Overwatch Sombra ARG - No one is ready for Sombra [Up2: New Model Leaks]

If Sombra is supposed to be a spy (with hacking traits), I think it would be fitting for her to simply appear in the game one day out of nowhere. Just simply show up on the character list (presumably after a patch), with no explanation from Blizzard. Blizzard then tries to put up a Character Introduction video on Youtube but it turns out to be 2 minutes of static. They tweet about her debut but it shows up written in a weird cipher. Basically everything about the debut plays into the lore of the character.

I think something like that would be more interesting and exciting than a long drawn out reveal.

See I'd much rather enjoy that then what Blizzard is doing now. That sounds so much more interesting.

At this point I'd be happier if players never did what we were supposed to do to up the %age. It's not like pushing it would make Sombra come out more quickly.

If anyone has heard of the theory that the Spanish/Mexican Girl from the Soldier 76 trailer might be Sombra. And when she rips off the poster in the trailer the number 23 is shown behind it, hinting that she would be the 23rd hero. But next to that 23 looks be be the number 10.

So my guess the next hero will be Sombra and will be releasing October 23rd.

Seems plausible. It would definitely go with the pattern that Blizzard seems to be setting up for the maps and hero releases, where they are released 2-3 months apart.

There are 10 types of people in this world... Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Don't Sombra and Reaper have a history?

How would the girl be Sombra if Soldier: 76 is already a vigilante. Sombra has been operational since before Overwatch fell, yes?

Doesn't look like anything was solved

Blizzard are clearly stalling at this point, and not respecting anyone's time or effort
I don't think they're stalling. The community is just extremely impatient. Everyone is hyping each other up to ridiculous points.

The issue here is that they didn't throw us a bone. If they had gave up a small unclear image of her, or a sound file, anything. Some kind of reward for breaking the code, then it would have been fine. But to put one puzzle at the end of the previous puzzle without anything to show for it is not good game design.

I can't say this for everyone, but aren't you guys being a tad bit obsessed with this ARG? Sombra will eventually be revealed, so why are some of you losing sleep over something that has no impact in the greater scheme of things?

When you generalize like that it's hard to tell who you're talking to.

Yes, some people are. Also, some people aren't.

What's your point?

I hope blizzard abuses their hold over their fans and it turns out to be a rerelease of the Soldier 76 short with all shadows removed.

I don't want Blizzard to take the long road with Sombra. Get her reveal and release out of the way so I can get hyped on DoomFist.

I'd like to play as DoomFist before the end of this year.

lol they should definitely do this, tie this to real ingame statistics

So you don't want Sombra to unlock ever? :D

Isn't DoomFist like The Villain of whole IP? I doubt we get to be Darth Vader of OW.

Depends on which DoomFist you're talking about:

I wonder how far out Sombra really is? I don't think they would release the map and new character at the same time. Seems like they'd want the separate for the uptick in players. Maybe they'd release her around the potential halloween/fall event to get them loot boxes. I'm going to guess Eichenwalde is getting a proper release around season 2.

DoomFist at this year? You will be lucky if this happens next year.

Overwatch Gamepedia said:
Doomfist was not intended to be a major character during development—he began life as a throwaway line in the intro cinematic to Overwatch (the name of "Doomfist" itself was invented by Chris Metzen). After his gauntlet featured in the cinematic, and references were made to him in Numbani, it was decided to make him a "generational character," as in, when multiple characters in the same universe wear the same moniker (Metzen has used The Flash and Green Lantern as examples of this concept). The developers have discussed making Doomfist a playable hero. If a Doomfist becomes playable, he will be aware of the Doomfists that preceeded him.

Considering how much they are milking this ARG I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.

I don't get the deal with trying to figure out a new character. Do you get to see how it looks? Maybe, but I don't think so. How it plays? No. What kind of class it'll be? No. If you will like to play it? No.

In the end everyone's chasing hints for the sake of hints. Unless they they releasing the character when the puzzle is solved.

I really hope they don't release Sombra in the middle of Season 2.

Either get it out of the way before September 6th, or wait until Season 2 is over, please.

Pretty much.

Blizzard have a game to upkeep/make as well as do the ARG. There's people at home just waiting for the next clue with the free time to solve it.
