I was curious about throwing in a Focus

Might start doing that for round before round 6 and see if it bridges the gap more consistently

But I mean.. Even if 1-2 live They usually are practically dead and they have yet to full wipe my team before I kill them
 
Welp...if I have a mage friend in my list I can kill each round of ELT in one combo...but I never added many mage friends :/ Guess I'll have to fill up my slots with some more.

Swapped my leader to Exdeath (a lowly 313MAG one)
 
Swapped Lasswell to Vaan (and gave Vaan 2x20% MP stuff).

With Vaan focusing 5 & 6 wave, I did repeat in 6th wave. Got chain of 4 and all enemies dead. So one mage wasnt part of chain.

I think this setup is safer than all Blizzaga (where one Blizzaga is from Lasswell = Shitty MAG).
 
Damn, some of you have some seriously awesome mages. I feel like my little 315 Kefka just falls too short compared to some of the Gods on my friends list

This was the winning change for me as well. My Blizzaga team is more like a Blizzara team - CoD with Hero Rings and Shiva w/ Blizzara, level 49 Kuja with an Ice Rod, Golbez and Kefka maxed. I played around with Edgar and an Icebrand, but either couldn't nail the timing or some sort of damage variance made it extremely touch and go. Swapped him out for Vaan and suddenly it's smooth as silk - 300+ MAG friend allowing.

Full Break on the named units in 2-5 (cheaper on MP, quicker), Focus on the sixth wave. RIP 45 NRG figuring that out, but so it goes.

My daily pull was Gaffgarion. I hope I have that much success on Agrias next week...
 
So just a quick question. The explorations are just for the 2 recipes we need and all the grinding is done in the battles (pro / elt)? So I should basically just grind whichever mission my team is strong enough for?

I also switched my leader over to Kefka w/ 300 mag as leader. I'll see if I have any spots to clear up
 
Valentus - that is GENIUS! Too bad I don't have Rydia's TM yet. Vivi gets Dualcast with Blizzaga. Game Over in one shot every time I would imagine

New banner, O boy! Pulled and got a Gold Crystal - looking good so far, but expecting another Clyne or Anzalem....but got...Garnet! Neat, new unit!

Totally forgot about this recipe!!! I've been melee heavy working on Chizuru's TM group, and I think it dropped right around the same time as the gravity rod, which ate all the farplane souls. Just crafted up 6 of them and it is making a world of difference.
 
Hrmm so the elite version of this new place is legit. Guess it's time to finally get some blizzara/aga chaining going. But only 3% total from my last +30 MAG TM. What do what do?

Once you clean up everything you basically run Pro/Elite for Auricite

Once you hit your Auricite goal.. The ADV exploration is a goldmine for Magicite for your epsers
 
Damn, I have almost 3000 shards already... Need to do dailies on my backup account but there is no chance in Hell that team is capable of this event. I will make short work of this event for the items I want, then just run the explorations for megacrysts and magicite.
 
Can confirm what other people are saying. I barely cleared ELT with my regular team, and only because I got lucky and survived 2 rounds. Next time brought in a mage crew and chained ice. Everything died in a single turn. My party was:

103 mag Shantotto (blizzara)
144 mag Golbez
244 mag Tellah
325 mag Kefka
296 mag Exdeath
+ ~300 mag friend

Just cast in order of increasing mag, and always do it manually to ensure a full chain. My last few hits were doing 30k-40k damage each.

Thanks. I'll probably craft the sword and shield and figure out where to go after that.

I managed to beat the elite battle on my first try, but I brought the wrong units. I'm going to rebuild the team slightly since some were underpowered (52 celes) and give it another attempt

how are folks doing elite if you don't have a full blizzaga squad?

ended up reviving 3 times to finish my first run (I know I should have stopped, but i accidentally hit revive... and did it 2 times because not finishing would felt like a waste of lapis!).

I've not tried it yet, but I'd be interested in hearing any tips for those of us who don't have that many mages.
 
Well I'm rocking an Ex-Death, Kefka x2, and a Golbez with a CoD. Using a friends Mage as needed.

For those lacking mages I would say if you have a CoD or hell even a Garland, the Human Killer trait is perfect for finishing off pesky Knights. People should post what their set ups are and we can try and help!
 
so, with my vivi (that i put on leader now) my party can clear pretty easy ELT.

My team is like this:

Lightning 461 ATK (can be a chizuru too with high atk) With diabolos with Man-Eater skill (VERY IMPORTANT)
Vivi 276 MAG (is the best i can do with vivi because only 3 materia slots)
Vaan (for full break and focus, Lid can work too)
Kefka 293 MAG
Exdeath 220 MAG
Friend with high MAG

Round 1-2 : just attk with blizzaga and vivi dualcast blizzara (elemental chain sheet)

Round 3-5: Lightning cast Area Blast/Chizuru barrage, Vaan Full break on Wiegraf/Isilud/Loffrey, the mages do the same as before

Round 6: Vaan focus, everyone else the same.

Its very possible that in round 6 the only survivor will be Loffrey, but with only him, even if he cast Delirium, the fight is already won.

Unless you have 10 MAG+30%, theres no way to pass this trial with only the "repeat" button.
 
I have the most budget welfare Blizzaga squad, and by that I mean it's not even a full Blizzaga squad. all I got it Tellah, Golbez and Ludmille (who doesn't even have that crap, just Blizzara) backed up by Leo and Lena. Don't think I can farm the ELT stuff with you guys.

I did it the first time with a 77 Laswell, 80 Golbez ~220mag, 80 Kefka 300+mag, 70 Tellah ~250mag and a 48 Celes. I borrowed a 324 Exdeath and had to use a couple of echo drops to cure silence.
 
hmmm i hear edgar with icebrand chainsaw is a good sub to build up chain.

enchanted maze is sitll up so ill try to get my other tellah to the lvl for blizzaga wtih all these daily nrg pots
 
I've been running into some issues. Few things.

How quick do you need to hit the next button to chain?

My team right now is

Shanotto - 117 MAG
Lasswell - 127 MAG
Celes - 179 MAG
Tellah - 196 MAG
Kefka - 339 MAG

I'm considering replacing Shanotto with WoL for Full Break and give him Shiva, so I can chain Blizzard with him too. I also do have a CoD, who I can drag out, but isn't geared at all.

It seems like one unit survives every now and then, and their AE attack fucks up my shit hardcore.

I also have Goblez and a 2nd Kefka, but both aren't leveled up.
