One more day .
Going to be interesting to see how Sony market this.

That has not been the case for a long time .
Plus tech wise we hitting a wall with what we can do for right now.
Hopefully they don't market it as a console built specifically for VR and 4K like Microsoft is doing with Scorpio. They should just market it as a console built to give a bit more boost to games - nothing more and nothing less. I hope they don't spend a lot of time talking about the Neo and keep the focus on the games coming to all their platforms.

What do you guys think the chances are of Witcher 3 getting a Neo patch? It might be the push I need to do one last playthrough and 100% the whole thing.

i dunno but i would totally upgrade to Neo just to play Witcher 3 DLC (havent started yet), The Last Guardian and FFXV in all their glory.

You can still hope. Why would you believe him? He know nothing

Zhuge plus the guy in this thread that quickly changed his comment because he doesn't want to go through getting verified. Just feels like more and more people are saying November this morning.

It surely has to be on the same date as PSVR. It does make the most business sense with them been complementary products... mind on the other hand if the PSVR first wave is sold out they might want to wait tI'll there's more retail units ready.

Meh, mostly speculation and stuff based off of tweets like that. November is just as realistic as October but allows additional production time as well as it being a good month for a console release.

A little more underwhelming. The Jump from 1.8 to 4.2 is bigger than 4.2 to 6.

Tbh, I expect it to be even more of a smaller jump when you compare who will be developing titles for the systems.

It's essentially Sony first party taking advantage of Neo vs. Microsoft first party taking advantage of Scorpio.

The gap will appear much smaller then it should because of that.

Zhuge is banned. And the other dude should not back off is he is telling the truth.

They are making themselfes more important this way. Just wait and see. The say a thing that no matter the outcome they could be right

If there is no money involved, why would they do that? It means lots of extra work with unknown outcome financially.
I think 1st party has to deliver, then perhaps 3rd party may also release patches if it is worth for them.

Zhuge might be banned but that's for reasons unrelated.

His ban doesn't negate that he often provides very valuable and correct information on his twitter.

Not saying it's 100% guaranteed but I'd definitely hold it in a higher regard then unverified posters or some random sites rumor mill.

Zhuge's recent tweets about the neo are the definition of "see I implied that, I knew all along!" and "I never outright said it would happen, people just assumed" type shit.

Isn't Neo/Slim or SFW 4.0 allowing you to directly connect one PS4 to another? So you could transfer the HDD contents, or just nearly zero-lag on SFV etc.

Both PS4's must be connected via ethernet to a modem/router actually! I don't foresee anyone not being able to do that, so it should be fine!

Pretty sure Microsoft first party is more than capable of taking advantage of their hardware.

I don't know what it means but this could be hinting at the neo:

Changes from 2.5r/1.995r to 2.5s/1.100s (8-20-2016)

Added Bink UE4 plugin support for PS4!
Added support for UE4 4.13.
Added Metal support to the Bink Mac SDK (and the UE4 plugin).
Added Bink Unity plugin support for Windows universal builds.
Fixed a crash bug in the Unity plugin on MacOS and Linux.
Added built-in support for lightweight graphics contexts on PS4.
Moved to PS4 SDK 3.5 (shaders compiled for both GPU modes).
Bink plugin source now ships with UE4 plugins.

I don't know of two GPU modes.

Pretty sure Microsoft first party is more than capable of taking advantage of their hardware.

I don't think you understood me. They are.

I'm suggesting they aren't as good technically as Sony first party, which would then give the perception of a smaller gap then actuality.

Does anyone have any details on this? It would be more than handy for those of us that are bandwidth challenged due to sh!tty ISP's.

Thanks

Before the edit:

Still not over your victim complex? I thought maybe your parity thread performance would've brought some self-reflection but seemingly not so.

Hm - not really sure what you're talking about. It was just a joke, but not a good one so I deleted it.

I'm just here excited/intrigued about Neo like everyone else. Have kind of convinced myself if it's £349 then I'll buy one... especially if it has RDR.

I follow him for the Jokes mainly and hard stats, but think he is fairly reliable with leaks might be vaugeness might be just can't spell stuff out or will get shit on by Sony etc. Anyway he's a nice dude certainly to me

To me there is a FAR leap between I've heard it might release in November and something like he wrote which says nothing at all.

Is there a google docs link that'll update with an archive link of the stream?

I'll be at work during the Live thing and wanna watch it at home, avoiding spoilers

And im saying they're likely just as good. We are talking about companies of people that come and go.

Yeah i would not put any money on the Nov myself I am hoping for next year to be honest as psVR on preorder and dont think I can justify getting both, not that i can't afford it, just a lot of money and got to save up for Kinda Funny Live 3

Right, well, agree to disagree.

Throughout the 360/PS3 gen (where the 360 had a stronger GPU) and throughout this (where the PS4 has a stronger GPU), I've found that the Sony first party studios have consistently put out more visually and technically impressive titles.

If it was just this gen, I'd chalk it up to power. But they did so last gen too with stuff like UC2-3, TLOU, God of War 3 and Beyond.

Iterations can be good and bad, like everything.

Seen Android as example. If I want to develop something for my Moto g(first generation) which is using Android 5.1 officially, I would only target between 24,1%(^1) and 36.6%(^2) of Android users(devices active on Google Play).

That makes me do tough decisions... Large user base vs what I want do deliver. And if you are working for a company, most of the times the "large user base" will win. That's why I also had to support old IE(Internet Explorer) versions with JavaScript and CSS...

The mobile, PC and console main users have some similarities. They want a device that runs their game of choice, and they don't jump to new tech as soon as they know about it. It take years. For that part a single PS4 is doing it's job. And doing iterations wouldn't affect the OG hardware adoption.

The main point of iterations, as Andrew House said, is that consoles are trying to keep it's users away from high end PCs. Which is a new share for Sony for later users who are choosing between a new PC or PS4, or the ones who already left.

The main advantage for iterations is high tech at reach. Runing games on ultra/60fps is beautifull, of course. It's not for everyone, but for some. That's good for them and us they are doing it. There is even a share market who have the money to upgrade and don't even know(and don't want to) how to build a PC. We gotta give that consoles are easy plug-n-play devices, that mostly runs without a headache and don't broken drivers while having a birthday.

TLDR; Iterations are good to reach a new public that moved on to PC and give us better games, but it could make things sluggish as supporting the OG version with restrictions.

I'm typing from my phone... So give me a discount

I reckon Witcher 3 has a very high chance of getting patched, purely as fan service.

Technically they aren't as good and they're much smaller so their games will be less frequent which will also diminish the perceived gap between the two.
