Final Fantasy XV TwitchCon Presentation Stream

I'm still shocked how good the Xbox one version looks like,
I would have never guessed they would show case that version of the game and it looks as good as the TGS 2016 trailer shown not to long ago.

These posts...

I've seen this Gif a million times
and I've never noticed the score and what team the guy was rooting for.

When Episode Duscae came out, there was an Active Time Report where Tabata mentions that the actual world map is 10 times bigger than the full duscae region (specifically mentioning including the area of Duscae that was blocked for the demo)

So with that in mind, It's looking like the world map above is about 30% of the whole map. This makes more sense..

That sounds promising then. In fact, that sounds absolutely massive. Let's hope that is true.

But in case he meant only the demo part of Duscae, then this map is kinda 10 times Ep Duscae map.

Tabata specifically said it was not just the demo area of Duscae but the whole region that was much larger. Back then we didn't know of Lestallum yet but I remember him telling us back then that there was also a city located in the vicinity. :)

Even if you take that circle and line them up 3x3 (9x episode duscae map), it's only the Duscae Region. And then don't forget you also have Altissia and the Snowy map.

Actually just with our previous posts, now I am fully convinced there is a new unrevealed region, at the very least, as big as this map.. if not bigger. =)

Also let's not forget that Tabata backpedaled on the whole linearity being the middle of the game. He said it's somewhere near the last third.

The whole Lucis region at the very least opens up by Chapter 4. I still feel like there will be another open world map to the southern side or western side of the map since we need more to explore for the other 11 chapters. However, I do think the main cities like Altissia, Tenebrea, and Niflhiem can only be accessed through train/boat, however we know for a fact that in Niflhiem we'll have access to the Regalia thanks to the E3 trailer. Even then I still think Altissia will have area surrounding it unless every monster bounty you get in there is somewhere located in the city itself or back at the Lucis region (which would be off putting).

Also the pamphlet from Gamescon confirmed Solhiem to still be in the game, we haven't seen anything about this area at all. Or anything about the other regions as well really. Cause we know that there is a region and primary city in that area. Lucis ---> Insomnia (although Lestallum makes up for not being to access Insomnia), Accordo -----> Altissia.

The Lucis region while big, isn't really that big compared to most open world games. I would assume it's on the same level as GTAV's northern part of the map. The roadtrip theme would be seriously underdeveloped if it's just the Lucis region.

Wait, I might be slow. How does the E3 trailer confirm this?

Which pamphlet and how did it confirm it?

Acknowledging the existence of a place in Eos doesn't mean you will actually visit it in the game.

There's a setpiece of driving the Regalia into Niflheim as explosions are happening.

The Uncovered trailer shows Noctis in Niflheim, and the car is at the forefront.

Btw, according to some recent Japanese tweets (I don't know in what context) Solheim apparently doesn't exist anymore and is the "precursor" civilization of Niflheim in the sense of Niflheim taking technology or ancient knowledge from Solheim or something like that. Not sure where I read that.

EDIT:
Okay, I know now where I heard it. Mognet discussed a GameFAQ post of someone Google-translating a supposed audio commentary from Nozue and Tabata on the Kingsglaive Bluray about Glauca's armor.

Nozue "I That I have a set, originally predecessor of Nifuruhaimu
in armor found in the excavations in the Solheim of the times, I'm something of a super-civilization era."

Tabata "settings that are utilized only in the Kings Ghraib is fairly .
it's game Solheim has not come out. because the game in a setting of the times you do not draw in. "

While you're right that Solhiem could be entirely not in the game, it's still confirmed to be a nation of Eos.

Edit: Although I never heard about the stuff Koozek is talking about.

At the very least, there's a road that must connect to Niflheim. That's not in the map that we're talking about so we know it's missing a confirmed roadway. I guess that the road to Niflheim could be separated by a loading screen later, but I don't think that's as likely.

It sure as hell isn't 5 minutes away from Lestallum, either.

Hey guys I didn't understand the whole talk about a Zoo...
Is there a place in previous FF names zhou or zuo?

So the devs where going to show that place but they decided show the bandersnatch creature fight?

It's in some train tracks though, so this could be tied to the train sequence. AKA, this could be part of the
no returning areas, and therefore just be a setpiece. A very cool looking setpiece tho, maybe a bit akin to Cloud escaping Midgar in the G-Bike.

