Nvidia FAST Sync, what pc gamers have needed for decades

So this is usefull only if you have high fps and bad (60hz) monitor?
There is no visible tearing if you use 144hz monitor.

Recently played Metro 2033 and fast sync practically saved the experience.

Game is full screen only, no borderless window, no triple buffering. Full screen and vsync yes/no. Period. So I lock to 60 because fuck screen tearing but I got horrible, HORRIBLE micro-stutter like I've never experienced in my life. Remembered this thread, looked up how to turn on fast sync and it fixed everything. No more micro-stutter, no screen tearing, higher fps and less input lag. It's like a dream. Finding it hard to think of a reason not to have it enabled on every game going forward.

Frame cpaping to 60 would not prevent tearing. You need to be synced with the monitor.

It seems ot be working with Total War Warhammer well too. It's nice to have a responsive cursor. Also, in that game, vsync has a slight hit on performance, as do many other games actually.

Unless I see issues in particular games I'm likely to leave this one for all my full screen game,s even if I don't hit 60+ FPS.

Sure!

This really is a god-send for someone who pc games on a big hdtv, v-sync helps a ton but still want no lag.

Anybody get GTA V to not stutter?

I finally got it to stop with GSYNC enabled, Fast Sync on. For whatever reason, GTA V resets my Monitor Technology to Fixed Refresh after exiting the game, while the game was on, it stayed enabled.

Just having GSYNC on with my 60Hz monitor resulting in terrible screen tearing, thankfully Fast Sync fixed that.

Do you have pre-render limit set to anything other than app controlled by any chance?

This is what I've noticed with my 120 Hz TV. I essentially get no tearing even when I'm around 60-70 fps in games (with my 1070). I feel like Fastsync has a better effect the higher your refresh rate.
