The way they said home console, there must be another handheld coming. $299-379 home console with SCD in March, $199-$229 Handheld in December reveal at E3.

The handheld may be sleeker, much more portable, better battery but will have some kind of different aspect such as a dual screen clamshell to be able to play full NX games, while the portable unit of the home console can only play the side quests as it only has a single screen.

There is something to this SCD that we will learn about soon enough, but not until close to launch.

My prediction.

Opens on a train platform with the Nintendo logo overlayed. We see someone standing at night on the platform, earphones in, playing the NX. We don't see it too clearly. The train arrives and they sit on it. We get a better view from behind their shoulder and they are playing Zelda. Text titles keep coming up saying about a revolution and a new way to play.

We cut to their apartment, the screen glowing their face. They walk to their TV, unclip the controllers and dock the NX. The game then appears on their TV and they continue playing with the now detached controllers.

Then the video is a montage of some small clips of general gameplay, some beauty shots of the unit and some more clips of it being used outside the home.

Are they done with directs ? You'd think this warrants a direct.

Considering how wacky the leaks seem to be,I think 3 mins will only raise questions.

Hope its not a crappy reveal.
I think the reason for this is they want to reach out to more people than their usual Direct userbase.

Im just imagining the only game they show in the trailer is ...the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

And then I throw my laptop across the room.

holy shit, woke up to the news. Please be a hybrid, my Vita has serviced me well but it is nearing the end of its life and for the moment there's nothing on the horizon worthy to be its successor

I know ports for new consoles isn't something we should all be asking for man a Pokémon Sun and Moon port that launches day 1 would make me hyped. I don't care if it's just a upres

NEW FREAKING MARIO?!

There is no way they will have a home console and handheld separate skus releasing together.

Even if this was revealed to be a toaster i would still get it to play Zelda and other Nintendo games on it. But it's ofcourse better if they learned from the Wii U and improve on all fronts so that it sells good.

Ninty has a LOT riding on this, ALOT. It will undoubtedly end in tears for fans. Will it be of joy or anger though?

Worst case scenario is it will be a teaser where you see Nintendo's hardware- and software milestone history for the first 1 1/2 minutes followed by half a minute Zelda footage, and the last minute conisting of PR slogans of what the future holds with a Direct (=reveal) date at the end.

You can throw it already now. This is not supposed to show the games, just a first glimpse at hardware. Zelda and maybe Mario, that's all.

So we expecting 2 minutes for console, 1 minute for a sizzle reel?

3 minutes seems like a perfect amount of time for this honestly. Nintendo isn't releasing this holiday, they need to leave the big guns to the first of the year.

And on top of that there will a Nintendo VR for $600 and a Nintendo Car for $50000.

All in one bundle.

I don't know why everyone think's we're going to be seeing new games?

It's 3 minutes long.

Quick 30 second intro > 2 minutes 15 seconds on the hardware detailing specs with a revolving camera around it > 15 second outro

With Zelda running on the screen and maybe a snippet of Mario running on it.

Looking forward to this. Hybrid or no, I just hope they do manage to get all their games on the platform. The Wii U and 3DS libraries combined had enough to be worthwhile for me, but neither did separately. Doubt we'll get that level of details in a 3 minute trailer though, so hopefully they're planning a full reveal next week and/or more specifics come from the investor's meeting.

What a crazy day this is. Excited as fuck for the reveal. Whatever it is I expect it will be both interesting and divisive on here. Expectations are all over the map. This thing has been discussed into the ground for over a year and it will be excellent to see what they have been working on. I really hope we get some gameplay. It's been great being on GAF this whole time. This is only he beginning, believe.
