Just wanted to point out the LEDs on the headset in these. Notice they go transparent?

Now imagine the PS4 camera trying to track the headset against the brightly lit green background and you can hopefully understand why it tends to have problems in this setup. The technology is not IR, it's not laser, but instead straight up stereoscopic video (two cameras to form depth calculations).

Well, it's not like a laser-tracking system on Vive lol. It's a much more consumer-friendly / mass market price point. The clothing is not the issue, as most people also won't be in a very brightly lit studio environment like GiantBomb's.

My point was simply that they don't seem to realize the limitations or requirements for this tech (though there are FAQs on PS Blog and info that comes with the PSVR itself) and thus are encountering problems and unsure why. I'm sure if they knew, they'd fix it to avoid further tracking issues for themselves (and their stomachs).
Fair points mate :)

They've already taken strides in their setup since last week and I'm sure that'll continue for their VR look-ins (VRodeos) going forward. They have more close friends at Sony than at Oculus or Valve/HTC so it isn't anything deliberate on their part!

So I got mine today, 5 min setup, super easy and all working. Put the London Heist on to try the Moves out and honestly...... not a single problem so far, all working fine. Picking up objects, throwing them around (even catching things in mid air) aiming, shooting and reloading all feels really natural and is very cool, it just works way better than I thought it would. The gunfight in the van with the bikes is so damn cool, immersive and entertaining.

Having only played with controller on PSVR before today but I had played on Vive so I know how good motion control is in VR and while its clearly not as refined or advanced, PSVR and Move holds up surprisingly well.

Hey, I was a friend of Ryan and am a fan of GiantBomb. Please don't assume me pointing out the issues from a technical standpoint as me saying it's deliberate. If I could have driven up to SF this morning to help them out, I would have.

Just wanted to point out whats likely going on, as someone who is familiar with the tech and working on VR experiences.

Real talk, I'd love to see a language software in VR. Like, go to a market in Paris and point out fruits in French or something. That would be ace.
