Having issues updating my public beta of Sierra. I'm trying to download and install beta 7. When I hit install it tells me to restart, so I hit that and it says that available updates have changed. I click Details, and it sends me back to my updates page in the app store but doesn't do anything. I hit install again and it gives me the same message. Any suggestions?

Here's a fun bug! On my iPad Pro 12.9", I can't go back in my music app. I'm looking at a screen that says "You haven't downloaded any music" which is all fine and dandy, but in the top left there is a back button to go one menu up. It doesn't work. It'll act like it's getting hit, but the screen never moves. Force closing the app doesn't work, neither does restarting and hard resetting. I'm basically permanently stuck on this screen

how is ios10 latest beta on 6S?

just curious some of the animations seem less than perfectly smooth on my 12.9" ipad pro.
No problems on my 6S other than some buggy apps that aren't properly supported by the OS yet.

btw why have they added that share option when you use 3D Touch on an app on the home screen? Seems really pointless. Not a fan to how big the info bar is at the top of a conversation window in Messages either, I thought turning off contact photos would make it smaller but that only gets rid of the photos on the main Messages screen.

I had this happen. It seems the installer script doesnt go into the recovery/install it makes. When it reboots, hold down option and manually select the recovery partition created, it should continue the installation.

How do you go from the public beta to the official release? Is it OTA?
It'll happen. If nothing changes from the Gm then you'll already be on it. If the final version does happen to be different it'll update you. Just remember you'll remain on the beta channel so if a 10.0.1 beta comes out even the first day you'll get an update for it too.

If you want to be safe, and would rather just stay on the stable channel when the final comes out, wait until release day and delete the profile then check for updates and it will show 10.0. You can always then jump back on the beta whenever you want.

All this to leave beta? Shouldn't have signed up today, damn my impatience

TherealAbed just being thorough.

If you want to leave beta, it's just Settings>General>Profile select it and delete it. Then you'll have to restart and you'll be with the standard iOS version. Takes less than a minute.

Thanks just did that, but I'm still on the beta iOS right? Because I'm still on iOS 10. What's the next update I'll get, the official release?

Are you guys messing with him on purpose? I can't tell.

The next update you receive will be the official OS10 update in a week or so. Update to that and you will be completely off of the beta cycle.

Not really messing with him but with the announcement coming soon, I don't think there will be another beta. It's likely that the current beta will be what will be released to the public as the stable version. Then again, another beta could be released tomorrow, then I'll be wrong.

Doesn't the GM usually drop around the date of the conference with the public getting it with the release of the new phones?

There are far too many bugs in the current beta build for it to be same as the GM build.

GM will probably arrive Sept 7th, with public release 1-2 weeks after that.

Just delete the profile now and stick with the beta you have. You will get an update to the final version when it comes out.

Or wait until the GM comes out (Since it'll probably be the final version) and then delete the profile after you install it and you'll have it earlier but won't be getting pushed to the betas anymore and can stay on the stable channel.

Your choice. Easy choice. Either delete it now or after updating to the (most likely unless a big game breaking bug appears) last beta later this week.

Cool, I'm making a difference:

"Engineering has implemented changes that are supposed to fix the problem you reported. These changes are in the latest version of the software available to you, 16A313a.

Feedback ID 2137034, Listen to "artist" not working"

Huh?

Do we have any news on how Sierra works with Aperture (and to a lesser extent iPhoto)?

I'm hoping it just does, because I'm not quite ready to give up on it yet. They work lovely in El Capitan

I'd like to know too. I reverted back to iPhoto because Photos was missing some features iPhoto had and I haven't quite cleaned up my library yet to begin the move to Photos again.

Seems that macOS Sierra does not simply update to the final. You have to download a whole new installer from the App Store. (Which needs a redemption code from the dev portal.)

Also, no GM for iOS 10 PB yet.

Public Beta seeds don't get GM build early. If you want it before public release you'll have to seek it out elsewhere.

Weird that they still want the Developer Profile or Xcode 8 GM installed.

I think I'll just wait until next Wednesday.

...And use iOS 10 for two days before my iPhone 7 arrives.
