Don't get hung up on the issue of him having a gun or not in a state that allows having a gun or not too long.
Until we have a video I don't understand how this is the narrative you've concluded on.
We legit have zero idea what happened besides dude was in his car then dude died.
Protect the constitutional rights of the police officer...
This guy pissed me off royally.
If we're doing an over under on the rights the police ignored.Uh, it's an important point though.

Am told NASCAR Hall of Fame was looted, Buffalo Wild Wings looted, Westin looted #CharlotteProtests

no lie

NASCAR HOF is several blocks away from where the main parts of the protests were, certainly by the time they turned violent.

Charlotte Hornets NBA store too. And everyone who looted it, ran away immediately back into their cars or houses.

What the actual duck. These riots serve no purpose other than for hecklers to profit off of the unfortunate.NASCAR HOF is several blocks away from where the main parts of the protests were, certainly by the time they turned violent.
Edit:
Concluded? I've been using words "seems", "if", "doctored", I'm very cautious about every little "detail" that's been released. I haven't concluded shit.
The point I made was that open carry or not doesn't mean a damn thing. You're not supposed to walk out of a car with a gun in your hand when the police are yelling at you. If you have a gun, you either walk out with it holstered, or drop the holster in your seat and then walk out. I'm not saying he actually HAD a gun. I'm saying nobody should be doing it in any open-carry state with a police presence.
Also, again, if that picture is real, he was not shot in his car. He was about 25 feet away from it. And only the videos can corroborate if the pic is real now.
Doesn't mean anything unless they also passed an Open Carry While Black law and, last time I checked, that was still illegal in all 50 statesBut North Carolina is an open carry state, so....
What the actual duck. These riots serve no purpose other than for hecklers to profit off of the unfortunate.
Yeah, I had posted that one earlier.

Shit is fucked up. There's a woman on CNN right now talking about how the protest started very peaceful until a group of assholes on bikes and ATVs came and started trashing everything. They turned it violent and more and more came to take advantage. And of course the shooting.
Mad fucked up.
Live stream of people on the highway. I swear I just saw a car get hijacked.
RE: 'the constitutional rights of police officers."
Does anyone know what that refers to? Like, what constitution? The state constitution? The U.S. Constitution?
I realize my lack of constitutional knowledge is shameful, but I've never heard this before.
Does this mean that there are rights police officers have that can conflict with the general citizenry's rights?
Uh, it's an important point though.
Not really since he wasn't the person they were serving the warrant too he was a person minding his own business. They harassed him and then they killed him.
It sort of reminds me of the time that swat team blew that hole in a baby's chest by throwing a flashbang grenade in his crib and then tried to blame the baby for it literally.
So wait for the video?

Yes.
Look man, I'm gonna call it how I see it (whenever it is I see it). I remember when video of the Eric Garner killing came out, I was fucking BOILING. Because that shit was straight up manslaughter. Like, I wanted that little pig motherfucker charged and indicted. I had cop friends who started shit with me and blocked me on FB. Fuck them. That was plain as day and they couldn't admit it. Because of mutual friends I even saw one of them at a get together, and the dude was pretending like we were cool as shit. And asked me for a ride home, I told him sure...and ducked out quietly.
And I've had my run ins with NYPD many times before, twice detained wrongfully. And had cops fired for incidents, as well. I ain't no cop sympathizer. But I'm also not gonna walk around with blindfolds pinning blame where it isn't due. So I'm going to wait for the video before I make my final judgements.
A freelance photographer on CNN is reporting a hole in a Bank of America building. BofA has several towers downtown in the protest area, including one at the intersection where someone was shot earlier, as I mentioned previously.
Edit: Hmm, he seems to at one further down Tryon. On my map above, start at the top of the line, and go perpendicular down the intersecting street.
Anyway, the specifics of where is interesting to me, obviously, as a local.
From what he's saying it seems the damage is much more widespread than what the news coverage has been showing.

hearing that Bank of America employees uptown are being told to stay home on Thursday ... anyone else? #CharlotteProtests
It doesn't matter if he was the person they were serving the warrant to if he was getting out of his car and waving a gun at them.
We have no reason to think that's the case right now, but your post is just silly.
Yes, it was exactly like that. A grown man who refused to put down his gun is like a helpless baby getting blown up....
.....
.....
When the police are serving a warrant, it is well within their authority to secure a safe zone.
That thing is smaller than the officer's heal. If it's a gun, it's a tiny handbag gun or something. Nothing a cop with a vest should really be afraid of.

Can't believe this isnt getting more discussion on the forum. I am in Charlotte and things are tense here. People are nervous.
I work uptown, blocks from the location of the shooting. I am wondering if I should just stay home tomorrow.

Yes
I would give Uptown a wide berth for the few days at least.
The Panthers playing at home on Sunday is going to be...a scene.
Oh gracious.
Move the game to Clemson. It would be retro. (The Panthers played their first season at Clemson while their uptown stadium was being built.) (Terry Bradshaw rather enjoyed saying "CLEMPSON!" that year.)
40 million blacks
1 million police.
We are asleep at the wheel. We can have reform by Friday if we mobilized on a scale not seen since the 60s.
After dabo comments that would the worse thing possible.
