Rez Infinite Gets a Physical Release, Vinyl Soundtrack, Art Book, T-Shirt & More

Basically confirms that the digital game will be $30 anyway to uh, capitalize on the PSVR launch.

For reference, we're not involved with this release at all so any comments from us are baseless in relation to this. I'd wait for an official announcement regarding the digital price before assuming anything. :)

Okay, but that still doesn't make sense.

More expensive shipping is primarily just speed, the mailman isn't carrying the package individually on a pillow with a mint because it's Priority over Media.

And that doesn't excuse the horrible, slow, and uninsured comment.

There are more hands and sorting centers for Media Mail packages to pass through. iam8bit says this in the email that was making rounds yesterday: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CqAbR3VVMAAOtPX.jpg

Priority Mail and First Class mail takes a more direct route. When you're shipping items that weigh enough to go First Class, that should always be an option. The difference between Media Mail and First Class on a game is so, so, negligible and it is indisputably slower than First Class. Go to the post office right now and try to ship a package - you'll get a much slower estimate on media mail.

Also, again, in the email above, iam8bit says they do not insure their media mail packages.

I do want to note that they did replace that customers' item in the end. They're working to fix the issue and that email had a positive resolution.

They're creating better boxes to ship in, but a box won't stop a disc from coming loose. We've shipped tens of thousands of PS4 games. Loose discs suck and the problem will be exacerbated by a mail service that takes a less direct route. Plain and simple. I'm not saying this to rain on iam8bit, I buy vinyls from them all the time and have them shipped media mail. I would just never get a PS4 game shipped media mail.

really 40$ is too much for some of you? jesus christ... i thought it was going to be a normal priced game at 60$ and i was fine with that... (Id STILL pay 60$ for this game) But 40$ for a physical copy is fucking awesome.

I wonder what the digital version will cost. I am guessing $29.99.

Really torn on this one. I really want this game day 1 of PSVR but would also love to have a physical copy, but I don't see this arriving anytime near the release of the game.

Also would really love some of the other goodies but man that stuff really is overpriced...

Damn, I'm in for the physical edition. Maybe for the vinyl too...

for 75 bucks they should include a code for the digital version :(

This makes me think, is there any download code including a digital ver. of the soundtrack inside the vinyl package ? I can't see this on the store page. I mean that's something pretty common nowadays.

Classically, iam8bit has given people digital downloads for vinyls. I got a download link for Killer Cuts at the time of purchase. Not sure if I got one for Hyper Light Drifter.

Do we know if trance vibration support is in? At least in a similar way to REZ HD?

A friend of a friend wants to know.
For science.

Any audiophile willing to share some knowledge?

What's so special about a Vinyl? Do people just want them for the sake of collecting? Or do they offer some sort significant increase in sound quality when compared to Audio CDs,Blu-Ray Discs,or any Digital Sound Format?

I ask because for a few years now I keep seeing game companies include a Vinyl Disc in some of their limited physical releases with increasing frequency.

I checked, you're right, and I just read this for Hyper Light Drifter : "Includes full digital soundtrack (code will be emailed to you shortly after purchase)".
I hope this will be the same for REZ.

Oh and, if Enhance Games are reading this, I think a release of the Synestesia Suit would be nice (I know this have been asked several times. Well that's just one's more :D).
I'm sure a lot of people testing things with VR or others tech (including me :) ) would be interested by buying this suit (for the eventual enthusiasts, it seems 2 versions of the suit are developed according to this article. So maybe a professional version is already planned for a global release ?).

For collecting vinyl are bigger than A4 so they have some area for big artworks. Same for the discs.

What would lead you to believe that the game would cost $60?

Definitely gonna pre-order the game. Wish the vinyl was a little cheaper.

I don't see how my question can be considered bait (Unless this sort of baiting is common around Vinyl enthusiasts?) but it was a genuine question coming from me so thanks for answering the question anyways.

I must be missing something, but is there no option to make an account on their website? I wanna see the shipping costs, but I literally can't find how to make an account.

/edit: nvm I saw the post above me. Still weird that it's so hidden.

Why would that mean not being able to make an account? What if I want to buy something else from their store?

I was responding to your question about shipping costs. Pre-orders are not open until tomorrow. If you are viewing the page glitch that adds the game to your cart it was blocked because pre-orders are not open yet.

It seems they took the account creation page offline for some reason. Maybe maintenance?

I'd love UK links for the game, the limited LP and the player tshirt.

I need this stuff so much... I own two PS2 copies (one with the trance vibrator) and one DC copy.

I'm not an audiophile, just a vinyl fan. Vinyl is just.. fun. There's something about the ritual of playing vinyl that forces you to connect to the music more, I think. As for audio quality, sure, there's the analog "warmth" that is commonly touted. Whether that's better or not is up to the viewer (listener?). Getting back into vinyl got me back into music.

That said, there are a lot of people into vinyl recently that buy them just to collect or to put on their walls.

iam8bit specifically services this type of customer, I believe.

The Last of Us Remastered was $50

FFX HD included two games and retailed at $40.

Last of Us was also still pretty new, so it makes sense. Rez is so niche that they know people will pay more, and they are correct. It's not going to suddenly sell millions at a lesser price unfortunately.

It's kind of shitty how people are trying to put in orders ahead of the pre-order time. Why cheat people out of orders when/if they don't know how or don't want to cheat the system?

Hey, so i ordered from this site back a year ago, and it's telling me I don't have an account, but I also can't find a way to make an account. How can I? I wanted to get ahead so I can order tomorrow.

Don't even get me started on fucking ticket bots man...boils the blood under my skin. >:(

Is the physical copy exclusive to these people? Anyone know what the delivery cost is to UK & EU on that site? I don't give a shit about the extra fluff, just the game.
