What was the most violent movie you watched as a kid?

cant really name one so here's a list of every violent thing i can think from top of my head, there's definitely more as I've seen lots of movies as a little kid

commando

Scream

Final destination

terminator

RoboCop 1&2

starship troopers

friday the 13th movies

nightmare on elm street 1,2,3

Halloween 1,2,4

total recall

childs play 1&2

pet semetary

candy man

I know what you did last summer

saving private ryan/ pretty much any war movie

I also watched a lot of disney movies too so that balances things out :P

I'm not even sure. A lot of movies that were PG-13 back when I was a kid would be hard R's now. And I saw so many (parents typically weren't worked up about violent media like they were in the early 2000's).

Or the opposite
Where I lived Thundercats was broadcast at 23.00 at night initially, labelled as "animation for adults". Shortly afterwards it was moved to the 18.00 evening slot

In theaters.

I was five.

But most R-rated horror and action movies from the 80s and 90s really.

You know, I actually forgot about this one. Robocop 2 did up the violence count pretty high. I guess Predator 2 had its moments too... I remember watching that one when I was like... 10.

I saw Excalibur and Conan in the theater when I was nine or ten. Mom would buy the ticket and then pick me up later.

I think I'm OK

First violent movie in theatres Blade first violent movie I've seen by myself was Robocop. Both had pretty lasting images of over the top violence and gore in my head.

Robocop for me. Paul Verhoeven desensitized an entire generation to violence.

I'll never get over the reaction I had when a young mother brought her three youngsters in to the theatre with her to watch Species.
Like, what the hell?

I used to watch Terminator 2 a lot as a kid. I watched it pretty regularly growing up, I honestly probably saw it 60-70 times before 10 years old. I used to watch it on repeat. I mean it's a great movie, why wouldn't I enjoy it at five?

Although I skipped this scene everytime.

like so many, it was most likely robocop. and while murphy's death, the ED robot malfunction and mutant man were certainly something else, somehow the scene that always stuck with me the most was the way clarence shot that dude's legs and left him with the grenade. it felt like the most real and callous moment in the film.

Clarence was fucking hardcore.

Watership Down.

My mother was very protective. Heck I still haven't seen most of the movies mentioned in this thread because I still don't cope well with a lot of gore. The face the antagonist gets in The Mask when he puts of the mask gave me nightmares when I saw it in the cinema. I'd have never cope with most of this stuff ha ha.

Man, I have a lot of fond memories of talking parents into letting me and my friends watch violent movies at sleepovers and stuff. I couldn't tell you which was first but I know I saw Terminator 1-2, Predator 1-2, Robocop, Alien, Aliens and Nightmare on Elm Street while I was still in primary school (up until age 11).

I was 11 when Scream came out and saw it when it came out on VHS too, so I could only have been 11 or 12. And I watched it with my brother, who's three years younger than me lol.

Robocop - still my favourite film to this day. I just now appreciate the satire a lot more compared to when I was a kid.

Add another one to the "RoboCop" list.

It was my favourite film as a kid, even had a huge poster on my wall. Think I was around 6 or 7 when I first saw it.

That's the thing, as a kid I appreciated the violence of the film. When I grew older I understood the satire involved in the film and the social commentary it told, so it was like I got twice the enjoyment from it after that point in time.

Robocop

My school used to take us to the movies from time to time, for some reason they took us to see Robocop! We were like 8 or 9 yo... One of my hobbies was to make animated cartoons (using my dad books, you know, drawing a frame per page) and after Robocop, almost all my cartoons had parts of the movie from one way or another.

Robocop. I was 2, 3 years old.

Alien, Aliens, Terminator, Terminator 2 when I was 7, 8. But Robocop repeatedly at 2 and 3 years definitely takes the cake.

I was too young to really realize the violence or satire. I just dug that robot cop, is all.

The funny thing is I was not allowed to watch it for years afterwards. Like, I'm pretty sure my parents let me watch it to shut me up when I was too young to remember it, but as soon as I got a little older, they thought it'd affect me and stopped letting me see it.

Watership Down and The Last Unicorn from what I can remember. I also watched about one or two scenes of Hannibal when I was only 12. One of the scenes was the one where he bites off someone else's tongue. It was very bizarre.

Watership Down at a very young age. Maybe 5 or 6? I did enjoy the film though.

It's one thing to necro a thread, it's another to forget you already posted in it.

Robocop

Verhoeven fucked me up. His new film Elle is also fucked up and great.

Oh and Heavy Metal. Me and my cousins sneakily watched it as my uncle hid the tape.

Oh, forgot to mention Princess Mononoke.

Watership Down, The Last Unicorn and Princess Mononoke are all fantastic films, they really challenge a young mind. I loved that. And they didn't shy away from showing you violent acts, which was nice. I felt like I was not treated like a child by these films but like any adult person.

Haha oh wow.

Sorry, didn't look at the dates before posting. :s

Disney's The Fox and the Hound. It may not be a visually violent or gorey film, but it sure as heck messes and disturbs a kid's psychological welfare. I would never let anyone under 15 watch it.

Saw alien 1, 2 and predator 1,2 when I was 3 or 4. Needless to say I loved them at the age. Also watched blade 1 and 2 when I was 5.

I'm going to go with RoboCop. Although, when I was really young, my dad would let me watch the first two Terminator movies. Now they're two of my favorite movies to date.

Hehe.
Anyway, I tended to watch a lot of violent movies ever since I was five. Folks didn't mind, and they introduced me to some classics.

A day that stuck out to me was when I watched Total Recall. Me and my uncle were wondering what to watch, so he randomly suggested that I take out the Total Recall VHS. I was ,say, six so I wasn't too familiar with Arny.

Movie blew my mind. I loved it despite not knowing what was happening. I thought Arny killed Danny Devito in that movie.

The animated Fist of the North Star movie. Rented it with a friend thinking it would be a typical cartoon action flick and remember being shocked at all the gore after only watching for a few minutes.

Predator, Robocop, Total Recall, the standard 80's fare that kids born when I was watched. As long as it wasn't blatantly pornographic my parents didn't care what we watched. They weren't really strict.

Like others have said, robocop. I was 8 and my brother 4. And like, we owned it, but my parents never actually sat down and watched it with us. Years later I watched it again and wondered what the hell was wrong with them.
