Online was ok-ish at launch. I didn't expect it to last though.
I think some DLC would help breathe life back into online.

Just picked this up on the eShop sale for $11.
This game is FUN. I like the boost orbs and polarity switching mechanics. Like it's been mentioned in this thread, this game is kinda like Mario Kart - shit happens and you're going to lose and win sometimes on a whim. I think if you approach it that way (you're just going to lose sometimes) the game can be a lot of fun is played casually.
Also I havent seen it mentioned in this thread: playing on the Nunchuck and Wii Remote is way easier on my hands than the GamePad. I give high recommendation for that controller setup, very comfortable and the control scheme plays naturally. My hands got cramped after about half an hour on the GamePad, switch to Remote+Nunchuck and it was a lot better!

Probably like trophies and achievements, were as you progress you notice a trophy been rarer and with a smaller percentage.
It just means that most people don't play as much or even finish. Many just play it once and move on.
I thought that, though I was surprised by the percentage but the third championship had 15K entries (and you need to finish within the first three place in the previous tournament to unlock the following).
I cannot wrap my head around the math.

I bought this game today and I have to say......it's damn amazing. No idea why they didn't made an F-Zero game but it's probably the best futuristic racer since F-Zero GX. It even has the same anouncer, right?
Absolutely fantastic. I can't believe how good this game looks at 60 FPS. This is one of the best looking games this gen, including PS4 and Xbox One.
The MP seems not very active and that's a shame. What a wonderful game and it only costs 14,99.....unbelievable.

The multiplayer is grossly unsatisfying because leading is too easy and catching up is too frustrating. Stick to single player and local.

For those who don't want to click on the link: it's 4.99 € in the Eurozone, so 4.99 USD and 4.20 GBP.
EDIT: Oh, and also, the DLC needs 13.7 MB on the HDD and a 2.2 MB(!) download. That was a fast download.

The DLC seems really solid. You can tell they put a lot of work into it.

Having a very annoying problem where every time I boot up the game, I have to go into the eShop to convince the game I've bought the DLC, even though I've completed both cups multiple times. Anyone else have this problem? Shin'en seems to be aware of it, but hasn't said anything about fixing it.

Make sure to yell at them on twitter if you haven't already, I'd like for it to be fixed by the time I get my console back.
The actual content was likely patched in. The "dlc" is likely just an unlock key. Shin'en are compression wizards, but they're not that good.
It amazes me how the teacks are so good but they somehow fucked up doing a good order again. Carbon should be inversed, Iridium shouls have Iceland last.
The haze is downright incredible, while it's a bit frustrating it's easily the best track in the entire pack. I'm glad I stayed away from spoilers regarding the carbon cup.

Holy crap, did this game come out last year?! I saw the topic and thought "Oh, cool, that game finally got released!"
Do you see the iridium and carbon cup? Those are the dlc.
I'm thinking about buying this game while it's still on sale in NA. Couple of questions:
1. Does the game still freeze (lock up) the system from time to time?
2. Did they fix the problem of the game not recognizing you bought the DLC unless you enter the eShop?

UPDATE: I just found a discussion post on Miiverse which says they fixed the DLC bug. And I'm not seeing anyone complain about the game freezing anymore either. So I think I'm going to take the plunge.
UPDATE 2: Bought the game! It's frigging INCREDIBLE. I'm blown away. And I love the music.
