Bahahahahaha, perfect gif usage.

Nah, the media has already begun to report this as a Comey covering his ass thing rather than a Clinton scandal.

It might affect tight down ballot races but the White House is still on lock.

If trump wins I am handcuffing you to myself, nothing like a white dude to vouch for you.

Clinton's odds have fallen 10% on betting markets so it's definitely had an effect.

They could just as easily bounce back... But people arguing that this was going to have no effect are delusional.

Keeps the untrustworthy narrative going, and the focus on her. Not what she wanted.

Oh this is definitely impactful. And she better hope nothing more comes of this. I'd expect this to bring polls back to pre "pussy" levels. Clinton +1 or 2.

You think she's going to drop between 4 to 8 points from this?

Btw it was really the first debate that propelled her upwards.

I would be so angry if the dems can't win the Senat back. What a fucking waste of an opportunity. >:(

This is what really matters. If the right has the majority of the seats then we'd be lucky if she accomplishes near half of what she says. So much stuff Obama wanted to do was forgotten due to the Senate shutting that shit down.

I don't think she'll drop that much... But she's already dropped to ~+5 before this broke. Might lose another point, 2 maximum.

Unless something else scandalous comes forward about Trump, this is going to be way closer than it should.

ABC tracking poll has her only up by two today. Dems should be thankful Gop nominated the worst possible candidate. Kaisch or even Rubio would likely be winning.

So I don't really understand what happened here? I feel like I'm massively misinformed on this one but this is basically what I got out of this;

During an investigation into Weiner ( completely unrelated to Clinton's private server ) they found 'emails' ( of which they have no idea yet on the contents ) and then made a connection to Clinton ( "Well, we don't know what's in these mails, so they could contain anything, so they could theoretically contain super secret information on Clinton's server." ) and then sent this letter about them reviewing new things regarding Clinton to Republican people only?

Is that interpretation correct or am I missing things here?

If I got that correct, how is that not blatantly partisan behavior on the part of the FBI dir.?

Let's be honest, if it wasn't for Trump, it'd be Ted Cruz.

And he'd might actually be winning this race by now.

Democrats really need a gut check with how they pick candidates at this point.

I disagree, those candidates would have run a campaign on the issues and Clinton would have destroyed them.

Ted Cruz? A man more hated than Trump by his party and equally hated by Democrats... Nice lol

I don't believe that you can win on the issues anymore unfortunately. People vote on party lines and independents vote for who they like more personally. I can't explain why the race is this close any other way.

Democrats seem to be on a winning streak when it comes to picking Presidential nominees. They should probably continue exactly what they've been doing the last 12 years.

It's close because Donald Trump is a celebrity.

Democratically?

Should they have appointed the guy who got 3 million less votes by fiat or something?

I'm talking about how we pick our candidates to begin with, not the primaries themselves.

We surely didn't pick Clinton and Sanders to run in the primaries, only which one we liked between them.

Wasn't Bush in Office 12 years ago?

If this is even close, you'd have to worry come 4 years from now. Trump could very easily make this a contest now because the Democrats keep shooting themselves in the foot.

It's close because the country is ultrapolarized. There isn't much room for voters to swing.

Who else was ready and able?

That's the million dollar question. Was anyone ready, and the party decided to play favorites and hope the historic viewpoint of having a woman president would be enough, or does nobody else in the house want to put themselves through this year long mess of a general election?

I don't think Ted Cruz would've done that much better of a job. He's seen as a slimeball even among his own party. A big part of why Trump was able to steamroll was that his competition was a clown car of weak candidates.

You've got it backwards; the Democrats have run their strongest candidates, and these candidates have done very well for themselves. It's the Republicans who are running the yahoos - I don't think that a single Republican running for the nomination would have had a chance in the general. And with what you have to do to appease the patients running the asylum, it's not going to be possible for the foreseeable future.

What the Democrats have to work on are figuring out how to get their voters to the election booth during non-Presidential elections, and how to do better at the state level.

The GOP is on life support now. They have way bigger things to worry about now that their party has been exposed and splintered.
I think that the only question is when the Republican party is going to split. At this rate, they're locking themselves permanently out of the White House and the fiscal conservatives and neocons are going to get fed up with that.

The only Republican candidate who looked scary was Rubio, and that's before we realized that he's just a stuffed shirt.

“
You have the chance to have influence, to make a difference, and those who say ‘my vote doesn’t matter anyway,’ … you know these margins are small in a lot of these states, so your vote matters,” Obama reiterated. “And if you want to break gridlock in Washington, then you can’t give your power away. … I would just say to everybody that this is as important of an election as I’ve ever seen, the choices have not been starker.”
Obama does appear optimistic about Clinton’s chances. When asked about his advice for the next president, he offered some kind words to his former Secretary of State.
“My advice to Hillary will be, just listen to your conscience and do what you think is right and worry about the politics later. People always ask ‘how is that you stay so calm, ignore a lot of the stuff that’s said about you’ and what I always tell people is ‘look, I keep a long view on things.’ If I know every day that I’m doing my very best, I’m working as hard as I can and I’m making decisions based on what’s good for the people that I’m serving, then it doesn’t really matter what the day-to-day poll numbers are. What will matter is when I look I will say I did things that right way, and I think that Hillary will do the same — we’re only going to be in a position to, you know, have confidence in our next president if everybody votes.”

Why yikes?

Or last 24. Nevermind that W stole his first term and used Iraq and fear mongering to win the second, anyone really misses the dude and the trillions he wasted?

Right, but we are talking about voters here. They would of jumped on his straight edge conservative train, and there would be a lot less dirt on him than Trump. This has obviously become less about policies and more about a popularity contest than ever before.