You are most likely right, but the bold might be stretching a bit. That image is blurry as fuck, how can you tell it's the same place as:

The bridge from the image is in the GIF too if you look closely.

I think there is going to be open areas after Lucis simply by the fact that they would have never shouted "OMFG GUYS WE MAKIN OPEN WORLDS NOW!!!" from their tallest building for two years straight only for it make just the first 4-6 chapters of the game.
Plus Tabata's wording about the later part of the game being linear is totally unclear and easy to misinterpretate (is this actually a word?): he first said it was the second half of the game, then it became the later third and then just the final section; he first said it would have been linear, then it meant that linear was intended as pacing/narrative-wise, and even specified that there would still be side-content and exploration; plus the idea of closing of a big part of the world that is not the final one completely contradicts the concept of having an airship.

Idk, i think its fair being concerned because all the open areas we've been shown are from the first part of the game (hell, basically 90% of what they've shown to us is from the early parts), but i think people are just being overly concerned.

They are. Apparently Duscae was blocked off in Chapter 1.
Right choice probably

Maybe makes the world feel a bit less open than otherwise, but hopefully better than spending 20 minutes looking for a quest in the wrong direction, and ending up at the end point for one you haven't picked up yet.

Is the voiced version of Somnus still in the game or has it been fully replaced by the violin version of Somnus?

If I'm not mistaken Shimomura herself in a recent interview confirmed the song still present ingame.

I really hope that the scene from a Versus XIII trailer, where the road is cut by the sea, is still in the game.

This had such a strong feeling of adventure.

I guess that's the spot in Versus when they would have ditched the car, and the normal FF adventure on foot begins.

I also think that's them being cut off from getting back to the invaded Insomnia.

I think it's the other way around: after escaping Insomnia, that's the road they see going to X place. That was the original premise of Versus XIII I believe.

I'm pretty sure Tabata said it was in. Also there was a Japanese ad for the game that was played Somnus with vocals I believe

They used it a few days ago in a Japanese TV ad:

I have never been so uncertain about an upcoming game as I am with Final Fantasy XV. From month to month, my hype has modulated with every bit of media that's been released, taking me from bated anticipation to casual disinterest and back to excitement again. Lately all seems very good, but who knows at this point?

I want to believe. Please let the game be good. Please don't do an MGSV with the story. I need Final Fantasy to be back.

New preview from today (thanks to Mognet's @Storm for posting it):

Final Fantasy XV Hands-On: I Couldn't Put It Down

After years of delay, Final Fantasy XV will finally see the light of day on November 29. And an extended hands-on demo with the $60 Final Fantasy XV has pulled off something I never expected — it's reinvigorated my interest in the title. I've gotten a chance to see what Final Fantasy XV has to offer beyond just pretty graphics, and beneath its shiny exterior beats the heart of a very ambitious role-playing game.

I got to take a deep dive into Final Fantasy XV at a Square Enix press event today (Oct. 5). Unlike FFXV’s E3 demo this past June, which was one enormous battle scene, I got to play from a combat tutorial all the way through Chapter III of this seemingly massive title. What I played was an ambitious and tremendously entertaining combination of Western world design and Japanese character-building. If you ever wished that Final Fantasy and The Witcher could have a baby, it’d look a lot like FFXV.

Tabby the God. My hype is reaching unmeasurable levels.

Is there going to be a livestream? I want to see more of the latest build.

I dont think so. There's no live coverage for any of the BCNGamesWorld event if Im not mistaken.

FFXV artists were doing live art showcase an hour ago.

L and R is flipped around and it's driving me up the wall.

):

It's just right for me because I accidentally connected my left output to my right speaker and vice versa and have been too lazy to switch :P

people like you deserve MONO

edit: seems to have been a problem with the Twitch stream itself; the little bit of Luna's Theme they played towards the end of the stream is also flipped (and can be verified against the Kingsglaive OST).

Guess whatever they had feeding interim music to the stream had cables crossed.

Man, so excited for this. A local gameshop had a trade-in program so I traded in 2 old PS4 games I don't play anymore and got FFXV for €17 :D

If you ever wished that Final Fantasy and The Witcher could have a baby, it’d look a lot like FFXV.

It's cool how FFXV looks like a blend of a WRPG and a JRPG.
