven't heard yet. I still find the "enemy near" alarm jingle annoying and I would've liked a less bombastic battle theme intro for every small mob you encounter. Something a bit more subdued would've been nice. But that's minor stuff you'll get over as long as you enjoy the rest of the game
Super positive on the game now. Graphics and performance will improve over the next months, anyway, and even post-release. The most important thing is that the game seems like a big, fun adventure. Good thing they took another 2 months. I think, I wouldn't even mind another few months until Spring '17 even, as long as they can deliver a solid game. You know, it doesn't even have to be the Game of the Forever, just a great game. FFXVI will benefit so much from the experience SE gained and the catching-up they done for FFXV. Can't wait for the future, we're blessed. Tabata era. Ifrit represent. Balee dat.
Agreed. How could anyone forget the super serious, realistic and not ridiculous costumes the FFVII characters wear.

I guess what they mean is that you store up the ap by camping and then choose a specific ability to learn.
Noticed the game lacked shadows.
Yes, and FFVII is probably my favorite game ever. Looking back all the FF characters looking weird by today's standard, especially when they are realized in 3D and more realistic as possible.
I feel like the outfit changes actually fit a first playthrough very well. I always thought it would feel weird to be on the run from the empire but still wear your standard Lucis royalty clothes. Nice to know we'll have options. I'll go with what feels natural for each part of the game. Not touching that coat until I leave Duscae and the place I'm at doesn't look hot as fuck.
I think they look fantastic:

English VA is a joke. Far away from Dangan Ronpa, VRL or Persona's VA.
I think this time i'm going to choose japanese.
This game's VO isn't great but Danganronpa is kind of a lateral shift.

WAAAY too desaturated and grimdark. Black, black, desaturated grays, nearly black colors, black...
The original versions had dark colors, but they were at least COLORS, with some vibrancy and visual pop to them.
Give me color any day of the week.
