Early voting in Texas is breaking records in their top 10 counties

I live in Bexar county (San Antonio) and it's pretty anti-trump here. This makes sense though because if I remember correctly, all the major cities in Texas had majority democratic vote last presidential election. What makes the state so red is all the areas in between.
I'm in suburban Fort Worth, and I've seen exactly 1 Trump yard sign and maybe 2 bumper stickers? In past elections, Romney and especially McCain propaganda was everywhere. Considering Romney easily carried Tarrant County last time, I'd be uneasy if I was part of Trump's ground game here.

And it's ALLLL for Trump.

Seriously, look away people. It's embarrassing how many Trump voters are turning out here.

I still think it'll be a close election

You can easily say your against trump and still vote for him because if you say your for trump you will get so much backlash
This is for those republicans saying they are voting for Hilary
Not like anyone sees who you are voting for anyway and you can easily lie

Trump vote still alive , it's not over yet

It may do a California sometime in the future, but that is not going to happen this year. I think a lot of people are putting too much hope into hints of a blue Texas, but I don't see it happening.

It's coming, but it's probably not now, and I expect in 2020 we'll be redder than we are this year. There are lots of suburban white middle class Texans that are college educated, but still a little conservative and vote for business/oil. Trump turns them off and motivates the state's growing Hispanic population to vote against him. If Jeb was the nominee we'd never have heard about a blue Texas.

As someone who lives in Texas and goes to a rather large "conservative" university everyone I know so far has either voted Hillary or write in

Also especially in Denton/Dallas country there is massive influx of Californians due to headquarter changes of companies such as Toyota

Texas only has a decent shot at going blue in a landslide, if I recall correctly. Clinton doesn't seem to quite be there, but it's not off the table either.

Most of those counties are Democratic ones, so if anything, it confirms Texas will be much closer than other elections.

Harris county. Also Galveston county. Old people showing up in droves. It's not a good thing. I personally don't think Trump stands a chance, but people are seriously deluding themselves if they think Texas is going to make any progress turning blue this year.

Harris county here too.

LOL Nope on this side. Besides, it's not like Harris county is 3 streets wide >.>

We still have a large contingent of conservative Hispanic Uncle Toms (or should I say Tio Tomas) here in this state, probably the largest anywhere. We probably won't go blue this year, but if Trump really damaged the Republican party as analysts are saying, then we should become a battleground state a lot sooner than expected. I, along with my traditionally progressive Hispanic brethren, are ready to mobilize once again against the forces of 'One of the Good Ones'.

In all likelihood Hillary will lose Texas but I just want to see the Republican pants-shitting if she comes within 5%.

It is the same story here in Farmers Branch in Dallas County. I've only seen two Trump bumper stickers and those have been in the parking lot at my job lol. There's a guy in a different department with a Trump bobble head and make america great again wallpaper at his desk so i'm sure the trumpmobile belongs to him.

I live in MD, and the only signs I see in the countryside around Baltimore are for Trump.

Do you think Maryland is going for Trump?

His supporters are just extremely vocal and proud to be "anti-establishment", and being very in your face about it.
That's why I don't buy the "there are scores of ashamed Trump supporters that will show up on election day and don't register in the polls" narrative, whereas I could see a huge amount of minority vote not having been counted in the "likely voting" model.

I'm in a key battleground state. Trump signs everywhere. Haven't seen a single Clinton sign.

As long as Texas is too close to call come when the polls close I will be happy. I want the GOP shitting their pants on election night.

Yea but dude... It's Texas.

Prove me wrong Texas

In both Texas and Florida, Hispanic turnout has been record breaking.

I don't know if Clinton will win Texas. Neither does anyone else in the thread. What we do know is she's polling as well as Obama (in the mid 40's) a couple of weeks before the election and has just now bought her first ads in the state.

Obama had 44% of the vote. In a race without Gary Johnson soaking up 7% of the vote, and low turnout for Hispanics. At this point, anything is possible.

Go vote.

It's not going to happen

Right?

It's going to depend on voter turnout in those top 10 counties. Most of the rural counties in Texas that aren't close to the border are red to deep red. We're talking Romney votes totaling 70-90%.

What is a bit worrying so far as turning Texas blue is that the Collin County turnout is so high. That's the most conservative major suburban area in the state. Then again, polls say that educated whites are voting against Trump, so who knows.

I live in Texas and there is a pretty big split here in the South. Texas varies location to location.

Nothing like coming into a Texas thread and reading all the stupid jackass comments.

Can you blame them?. They are just jealous of our BBQ, 2-step skills, Whataburger, and the Spurs. The jealousy runs deep here.

El Paso here. I thought it was gonna be a short wait yesterday but it was a 30+ minute wait.

Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, not a lot of younger people spotted. TX will stay red.

Without a party breakdown these numbers don't mean a whole lot.

For an idea of how close they could be, or not, here's how they went in 2012.

There was an article about how she mimicked Obama's data process. And how, sometimes, them buying ads or making moves may signal their internal data shows promise.

As always, there is a lie in every Believe!

I've been thinking about voting early just to avoid any potential fuckery on election day from Trump supporters "observing" the election.

Harris is Houston, so that'd be Blue.

Harris County has a large suburban population in addition to the city of Houston, it barely went blue in 2012. However I expect that margin to be much bigger this time due to Trump's anti-Hispanic rhetoric

Even if Texas ends-up going red, I will revel in these fuckers having to sweat for a while when its polls close and, instead of calling the state immediately, the networks come out with: "Texas is.. Too Close to Call."

Turnout has definitely increased. I'm hearing of lines at the early voting sites and a lot of people saying they have never seen that before. The lines are not terribly long but just the fact you have to wait to vote early says a lot.

Edit- found a source if anyone is interested

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...ban-rural-divide-is-splitting-america/265686/

No kidding, went to South Park Mall yesterday to vote early and the line was insane. Wound up going to Las Palmas Public Library to vote, which was still crazy long but only took about an hour. As someone said, these lines and wait times really say something about early voting.

I'm early voting tomorrow in Harris county tomorrow at a Fiestas (Mexican grocery store chain, how ironic lol), will report if there is a huge Hispanic turnout.

I went to a Randall's on Monday around lunch and there was a 15-minute wait. Mostly old people out voting.

And it's ALLLL for Trump.

I'm in southwest Austin and I see exactly the opposite. I've seen only one Trump sign and around a dozen Hillary signs in my neighborhood alone. Oh, and one Gary Johnson sign lol.

I've already seen signs prohibiting concealed weapons at universities during their planned Early Voting activities.

Did my part today. Wait was about 20 min during lunch time in Fort Bend county. Where I live, haven't seen much of pro-Trump or pro-Hillary people, more along the lines of the "both sides are garbage" or "anti-Hillary" types.

It would be absolutely amazing if Texas flipped. Hopefully this turnout is mostly people voting Dem cuz the GOP would hit apocalypse level meltdowns if they lost Texas to Hillary.

Well yes, but in this case conventional wisdom dictates that Texas is Republicanland. This is a good thing

Exactly. If Texas were to somehow go redder, that wouldn't change a thing. Texas could be 100% red and Trump would get the same number of electoral votes.

But the less red it is, the more panicky the GOP will get. There is no downside for the Democrats.

I gotta remember to buy popcorn for Nov 8th. If Texas is close, that will certainly add another fun story to the show.

I'm ok with Ted Cruz getting fucked. That is all I ask.

Trump has energized conservatives in Texas like no other.
Must depend on where you're at in the state. Most diehard Republicans in this area seem to not like Trump at all. If they show up to the polls, it's more about their hate for Hillary than their love for Trump.
